This paper presents analytical derivations of the pressure distribution in straight and uniform rectangular microchannels in the slip flow regime and new experimental data in those channels. The flow is to be steady state, two-dimensional, isothermal, and to have negligible transverse velocities with a first order slip boundary condition. The measured pressure distributions of airflows are compared with newly derived analytical results. There is close agreement between the measurements and calculation by the slip flow formula. The dimensionless location of the maximum deviation from the linear pressure distribution is found analytically and compared with the measurements. This dimensionless location of the maximum deviation increases with the increasing pressure ratios in the slip flow regime. The effect of several parameters such as the channel aspect ratio and the Knudsen number on the locations of maximum deviation from linearity are investigated. The nonlinearity of the pressure distribution is also discussed. 相似文献

A precise definition of digital skeletons and a mathematical framework for the analysis of a class of thinning algorithms, based on morphological set transformation, are presented. A particular thinning algorithm (algorithm A) is used as an example in the analysis. Precise definitions and analyses associated with the thinning process are presented, including the proof of convergence, the condition for one-pixel-thick skeletons, and the connectedness of skeletons. In addition, a necessary and sufficient condition for the thinning process in general is derived, and an algorithm (algorithm B) based on this condition is developed. When an inter-area mode dominates a low-frequency oscillation in a stressed condition, control of the active power flow of interface lines, with compensating devices, can effectively reduce the electromechanical power oscillations. In general, interface lines in which inter-area oscillations are large are considered to be good locations for installation of compensating devices. A sensitivity analysis with respect to change in active power flow can provide an important factor in electric power system operation. This paper proposes a new methodology to calculate the damping sensitivity with respect to change in active power flow, which can be useful for accurate selection of critical lines from the viewpoint of small-signal stability. In the proposed methodology, a damping sensitivity index is used to select the critical lines to damp power system oscillations. This paper describes how to derive the damping sensitivity for the selected mode and illustrates an example applying the proposed algorithm to a simple two-area system and the New England 39-bus test system. 相似文献

In general, reactor pressure vessels (RPV) are cladded with stainless steel to prevent corrosion and radiation embrittlement. The ASME Sec. XI specifies that a subclad crack which may be found during the in-service inspection must be considered as a semi-elliptical surface crack when the thickness of cladding is less than 40% of the crack depth. In order to refine the fracture assessment procedures for such subclad cracks, three-dimensional finite element analyses were applied for various subclad cracks embedded in the base metal. A total of 18 crack geometries were analyzed, and the results were compared with those for idealized semi-elliptical surface cracks for two different loading conditions, i.e. internal pressure and pressurized thermal shock. The resulting stress intensity factors for subclad cracks were 50–70% less than those for idealized surface cracks. It has been proven that the condition specified on the ASME Sec. XI is overly conservative for subclad cracks which are assumed to be surface cracks. 相似文献

A digital duty cycle correction circuit with a fixed-delay rising-edge output is proposed for use in applications with the multi-phase clock and the standby mode. Two integrators are used in the duty cycle detector to eliminate the effect of reference voltage variations. The output duty cycle is adjusted to 50/spl plusmn/0.25% throughout the input duty cycle range from 20% to 80% at the frequency of 1.25 GHz. 0.18 /spl mu/m CMOS technology is used in this work. 相似文献

Lithium–sulfur (Li–S) batteries are promising energy storage systems due to their large theoretical energy density of 2600 Wh kg?1 and cost effectiveness. However, the severe shuttle effect of soluble lithium polysulfide intermediates (LiPSs) and sluggish redox kinetics during the cycling process cause low sulfur utilization, rapid capacity fading, and a low coulombic efficiency. Here, a 3D copper, nitrogen co‐doped hierarchically porous graphitic carbon network developed through a freeze‐drying method (denoted as 3D Cu@NC‐F) is prepared, and it possesses strong chemical absorption and electrocatalytic conversion activity for LiPSs as highly efficient sulfur host materials in Li–S batteries. The porous carbon network consisting of 2D cross‐linked ultrathin carbon nanosheets provides void space to accommodate volumetric expansion upon lithiation, while the Cu, N‐doping effect plays a critical role for the confinement of polysulfides through chemical bonding. In addition, after sulfuration of Cu@NC‐F network, the in situ grown copper sulfide (CuxS) embedded within CuxS@NC/S‐F composite catalyzes LiPSs conversion during reversible cycling, resulting in low polarization and fast redox reaction kinetics. At a current density of 0.1 C, the CuxS@NC/S‐F composites' electrode exhibits an initial capacity of 1432 mAh g?1 and maintains 1169 mAh g?1 after 120 cycles, with a coulombic efficiency of nearly 100%. 相似文献

With the advent of the Internet‐of‐Things paradigm, the amount of data production has grown exponentially and the user demand for responsive consumption of data has increased significantly. Herein, we present DART, a fast and lightweight stream processing framework for the IoT environment. Because the DART framework targets a geospatially distributed environment of heterogeneous devices, the framework provides (1) an end‐user tool for device registration and application authoring, (2) automatic worker node monitoring and task allocations, and (3) runtime management of user applications with fault tolerance. To maximize performance, the DART framework adopts an actor model in which applications are segmented into microtasks and assigned to an actor following a single responsibility. To prove the feasibility of the proposed framework, we implemented the DART system. We also conducted experiments to show that the system can significantly reduce computing burdens and alleviate network load by utilizing the idle resources of intermediate edge devices. 相似文献

A class of thin, lightweight, flexible, near‐field communication (NFC) devices with ultraminiaturized format is introduced, and systematic investigations of the mechanics, radio frequency characteristics, and materials aspects associated with their optimized construction are presented. These systems allow advantages in mechanical strength, placement versatility, and minimized interfacial stresses compared to other NFC technologies and wearable electronics. Detailed experimental studies and theoretical modeling of the mechanical and electromagnetic properties of these systems establish understanding of the key design considerations. These concepts can apply to many other types of wireless communication systems including biosensors and electronic implants. 相似文献
