A joint source channel coding (JSCC) scheme which exploits bit-level correlation as well as symbol-level correlation efficiently in a source-controlled channel decoding (SCCD) process is proposed and applied to the mixed-excitation linear prediction (MELP) parameters of speech. A modified BCJR algorithm is also proposed for use in the SCCD algorithm. Simulation results show that our proposed scheme performs better than other redundancy-based JSCC schemes such as bit-based SCCD, soft-bit speech decoding (SBSD) and iterative source-channel decoding.  相似文献

The classic problem of field computation for an infinitesimal dipole radiating above an impedance half-space is revisited. The expressions for the traditional solution consist of integrals of the Sommerfeld type that cannot be evaluated in closed form and due to their highly oscillatory nature are difficult to evaluate numerically. A method known as exact image theory, which has previously been applied to vertical electric and magnetic dipoles, is used to derive explicit expressions for dipoles of arbitrary orientation above impedance surfaces. Starting from the spectral representation of the field, the reflection coefficients are cast in the form of exact Laplace transforms and then by changing the order of integrations field expressions in terms of rapidly converging integrals are obtained. These expressions are exact, and valid for any arbitrary source alignment or observation position. It is shown that the formulation for a horizontal dipole contains an image in the conjugate complex plane resulting in a diverging exponential term not previously addressed in the literature. It is shown through further mathematical manipulations, that the diverging term is a contribution of the mirror image which can be extracted. Comparison of numerical results from exact image theory and the original Sommerfeld-type expressions shows good agreement as well as a speedup in computation time of many orders of magnitude, which depends on the distance between the transmitter and the receiver. This formulation can effectively replace the approximate asymptotic expressions used for predicting wave propagation over a smooth planar ground (having different regions of validity). The exact image formulation is also of practical use in evaluation of the Green's function for various applications in scattering problems where approximate solutions are not sufficient.  相似文献

Crystallization of Li-Al-Si-O-N oxynitride glasses based on the β-spodumene composition and the properties of the resultant glass-ceramics have been studied. The onset of the precipitation of metastable high-quartz solid solution and its transformation to β-spodumene shift to higher temperatures with increasing nitrogen content of the oxynitride glasses. Nitrided glass-ceramics crystallized at 1200°C have negative thermal expansion coefficients, since high-quartz structure is maintained up to 1000° and 1200°C. Knoop hardness and density of the glass-ceramics increase with increasing nitrogen content. There was evidence that part of the nitrogen atoms were incorporated into the high-quartz solid-solution structure and that a small amount of the minor phase of Si2N2O was precipitated in highly nitrided glass-ceramics.  相似文献

The alkaline dissolution behaviour of sea–island type polyester microfibres were successfully monitored using a cationic dye staining method. Weight reduction behaviour of the alkali-treated microfibre fabrics and the treated fabrics stained with cationic dye were investigated in a comparative manner. The termination of dissolution monitored by both methods was also confirmed by scanning electron microscopy.  相似文献

The effects of methacrylic acid (MAA) on the physical properties of polymer made by emulsion copolymerization of butyl acrylate (BA) and MAA were examined. Emulsion polymerizations were performed with and without MAA and at temperatures of 0.1 and 50 °C, using redox initiation so that the radical flux was essentially independent of temperature. The presence of methacrylic acid had only a small effect on gel fraction and on molecular weight, but a profound effect on the film properties; changing the synthesis temperature was found to slightly alter the properties of the copolymer films. Latexes containing MAA formed much stronger films (from creep tests), and significantly increased tack and peel adhesion. This was attributed to intermolecular dipole-dipole interactions of the acid groups. Conductometric titration measurements revealed that the acid groups were predominantly located inside the latex particles, with only a small proportion in the aqueous phase and on the particle surface. Temperature was found not to affect significantly the partitioning of the acid groups in the latex.  相似文献

Corals are constantly exposed to ubiquitous microbes. Detrimental effects of microbes on corals include surface fouling and disease. To prevent fouling and disease, corals need to resist microbial colonization and invasion. One way that this could be achieved is by chemical defense. Extracts from 100 scleractinian coral species (44 genera and 13 families) were screened for antimicrobial activity against seven microbe species (Alteromonas rubra, Photobacterium damsela, Vibrio harveyi, Vibrio alginolyticus, Vibrio parahaemolyticus, Synechococcus sp., and Staphylococcus aureus). Activity against Synechococcus sp. (a marine cyanobacterium) was recorded in 100 coral species, and eight of these coral species also inhibited the growth of marine bacteria. The extent of microbial colonization on coral surfaces was assessed in 20 scleractinian species to test the hypothesis that fewer microbes occur on corals that have antimicrobial compounds. Bacterial counts exceeded cyanobacterial counts on coral surfaces, and coral species with antibacterial activity had the fewest bacteria on their surfaces. Thus, corals with less heavily colonized surfaces chemically inhibit microbial colonization.  相似文献

Nonstoichiometric BaTiO3 PTCR type materials are investigated with various amounts of MnO2, Sb2O3 and MgO dopants. Specimens fired with a nonisothermal rate-controlled sintering profile exhibit a rather fine and uniform microstructure as compared to those processed by conventional sintering techniques. The temperature at which the resistivity anomaly begins is observed to decrease with Sb2O3 and MgO contents. The Curie point of BaTiO3-based ceramics can be altered by addition of Sb2O3, and the dielectric peak is maintained by the presence of MgO additive. Magnesium ions act as acceptors in the BaTiO2 lattice, while antimony ions as donors. The presence of magnesium compensates some of the antimony, hence the doped-BaTiO3 seminonductive region is pushed to higher contents.  相似文献

Three calix[4]arene (Cal-4) derivatives which separately contain ethylester (1), carboxylic acid (2), and crownether (3) at the lower rim with a common reactive thiol at the upper rim were synthesized and constructed to self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) on Au films. After spectroscopic characterization of the monolayers, surface coverage and orientation of antibody immobilized on the Cal-4 derivative SAMs were studied by surface plasmon resonance (SPR) technique. Experimental results revealed that the antibody could be immobilized on the Cal-4 derivatives spontaneously. The orientation of absorbed antibody on the Cal-4 derivative SAMs is related to the SAM’s dipole moment. The possible orientations of the antibody immobilized on the Cal-4 derivative 1 SAM are lying-on or side-on, while on the Cal-4 derivative 2 and Cal-4 derivative 3 head-on and end-on respectively. These experimental results demonstrate the surface dipole moment of Cal-4 derivative appears to be an important factor to antibody orientation. Cal-4 derivatives are useful in developing site direct protein chips.  相似文献
