Scope: It has been shown that calcium supplementation favorably modifies plasma lipoprotein profile in postmenopausal women. The present study investigated the interaction of dietary calcium with genes of transporters, receptors and enzymes involved in cholesterol metabolism. Methods and results: Forty‐eight ovariectomized hamsters were fed one of the four diets containing 0, 2, 6 and 8 g calcium per kg. Plasma total cholesterol (TC), triacylglycerols (TG), and non‐high density lipoprotein cholesterol were dose‐dependently decreased, whereas high‐density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL‐C) was dose‐dependently increased with the increasing dietary calcium levels. Dietary calcium had no effect on protein mass of hepatic sterol regulatory element binding protein‐2 (SREBP), liver X receptor‐alpha (LXR), 3‐hydroxy‐3‐methylglutaryl‐CoA reductase (HMGR), LDL receptor (LDLR) and cholesterol‐7α‐hydroxylase (CYP7A1). However, dietary calcium up‐regulated the mRNA levels of hepatic CYP7A1 and intestinal ATP binding cassette transporters (ABCG5/8) whereas it down‐regulated the intestinal Niemann‐Pick C1 like 1 (NPC1L1) and microsomal triacylglycerol transport protein (MTP). In addition, dietary calcium increased the activity of intestinal acyl coenzyme A: cholesterol acyltransferase 2, while it decreased plasma cholesteryl ester transport protein (CETP). Conclusion: Beneficial modification of lipoprotein profile by dietary calcium was mediated by sequestering bile acid absorption and enhancing excretion of fecal cholesterol, via up‐regulation of mRNA CYP7A1 and intestinal ABCG 5/8 with down‐regulation of mRNA NPC1L1 and MTP.  相似文献

以即食凤爪为试材,研究了电子加速器辐照处理对凤爪品质的影响,分析了不同剂量处理条件下凤爪的脂质氧化TBARS值、总挥发性盐基氮、弹性、汁液流失率、感官品质和菌落的变化情况。结果表明:当辐照剂量达到6.0 kGy时,产品贮藏180 d后其菌落总数为4 300 cfu/g,菌落总数电子束辐照的D10值在1.84~2.22 kGy;辐照剂量大于6.0 kGy时,TBARS值与空白相比有显著差异,而TVB-N则无显著差异;辐照剂量超过8.0 kGy时,则凤爪的弹性与汁液流失率有显著的影响。辐照剂量在一定范围内(8.0 kGy),对产品的感官品质不会产生明显的影响。常温下180 d的贮藏实验结果显示,采用电子束辐照可以显著降低并控制即食凤爪微生物含量,延长产品的货架期。  相似文献

The transport and removal characteristics of expiratory droplets at different supply airflow rates and “coughing” orientations were investigated both numerically and experimentally in a three-bed hospital ward setting. A Lagrangian-based particle-tracking model with near-wall correction functions for turbulence was employed to simulate the fate of the expiratory droplets. The model was tested against experimental droplet dispersion data obtained in an experimental hospital ward using Interferometric Mie Imaging and a light-scattering aerosol spectrometer. The change in airflow supply rate had insignificant effect on the transport and deposition of very large droplets (initial sizes 87.5 μm) due to the dominance of gravitational settling on these behaviors. Smaller droplets (initial sizes 45 μm) exhibited certain airborne behaviors. The effect of thermal plumes from heat sources was observed only when the supply airflow was low and when the droplet size was small, as observed in the vertical mixing patterns of the droplets of various sizes. Larger droplets tended to settle lower and lateral dispersion of the droplets became weak at the low supply airflow rate. The deposition characteristics for different surfaces in the room are described. The heat plumes seemed to obstruct small droplets from being deposited onto heated surfaces. More deposition was predicted in the lateral injection case compared with the vertical injection case. Adopting near-wall correction for turbulence in the model reduced the predicted deposition removal fraction by 25% for 1.5 μm droplets. This reduction became less significant for larger droplets due to the smaller dependence on turbulent diffusion in their deposition.  相似文献

The new amphiphilic BODPY‐porphyrin conjugate BZnPP and its precursor BZnPH were synthesised, and their linear and two‐photon photophysical properties, together with their cellular uptake and photo‐cytotoxicity, were studied. This amphiphilic conjugate consists of a hydrophobic BODIPY moiety and a hydrophilic tetra(ethylene glycol) chain bridging a cationic triphenylphosphonium group to an amphiphilic porphyrin ZnP through acetylide linkers at its meso positions. A large two‐photon absorption cross‐section (σ=1725 GM) and a high singlet oxygen quantum yield (0.52) were recorded. Intense linear‐ and two‐photon‐induced red emissions were also observed for both BZnPP and BZnPH. Further in vitro studies showed that BZnPP exhibited very efficient cellular uptake and strong photocytotoxic but weak dark cytotoxic properties towards human breast carcinoma MCF‐7 cells. In summary, the two‐photon‐induced emission and the potent photo‐cytotoxicity of BZnPP make it an efficacious dual‐purpose tumour‐imaging and photodynamic therapeutic agent in the tissue‐transparent spectral windows.  相似文献

A corrosion process caused by reaction of surfaces of oxygenation cracks of YBCO bulk single‐grain superconductor with air moisture was studied. X‐ray photo‐emission spectroscopy, done on air exposed (001) surfaces, confirmed oxygen bonds related to barium hydroxide. Thermal analyses and mass spectrometry of exposed samples has shown a release of water caused by decomposition of barium hydroxide hydrates during sample heating. The sample weight increase versus time was related to formation of barium hydroxide phases at the surfaces of oxygenation cracks. The morphological changes of these phases at heating were observed with scanning electron microscope.  相似文献

The promotive effects of cerium oxide on commercial three-way catalysts (TWCs) for purification of motor exhaust gases have been widely investigated in recent years. This work shows the cooperative effects of CeO2–Pd on the kinetics of CO oxidation over Pd/CeO2–ZrO2. Under reducing-to-moderately oxidizing conditions, a zero-order O2 pressure dependence is found which can be interpreted on the basis of a mechanism involving a reaction between CO adsorbed on Pd and surface oxygen from the support. The high oxygen-exchange capability of the CeO2–ZrO2 support, as determined from temperature-programmed reduction/oxygen uptake measurements is suggested as being responsible for such a catalytic behavior.  相似文献

Abstract: Estimation of the peak ground acceleration (PGA) is one of the main tasks in civil and earthquake engineering practice since it is an important factor for the design spectrum. The Boore–Joyner–Fumal (BJF) and the Crouse–McGuire formula are well‐known empirical models by estimating the PGA with the magnitude of earthquake, the fault‐to‐site distance, and the site foundation properties. It is obvious that a predictive model class with more effective free parameters often fit the data better. However, this does not imply that the complicated formula is more realistic since overfitting may happen when the formula has too many free parameters. In this article, 32 linear and 16 nonlinear predictive model classes are constructed and investigated. The Bayesian model class selection approach is utilized to obtain the most suitable predictive model class for the seismic attenuation formula. In this approach, each predictive model class is evaluated by the plausibility conditional on the data and it is proportional to the evidence which involves a high‐dimensional integral. This integral has closed‐form solution for the linear model classes. Analytic work was done to improve the original asymptotic expansion in this study. For the nonlinear model classes, the evidence integral can be reduced to two‐dimensional and then Monte Carlo simulation is utilized to evaluate the double integral. The most plausible model class is robust in the sense that it balances between the data‐fitting capability and the sensitivity to noise. A database of 266 strong‐motion records, obtained from the China Earthquake Data Center, is utilized for the analysis. The most plausible predictive model class and its updated model parameters are determined. It turns out that the most plausible model class is generally simpler than the full BJF empirical formula. In the case where no single model class has dominant plausibility, one can utilize the multi‐model predictive formula that is a plausibility‐weighted average of the prediction of different predictive models.  相似文献
