The effects of milling time on the rheological behavior of 70-vol% loaded fused silica slurries were studied. A transition from shear thickening to shear thinning behavior was observed with milling time. Slurry viscosity and thixotropy attained a minimum after 18 h of milling and remained almost unchanged with additional milling. Infrared spectroscopy and particle surface charge measurements confirmed the development of increasing amount of surface hydroxide and surface charge respectively with progress in milling time, leading to shear thinning behavior. An initial static aging treatment of 24 h aided the development of silanol groups, indicating that the milling time can be reduced to save energy and time.  相似文献

4,4′-Dimethylbenzophenone (DMBP) single crystals were irradiated at room temperature and at liquid nitrogen temperature with 50 MeV Li3+ ions at fluences 1 × 1012 and 1 × 1013 ions/cm2. The dielectric constant and dielectric loss as a function of frequency of the applied ac field in the range from 20 Hz to 1 MHz and at temperatures ranging from 313 to 353 K were analyzed. The dielectric constant decreases with increase in frequency for all the temperatures. The dielectric constant and dielectric loss increase with fluence. Optical absorption was measured at different conditions. UV-Vis studies reveal the decrease in bandgap. The unirradiated as well as irradiated crystals were characterized by photoluminescence. Ion-induced changes were also studied with respect to their mechanical response using the Vicker’s microhardness technique and parameters including fracture toughness, brittleness index and yield strength are calculated.  相似文献

Fish curry processed in metal cans is popular in the overseas markets. An important limitation with the use of metal cans is the undesirable taste imparted to the products on storage. Flexible pouches are an ideal alternative to metal cans. Extensive work carried out at Central Institute of Fisheries Technology has been able to identify indigenous pouches, which are as good as imported pouches. This has been done after collecting different types of indigenous and imported flexible pouches, analyzing their composition and conducting detailed studies on their physical and food contact application properties. Two indigenous pouches with composition 12 micron polyester/12 micron aluminium foil/87.5 micron cast polypropylene and 12 micron polyester/15 micron aluminium foil/70 micron cast polypropylene have been selected and got made by indigenous laminators and an imported one with configuration 12 micron polyester/15 micron aluminium foil/75 micron cast polypropylene were used for further experiment on processing fish curry. Traditional Kerala style mackerel fish curry was processed in the retort pouches of the above configurations. About 220 g fish curry was packed in each pouch (15.5 cm×7 cm). Process requirements were worked out by measuring heat penetration using thermocouples introduced into the pouches. Fish curry processed to a F0 value of 8.43 gave an acceptable product with desired texture and sensory characteristics. The physical properties of the pouches studied showed that the indigenous pouches of the above configurations were good enough to give a shelf life of 1 year at room temperature. The curry remained sterile throughout the storage period at ambient temperature (25–30°C) and retained acceptable sensory characteristics.  相似文献

Increasing interest in graphene research in basic sciences and applications emphasizes the need for an economical means of synthesizing it. We report a method for the synthesis of graphene on commercially available stainless steel foils using direct thermal chemical vapor deposition. Our method of synthesis and the use of relatively cheap precursors such as ethanol (CH(3)CH(2)OH) as a source of carbon and SS 304 as the substrate proved to be economically viable. The presence of single- and few-layer graphene was confirmed using confocal Raman microscopy/spectroscopy. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopic measurements were further used to establish the influence of various elemental species present in stainless steel on graphene growth. The role of cooling rate on surface migration of certain chemical species (oxides of Fe, Cr and Mn) that promote or hinder the growth of graphene is probed. Such analysis of the chemical species present on the surface can be promising for graphene based catalytic research.  相似文献

The delta operator defined by δ=(q-1)/Δ has been proposed as an alternative to the conventional shift operator q for implementing discrete-time estimation and control algorithms for processing data obtained by continuous-time processes, when the rate 1/Δ is rapid relative to the process dynamics. The authors present lattice and ladder filter structures based on the delta operator. Three dimensional (3-D) cubic KIT-6 with directly incorporated vanadium was hydrothermally synthesized by using Pluronic P123 and n-butanol as the structure-directing mixture, tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) as the silica source and NH4VO3 as the vanadium source. The molar composition was varied in the range of 0.017 P123/0.08–2.4 V/1.0–2.0 TEOS/1.31–1.70 BuOH/1.83–3.00 HCl/195 H2O. The orderness of mesopore structure was estimated by X-ray diffraction, N2 adsorption, and TEM analysis. The effects of the amount of HCl, TEOS and BuOH on the structure of KIT-6 were discussed. The time and temperature for the synthesis of KIT-6 were also optimized. The amount of vanadium content influenced the framework structure and crystallinity of the Ia3d phase significantly.  相似文献

The direct incorporation of vanadium into the three-dimensional (3-D) cubic Ia3d mesostructure designated as V-KIT-6 was prepared, and the material obtained therein showed a very high specific surface area of ∼1,000 m2/g with tunable pore diameters in a narrow distribution of sizes, ∼5.7 to 6.0 nm. The coordination and nature of the V sites in V-KIT-6 were characterized by 51V-spin-echo NMR analysis. It shows that after calcination, the V4+ species are totally oxidized to the V5+ state with 4- and 6-coordinated V-O environments in a highly dispersed state with much less crystalline V2O5 formation. The calcined V-KIT-6 materials showed excellent catalytic activity in the direct oxidation of styrene using tert-butyl hydroperoxide (TBHP) as an oxidant.  相似文献
