This paper presents the engine performance and optimum injection timing for 4-cylinder direct injection hydrogen fueled engine. The 4-cylinder direct injection hydrogen engine model was developed utilizing the GT-Power commercial software. This model employed one dimensional gas dynamics to represent the flow and heat transfer in the components of engine model. Sequential pulse injectors are adopted to inject hydrogen gas fuel within the compression stroke. Injection timing was varied from 110° before top dead center (BTDC) until top dead center (TDC) timing. Engine speed was varied from 2000 rpm to 6000 rpm, while the equivalence ratio was varied from 0.2 to 1.0. The validation was performed with the existing previous experimental results. The negative effects of the interaction between ignition timing and injection duration was highlighted and clarified. The results showed that optimum injection timing and engine performance are related strongly to the air fuel ratio and engine speed. The acquired results show that the air fuel ratio and engine speed are strongly influence on the optimum injection timing and engine performance. It can be seen that the indicated efficiency increases with increases of AFR while decreases of engine speed. The power and torque increases with the decreases of AFR and engine speed. The indicated specific fuel consumption (ISFC) decreases with increases of AFR from rich conditions to lean while decreases of engine speed. The injection timing of 60° BTDC was the overall optimum injection timing with a compromise. 相似文献

Thermal energy storage (TES) using phase change materials (PCMs) has recently received considerable attention in the literature, due to its high storage capacity and isothermal behaviour during the storage (melting or charging) and removal (discharging or solidification). In this study, a novel modification on a tube-in-shell-type storage geometry is suggested. In the proposed geometry, the outer surface of the shell is inclined and it is the objective of this study to determine the optimum range for the inclination angle of the shell surface. Paraffin with a melting temperature of 58.06°C, which is supplied by the Merck Company, is used as the PCM. The PCM is stored in the vertical annular space between an inner tube through which the heat transfer fluid (HTF), hot water, is flowing and a concentrically placed outer shell. At first, the thermophysical properties of this paraffin are determined through the differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) analysis. Temporal behaviour of the PCM undergoing a non-isothermal solid–liquid phase change during its melting or charging by the HTF are determined for different values of the inlet temperature and the mass flow rate of the HTF. The new geometry is shown to respond well with the melting characteristics of the PCM and to enhance heat transfer inside the PCM for a specific range of the shell inclination angle. Nandrolone (Ndn) and boldenone (Bdn), the synthetic testosterone analogues with strong anabolic effects, despite being recognized as potentially carcinogenic compounds, are commonly abused by athletes and bodybuilders, which includes women, worldwide. This study tested the hypothesis that different doses of Ndn and Bdn can initiate neoplastic transformation of porcine ovarian putative stem cells (poPSCs). Immunomagnetically isolated poPSCs were expanded ex vivo in the presence of Ndn or Bdn, for 7 and 14 days. Results show that pharmacological doses of both Ndn and Bdn, already after 7 days of poPSCs culture, caused a significant increase of selected, stemness-related markers of cancer cells: CD44 and CD133. Notably, Ndn also negatively affected poPSCs growth not only by suppressing their proliferation and mitochondrial respiration but also by inducing apoptosis. This observation shows, for the first time, that chronic exposure to Ndn or Bdn represents a precondition that might enhance risk of poPSCs neoplastic transformation. These studies carried out to accomplish detailed molecular characterization of the ex vivo expanded poPSCs and their potentially cancerous derivatives (PCDs) might be helpful to determine their suitability as nuclear donor cells (NDCs) for further investigations focused on cloning by somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT). Such investigations might also be indispensable to estimate the capabilities of nuclear genomes inherited from poPSCs and their PCDs to be epigenetically reprogrammed (dedifferentiated) in cloned pig embryos generated by SCNT. This might open up new possibilities for biomedical research aimed at more comprehensively recognizing genetic and epigenetic mechanisms underlying not only tumorigenesis but also reversal/retardation of pro-tumorigenic intracellular events. 相似文献

Glycine transporters are interesting therapeutic targets as they play significant roles in glycinergic and glutamatergic systems. The search for new selective inhibitors of particular types of glycine transporters (GlyT-1 and GlyT-2) with beneficial kinetics is hampered by limited knowledge about the spatial structure of these proteins. In this study, a pool of homology models of GlyT-1 and GlyT-2 in different conformational states was constructed using the crystal structures of related transporters from the SLC6 family and the recently revealed structure of GlyT-1 in the inward-open state, in order to investigate their binding sites. The binding mode of the known GlyT-1 and GlyT-2 inhibitors was determined using molecular docking studies, molecular dynamics simulations, and MM-GBSA free energy calculations. The results of this study indicate that two amino acids, Gly373 and Leu476 in GlyT-1 and the corresponding Ser479 and Thr582 in GlyT-2, are mainly responsible for the selective binding of ligands within the S1 site. Apart from these, one pocket of the S2 site, which lies between TM3 and TM10, may also be important. Moreover, selective binding of noncompetitive GlyT-1 inhibitors in the intracellular release pathway is affected by hydrophobic interactions with Ile399, Met382, and Leu158. These results can be useful in the rational design of new glycine transporter inhibitors with desired selectivity and properties in the future. 相似文献

Precise measurement of mechanical forces is crucial to efficient micro-manufacturing. The quality of such measurements depends heavily on the properties of the noise inevitably accompanying every measurement process. In the micro-range, the signal-to-noise ratio tends to be very low, and the noise dynamic varies for different frequencies. In result, common denoising methods that assume white noise perform poorly in this setting. In this paper, a novel, easily implementable denoising method based on a local statistic of the measured data’s spectrum is proposed. By testing it on a representative dataset, it is shown that the proposed method is robust and stable. Periodic autoregressive (PAR) models extend the classical autoregressive models by allowing the parameters to vary with seasons. Selecting PAR time‐series models can be computationally expensive, and the results are not always satisfactory. In this article, we propose a new automatic procedure to the model selection problem by using the genetic algorithm. The Bayesian information criterion is used as a tool to identify the order of the PAR model. The path toward realizing next-generation petascale and exascale computing is increasingly dependent on building supercomputers with unprecedented numbers of processors. To prevent the interconnect from dominating the overall cost of these ultrascale systems, there is a critical need for scalable interconnects that capture the communication requirements of ultrascale applications. It is, therefore, essential to understand high-end application communication characteristics across a broad spectrum of computational methods, and utilize that insight to tailor interconnect designs to the specific requirements of the underlying codes. This work makes several unique contributions toward attaining that goal. First, we conduct one of the broadest studies to date of high-end application communication requirements, whose computational methods include: finite difference, lattice Boltzmann, particle-in-cell, sparse linear algebra, particle-mesh ewald, and FFT-based solvers. Using derived communication characteristics, we next present the fit-tree approach for designing network infrastructure that is tailored to application requirements. The fit-tree minimizes the component count of an interconnect without impacting application performance compared to a fully connected network. Finally, we propose a methodology for reconfigurable networks to implement fit-tree solutions. Our Hybrid Flexibly Assignable Switch Topology (HFAST) infrastructure, uses both passive (circuit) and active (packet) commodity switch components to dynamically reconfigure interconnects to suit the topological requirements of scientific applications. Overall, our exploration points to several promising directions for practically addressing the interconnect requirements of future ultrascale systems. 相似文献

Corrosion inhibition of aluminium alloys in the acidic solutions is important in the aluminium finishing industry (stripping solutions for anodic films). Sodium molybdate is a potential replacement for chromate-containing species used in the stripping solutions. It was tested as the corrosion inhibitor of 2024 aluminium alloy in orthophosphoric acid solutions. A corrosion rate of the alloy as a function of an initial concentration of sodium molybdate and temperature was determined by using gravimetric and gasometric methods. The corrosion rate was significantly lower in the solutions containing over 5?mM of sodium molybdate when compared to the uninhibited solution. The inhibition efficiency decreased with the increase of the temperature for the constant concentration of sodium molybdate. Sodium molybdate reduced the corrosion of the alloy by adsorption as well as formation of insoluble corrosion products on the alloy. 相似文献

The bonding mechanisms of gold, to give the desired strength of wire bonding, still require detailed investigation, including establishing adequate and reliable testing procedures. The current practices for analysing the mechanisms of wire bonding are inadequate and do not provide a comprehensive picture. This is because the focus of the tests is not clear, which causes variation in the results obtained, changing the conclusions about the responsible mechanism. Furthermore, as the size of Au wire bonds decreases, the mechanism responsible for thermosonic Au wire bonding may change. This paper provides a comprehensive analysis of the current and possible future methods for elaborating the bonding mechanism and strength of thermosonic Au wire bonds. We discuss the testing methods, their limitations and advantages, and suggest ways in which they can be improved. 相似文献
