Using the micropolar theory, a set of boundary layer equations are obtained for the two dimensional flow of an incompressible micropolar fluid near a stagnation point. The boundary conditions of isothermal and insulated wall are taken with VISCOUS DISSIPATION effects. Numerical results for the temperature distribution has been shown graphically for different values of the material parameters and Prandtl number.  相似文献

The pharmacokinetics and dose proportionality of fexofenadine, a new non-sedating antihistamine, and its enantiomers were characterized after single and multiple-dose administration of its hydrochloride salt. A total of 24 healthy male volunteers (31 +/- 8 years) received oral doses of 20, 60, 120 and 240 mg fexofenadine HCl in a randomized, complete four-period cross-over design. Subjects received a single oral dose on day 1, and multiple oral doses every 12 h on day 3 through the morning on day 7. Treatments were separated by a 14-day washout period. Serial blood and urine samples were collected for up to 48 h following the first and last doses of fexofenadine HCl. Fexofenadine and its R(+) and S(-) enantiomers were analysed in plasma and urine by validated HPLC methods. Fexofenadine pharmacokinetics were linear across the 20-120 mg dose range, but a small disproportionate increase in area under the plasma concentration-time curve (AUC) (< 25%) was observed following the 240 mg dose. Single-dose pharmacokinetics of fexofenadine were predictive of steady-state pharmacokinetics. Urinary elimination of fexofenadine played a minor role (10%) in the disposition of this drug. A 63:37 steady-state ratio of R(+) and S(-) fexofenadine was observed in plasma. This ratio was essentially constant across time and dose. R(+) and S(-) fexofenadine were eliminated into urine in equal rates and quantities. All doses of fexofenadine HCl were well tolerated after single and multiple-dose administration.  相似文献

The static behavior of composites and sandwich plates in thermo-mechanical environment is investigated by a two dimensional (2D) FE model. An efficient higher-order zig-zag theory (HOZT) considering actual through-thickness temperature profile and a least square error (LSE) method to accurately predict the inter-laminar stresses is implemented in this model. The in-plane displacement field is obtained by superposing a cubically varying global displacement field on a zig-zag displacement field having different slopes at each layer. This plate theory represents parabolic through thickness variation of transverse shear stresses, which satisfy the inter-laminar continuity at the layer interfaces and zero transverse shear stress conditions at the top and bottom of the plate. In the present 2D finite element (FE) model, the first derivatives of transverse displacement have been treated as independent variables to circumvent the problem of C1 continuity associated with the above plate theory (HOZT). The accurate through-thickness distribution of temperature is obtained by using a linear zig-zag thermal lamination theory proposed by the authors by using the thermal conduction properties of different constituent layers in the thickness direction. The LSE method is applied at the postprocessing stage to accurately calculate the inter-laminar stresses by the 3D equilibrium equations of the plate problem, after in-plane stresses are calculated. The proposed combined FE model (HOZT+LSE) is implemented to analyze the static behavior of laminated composites and sandwich plates subjected to thermo-mechanical loadings. Many new results are also presented that should be useful for the future reference.  相似文献

The sludge production and settleability have been estimated experimentally in a completely mixed biofilm-activated sludge reactor (hybrid reactor). A steady-state hybrid reactor was run at different stages of suspended biomass concentration (X) under constant values of influent substrate concentration (So) and hydraulic retention time (HRT). The values of X were gradually decreased in these stages until the system completely washed out of the suspended biomass and converted to pure biofilm reactor. As a result, the role of biofilm in the treatment gradually increased with an increase in the effluent substrate concentration (S). The experiment was supported by a mathematical expression for describing the sludge yield in the system under the previous conditions. The experimental and theoretical studies in the present work reveal that there is a critical phase of the hybrid system at which the system produces a high rate of excess sludge. That critical phase is found at a specific ratio between the suspended and the attached growth. Avoiding that critical phase enables the sludge production in the hybrid reactor to be reduced and optimized. The effects of chronic administration of [D-Pen2, D-Pen5]enkephalin and [D-Ala2, Glu4]deltorphin II, the selective agonists of the delta 1- and delta 2-opioid receptors, on the binding of [3H]MK-801, a noncompetitive antagonist of the N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor, were determined in several brain regions of the mouse. Male Swiss-Webster mice were injected intracerebroventricularly (i.c.v.) with [D-Pen2, D-Pen5]enkephalin or [D-Ala2, Glu4]deltorphin II (20 micrograms/mouse) twice a day for 4 days. Vehicle injected mice served as controls. Previously we have shown that the above treatment results in the development of tolerance to their analgesic activity. The binding of [3H]MK-801 was determined in brain regions (cortex, midbrain, pons and medulla, hippocampus, striatum, hypothalamus and amygdala). At 5 nM-concentration, the binding of [3H]MK-801 was increased in cerebral cortex, hippocampus, and pons and medulla of [D-Pen2, D-Pen5]enkephalin treated mice. In [D-Ala2, Glu4]deltorphin II treated mice, the binding of [3H]MK-801 was increased in cerebral cortex and hippocampus. The changes in the binding were due to increases in the Bmax value of [3H]MK-801. It is concluded that tolerance to delta 1- and delta 2-opioid receptor agonists is associated with up-regulation of brain N-methyl-D-aspartate receptors, however, some brain areas affected differ with the two treatments. The results are consistent with the recent observation from this laboratory that N-methyl-D-aspartate receptors antagonists block tolerance to the analgesic action of delta 1- and delta 2-opioid receptor agonists.  相似文献

The effects of 7-nitroindazole (7-NI), an inhibitor of the neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS) which does not increase blood pressure, on tolerance to the antinociceptive activity of mu-(morphine), kappa-(U-50,488H) and delta-([D-Pen2, D-Pen5]enkephalin, DPDPE) opioid receptor agonists were determined in mice. Male Swiss-Webster mice were made tolerant by twice daily injections of morphine (20 mg/kg, s.c.), U-50,488H (25 mg/kg, i.p.) or DPDPE (20 micrograms/mouse, i.c.v.) for 4 days. When tested on day 5, tolerance to their antinociceptive activity was evidenced by decreased response in chronic drug treated mice in comparison to vehicle-injected mice. Concurrent administration of 7-NI (20, 40 or 80 mg/kg, i.p.) with DPDPE did not modify the development of tolerance to the antinociceptive action of DPDPE. However, 7-NI (40 or 80 mg/kg, i.p.) inhibited the development of tolerance to the antinociceptive activity of morphine and U-50,488H but the lower dose of 7-NI (20 mg/kg, i.p.) was not effective. Chronic administration of 7-NI by itself did not modify the acute response to morphine, U-50,488H or DPDPE. It is concluded that a specific inhibitor of nNOS can inhibit tolerance to the antinociceptive activity of mu- and kappa- but not of delta-opioid receptor agonists in mice.  相似文献

Friction stir processing (FSP) improves the mechanical properties of metallic materials. In this study, a magnesium alloy AZ31B was friction stir processed by using single and multiple pass. The friction-stir-processed magnesium alloy exhibits higher tensile strength and ductility in the transverse direction (TD) compared to the longitudinal direction (LD). Both single pass and multiple (two) pass friction-stir-processed material show similar anisotropy in tensile properties, but the multiple pass friction-stir-processed material shows fine-grained microstructure with higher tensile strength and ductility. The tensile anisotropy in the friction-stir-processed AZ31B originated from the textured microstructure that evolved during FSP.  相似文献

Mast cells participate in the host defense against parasites. Mast cells release leukotrienes (LTs), potent 5-lipoxygenase (LO) products of arachidonic acid well-known to be involved in the inflammatory process. After incubation with Toxoplasma gondii, mast cells were found to degranulate and release LTB4; this interaction damages the tachyzoites. This mast cell activity against the tachyzoites was inhibited by the 5-LO inhibitor A-63162 and the 5-LO-activating protein inhibitor MK-886 but not by the cyclooxygenase inhibitor indomethacin. Reactive oxygen species were not implicated in the mast cell-mediated toxoplasmacidal activity. The generation of LTs is important for mast cell secretion, and LTB4 released by mast cells and other inflammatory cells may be a key factor in the host defense against T. gondii.  相似文献
