The current article considers the question of whether vaporescence during wort boiling affects evaporation via the vapour side mass transport. Thereby the vaporization of unwanted flavour components (such as dimethyl sulphide or benzaldehyde) can be influenced negatively or positively, which affects the amount of energy needed. The question is pursued by pre‐calculation and experimental validation of the vapour side mass stream at the evaporation surface: for that purpose vaporescence trials were carried out in a plant trial, with both benzaldehyde and water as pure substances and a mixture of benzaldehyde and water in an infinite solution (xi < 10?6). Trial parameters were process temperature and volume stream of the gas phase. The results obtained by the trials with pure substances enable pre‐calculation of vapour side mass transport. Then, pre‐calculation is compared with the results of the mixture trials and thus verified. As a result it has to be stated that vaporescence in the brew houses is pre‐calculable and that the mass transport has an impact on the vaporescence at the vapour side boundary layer. Consumption of green or black tea has been inversely associated with the development and progression of cardiovascular diseases. In this review, the current knowledge about protective effects of tea and tea constituents, particularly flavonoids, on the cardiovascular system is summarized. Underlying mechanisms for the beneficial effects of tea include vasculoprotective, antioxidative, antithrombogenic, anti-inflammatory, and lipid-lowering properties of tea flavonoids. Although promising experimental data on beneficial effects of tea in various cardiovascular diseases are available, results of clinical studies in humans are not uniform. A number of factors are discussed which may contribute to inconsistent data in humans. Overall, tea represents a promising tool for the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disorders.  相似文献

A mathematical model of the packed bed of a traveling grate pelletizing machine has been written. This model allows simulation of the temperature profiles in the packed bed of the machine while magnetite oxidation occurs. Knowledge of kinetic data for magnetite oxidation of ore balls of the concentrate concerned is required for simulation. Temperatures measured during industrial pot tests compare well with those predicted by the model. Results for ore balls of two concentrates were compared. KARL D. As a growing amount of research attention has been diverted, for a number of reasons, from the traditional protein foods to the so-called unconventional food proteins, an awareness has increased of the need to understand the functional properties of these proteins. Some empirical functionality tests have been devised, but it is submitted that many of these could yield misleading information, inasmuch as they often ignore or even run counter to the environmental interactions to which proteins are exposed in food systems. Some examples are given of the influence of the ionic environment upon one basic functional property of proteins, their solubility in aqueous solution. The SUPRENUM idea, the project, and the system has generally been described and presented in several papers. There is also a great deal of more detailed technical papers describing SUPRENUM as a whole or certain elements of it.

Here we want to give only a very general and rough survey on the essentials of the SUPRENUM system in order to enable the reader to categorize and understand the more specific SUPRENUM papers in this special issue.

Most of the supercomputer applications today are based on grid or grid-like data structures. Grid applications play also an essential role in the SUPRENUM development: in the top-down design of the architecture, in the programming environment, in the parallelization concept of algorithms, and, of course, in the application software development itself. We therefore place some emphasis on this grid orientation in our presentation.  相似文献
