A multi-bed regenerative adsorption chiller design is proposed. The concept aims to extract the most enthalpy from the low-grade waste heat before it is purged into the drain. It is also able to minimise the chilled water temperature fluctuation so that downstream temperature smoothing device may be downsized or even eliminated in applications where tighter temperature control may be required. The design also avoids a master-and-slave configuration so that materials invested are not under-utilised. Because of the nature of low-grade waste heat utilization, the performance of adsorption chillers is measured in terms of the recovery efficiency, η instead of the conventional COP. For the same waste heat source flowrate and inlet temperature, a four-bed chiller generates 70% more cooling capacity than a typical two-bed chiller. A six-bed chiller in turn generates 40% more than that of a four-bed chiller. Since the beds can be triggered into operation sequentially during start-up, the risk of ice formation in the evaporator during start-up is greatly reduced compared with that of a two-bed chiller.  相似文献

Neutral beam (NB) injectors for JT-60 Super Advanced (JT-60SA) have been designed and developed. Twelve positive-ion-based and one negative-ion-based NB injectors are allocated to inject 30 MW D0 beams in total for 100 s. Each of the positive-ion-based NB injector is designed to inject 1.7 MW for 100 s at 85 keV. A part of the power supplies and magnetic shield utilized on JT-60U are upgraded and reused on JT-60SA. To realize the negative-ion-based NB injector for JT-60SA where the injection of 500 keV, 10 MW D0 beams for 100 s is required, R&Ds of the negative ion source have been carried out. High-energy negative ion beams of 490–500 keV have been successfully produced at a beam current of 1–2.8 A through 20% of the total ion extraction area, by improving voltage holding capability of the ion source. This is the first demonstration of a high-current negative ion acceleration of >1 A to 500 keV. The design of the power supplies and the beamline is also in progress. The procurement of the acceleration power supply starts in 2010.  相似文献

Carbon nanotubes (CNT) are known to be materials with potential for manufacturing sub-20 nm high aspect ratio vertical interconnects in future microchips. In order to be successful with respect to contending against established tungsten or copper based interconnects, though, CNT must fulfil their promise of also providing low electrical resistance in integrated structures using scalable integration processes fully compatible with silicon technology. Hence, carefully engineered growth and integration solutions are required before we can fully exploit their potentialities. This work tackles the problem of optimizing a CNT integration process from the electrical perspective. The technique of measuring the CNT resistance as a function of the CNT length is here extended to CNT integrated in vertical contacts. This allows extracting the linear resistivity and the contact resistance of the CNT, two parameters to our knowledge never reported separately for vertical CNT contacts and which are of utmost importance, as they respectively measure the quality of the CNT and that of their metal contacts. The technique proposed allows electrically distinguishing the impact of each processing step individually on the CNT resistivity and the CNT contact resistance. Hence it constitutes a powerful technique for optimizing the process and developing CNT contacts of superior quality. This can be of relevant technological importance not only for interconnects but also for all those applications that rely on the electrical properties of CNT grown with a catalytic chemical vapor deposition method at low temperature.  相似文献

Involuntary movements that resembled the shooting of a basketball and piano playing were observed after brain damage in a 13-year-old female and a 74-year-old female, respectively. The movements were characterized as involuntarily triggered movements that occurred in the presence and absence of exteroceptive stimuli, movements had been practiced repeatedly just before the occurrence of the brain damage, and that could be stopped on command. According to the MRI findings, the lesions extended into the pre-supplementary motor area (pre-SMA). The characteristics of the patients movements were different from previously reported involuntary movements such as compulsive manipulation of tools, utilization behavior, and imitation behavior. Hikosaka et al (1996) reported the role of the pre-SMA in learning new sequential procedures. We speculate that damage to the pre-SMA may be associated with the etiology of these movements.  相似文献

N-Methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptors are modulated by extracellular spermine and protons and are blocked in a voltage-dependent manner by spermine and polyamine derivatives such as N1-dansyl-spermine (N1-DnsSpm). The effects of mutations in the first and third transmembrane domains (M1 and M3) and the pore-forming loop (M2) of NMDA receptor subunits were studied. Surprisingly, some mutations in M2 and M3 of the NR1 subunit, including mutations at W608 and N616 in M2, reduced spermine stimulation and proton inhibition. These mutations may have long-range allosteric effects or may change spermine- and pH-dependent gating processes rather than directly affecting the binding sites for these modulators because spermine stimulation and proton inhibition are not voltage dependent and are thought to involve binding sites outside the pore-forming regions of the receptor. A number of mutations in M1-M3, including mutations at tryptophan and tyrosine residues near the extracellular sides of M1 and M3, reduced block by spermine and N1-DnsSpm. The effects of these mutants on channel block were characterized in detail by using N1-DnsSpm, which produces block but not stimulation of NMDA receptors. Block by N1-DnsSpm was studied by using voltage ramps analyzed with the Woodhull model of channel block. Mutations at W563 (in M1) and E621 (immediately after M2) in the NR1A subunit and at Y646 (in M3) and N616 (in the M2 loop) in the NR2B subunit reduced the affinity for N1-DnsSpm without affecting the voltage dependence of block. These residues may form part of a binding site for N1-DnsSpm. Mutation of a tryptophan residue at position W607 in the M2 region of NR2B greatly reduced block by N1-DnsSpm, and N1-DnsSpm could easily permeate channels containing this mutation. The results suggest that at least parts of the M1 and M3 segments contribute to the pore or vestibule of the NMDA channel and that a tryptophan in M2 (W607 in NR2B) may contribute to the narrow constriction of the pore.  相似文献

A total of 2,825 Japanese over 20 years of age living in the Yaeyama District of Okinawa, Japan were investigated in 1983 and 1984 to determine the prevalence and risk factors of liver abnormalities. Obesity index, hepatitis B virus markers, hepatitis C virus marker and serum transaminase were measured and the history of alcohol intake was recorded. People with elevated transaminase levels were assumed to have abnormalities of the liver. The overall prevalence of liver abnormalities was 3.6% and was significantly higher in men than in women (p < 0.001). Logistic regression analysis showed that the strongest predictors of liver abnormalities were alcohol for the men and obesity for the women. Hepatitis B virus was the second most prevalent risk factor in both sexes.  相似文献
