Mulberry leaf extracts were generated using four concentrations of ethanol (50%, 60%, 70%, and 95% v/v). A 60% ethanolic mulberry leaf extract (60E) yielded a high total phenolic content (TPC) and antioxidant activity using 1, 1‐diphenyl‐2‐picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging and a ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) assay. Coating materials were derived using a combination of soy protein isolates (SPI) and low methoxyl (LM) pectin in a 1:1 ratio. The effect of various parameters on microencapsulation, such as pH (3.5, 4.0, and 4.5) and the concentration of coating materials (2.5, 5.0 and 7.5% w/v), was studied. Microcapsules produced using 60E as a core material at pH 4.0 with 7.5% of coating material showed a high encapsulation yield, encapsulation efficiency, TPC and antioxidant activity.  相似文献

We have investigated the adsorption of some amino acids and an oligopeptide by fullerene (C60) and fullerene nanowhiskers (FNWs). C60 and FNWs hardly adsorbed amino acids. Most of the amino acids used have a hydrophobic side chain. Ala and Val, with an alkyl chain, were not adsorbed by the C60 or FNWs. Trp, Phe and Pro, with a cyclic structure, were not adsorbed by them either. The aromatic group of C60 did not interact with the side chain. The carboxyl or amino group, with the frame structure of an amino acid, has a positive or negative charge in solution. It is likely that the C60 and FNWs would not prefer the charged carboxyl or amino group. Tri-Ala was adsorbed slightly by the C60 and FNWs. The carboxyl or amino group is not close to the center of the methyl group of Tri-Ala. One of the methyl groups in Tri-Ala would interact with the aromatic structure of the C60 and FNWs. We compared our results with the theoretical interaction of 20 bio-amino acids with C60. The theoretical simulations showed the bonding distance between C60 and an amino acid and the dissociation energy. The dissociation energy was shown to increase in the order, Val < Phe < Pro < Asp < Ala < Trp < Tyr < Arg < Leu. However, the simulation was not consistent with our experimental results. The adsorption of albumin (a protein) by C60 showed the effect on the side chains of Try and Trp. The structure of albumin was changed a little by C60. In our study Try and Tyr were hardly adsorbed by C60 and FNWs. These amino acids did not show a different adsorption behavior compared with other amino acids. The adsorptive behavior of mono-amino acids might be different from that of polypeptides.  相似文献

An Al/glass joint created by using ultrasonic welding was analyzed by means of multiscale observation techniques. A cross-sectional analysis of the microstructure revealed that a directly joined interface without reaction phases formed at the periphery of a round joined region. The size of Al grains markedly decreased after ultrasonic welding and some subgrains were observed along the interface. The finer Al grains observed around the periphery of the joined interface showed active plastic flow that promoted welding.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Accurate data of gamma-ray emission probabilities are frequently needed when one quantitatively determines the amount of isotope by gamma-ray measurements or obtains neutron capture cross-sections using them. Americium-243, one of the most important minor actinides, produces 244Am after neutron capture. The 744-keV gamma-ray decaying from the ground state of 244Am has a relatively large gamma-ray emission probability about 66%; however, its uncertainty is as large as 29%. The uncertainty of the gamma-ray emission probability leads to a major factor of the systematic uncertainty on determining an amount of isotope, and therefore the gamma-ray emission probability was measured by using an activation method and an examined level structure of 244Cm. In this study, the emission probability of 744-keV gamma-ray was derived as 66.5 ± 1.1%, and its uncertainty was improved from 29% to 2%.  相似文献

Amplified spontaneous Raman scattered light power in forward and backward Raman amplifiers is theoretically and experimentally studied under the assumption of the constant Raman gain coefficient in the bandwidth of an optical filter. On the basis of the results, the power ratio of the amplified signal to amplified spontaneous scattering is discussed. As a result, it is clarified that the effect of amplified spontaneous Raman scattering on the signal to noise ratio for backward Raman scattering is larger than for forward Raman scattering.  相似文献

Between 1982 and 1991, 24 patients with advanced testicular germ cell tumor were treated by combination chemotherapy with cisplatin, vinblastine and bleomycin (PVB). Based on short-term efficacy of the PVB regimen and long-term prognosis in our patients, we evaluated 4 risk criteria proposed by Indiana University, National Cancer Institute (NCI), Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) and European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC). Clinical staging were IIA in 8 patients, IIB in 8, IIIA in 1, IIIB in 5 and IIIC in 2. Metastases included retroperitoneal lymph node in 20 cases (> 5 cm in 10), lung in 6, bone and liver in each 1. Complete response (CR) was obtained in 12 (50%) patients and partial response (PR) in 9 (38%). According to the stage and metastatic site, CR was achieved in 75%, 38% and 38%of the stage IIA, IIB and III tumors, respectively, and in 60% and 50% of retroperitoneal and pulmonary metastases, respectively. However, neither CR nor PR was recognized for live and bone metastases. Prognosis was assessed with a mean followup period of 88.5 months. Although all 12 patients with CR were alive, 4 of the 9 with PR and all patients on whom the drug was ineffective died of cancer. Accuracy in predicting prognosis was 82%, 75%, 74%, and 63% using the MSKCC, Indiana, NCI and EORTC risk criteria, respectively.  相似文献
