Polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDDs) and coplanar polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) contribute to dioxin toxicity in humans and wildlife after bioaccumulation through the food chain from the environment. The authors examined human and rat cytochrome P450 (CYP)-dependent metabolism of PCDDs and PCBs. A number of human CYP isoforms belonging to the CYP1 and CYP2 families showed remarkable activities toward low-chlorinated PCDDs. In particular, human CYP1A1, CYP1A2, and CYP1B1 showed high activities toward monoCDDs, diCDDs, and triCDDs but no detectable activity toward 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin (2,3,7,8-tetraCDD). Large amino acids located at putative substrate-recognition sites and the F-G loop in rat CYP1A1 contributed to the successful metabolism of 2,3,7,8-tetraCDD. Rat, but not human, CYP1A1 metabolized 3,3'',4,4'',5-pentachlorobiphenyl (CB126) to two hydroxylated metabolites. These metabolites are probably less toxic than is CB126, due to their higher solubility. Homology models of human and rat CYP1A1s and CB126 docking studies indicated that two amino acid differences in the CB126-binding cavity were important for CB126 metabolism. In this review, the importance of CYPs in the metabolism of dioxins and PCBs in mammals and the species-based differences between humans and rats are described. In addition, the authors reveal the molecular mechanism behind the binding modes of dioxins and PCBs in the heme pocket of CYPs. 相似文献

Solar-to-hydrogen conversion efficiencies of water-splitting photochathodes using epitaxially grown p-type 4H-, 6H- and 3C-SiC were estimated in a two-electrode system without applying any external bias. By using electrode materials with small oxygen overpotentials as counter electrodes, the photocurrent became comparable to that observed in a three-electrode system with a suitable bias. Estimated efficiencies seem to depend on the bandgap of the SiC polytypes. For the 3C-SiC, the obtained efficiency was 0.38%, which is so far the highest value reported for SiC. We confirmed that the hydrogen volumes estimated from the photocurrent were almost the same as actual volumes observed by gas chromatography. 相似文献

Autonomous control of vehicles has recently attracted considerable attention. In this sense, vehicle merging has become an important topic in this field of research. However, in conventional studies, the controlled vehicle must calculate the movement of other surrounding vehicles to complete the merge, requiring high computational costs. In this paper, we focus on dragonfly behavior to solve this issue. Indeed, insects can behave adaptively in the complex real world in spite of the limited size of their brains. They reduce the computational requirements of their brain by relying on different properties of their surroundings, basing their intelligent behaviors on simple strategies. The behavior of a dragonfly when chasing a prey is an example of these strategies. In this study, we address the vehicle merging maneuver by applying dragonfly’s strategies to control the movement of the merging vehicle. We propose a simple control method inspired by the aforementioned strategies and, finally, we present simulation results that were conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of this method. 相似文献

To develop a soft meat product for a dysphagia diet, high-pressure technology was applied. Pressure-heat-treated ground pork meat (PH) was prepared from ground pork mixed with water (ground meat: water, 1:0.5 or 1:1) and salt (1.5%). PH-gels were made from these meat homogenates by treatment at 400 MPa for 20 min, followed by heat treatment. Heat-treated pork meat homogenates (H) were also prepared. The hardness and adhesiveness of the 1:1PH-gel was lower than those of the 1:1H-gel. The PH-gel scored higher in sensory evaluations of elasticity, smoothness and ease of swallowing. Scanning electron micrographs indicated that the superior textural property of the 1:1PH-gel was caused by a network of myosin filaments. Videofluoroscopic examination of swallowing revealed that the 1:1PH-gel was easy to swallow and left little residue in the oropharynx. Electron-beam-cured polycarbosilane fibers were heat-treated at 673–1773 K in a tube evacuated to 1.3 × 10−1 Pa and then exposed at 1873 K in argon. The effect of vacuum heat treatment on improving the high-temperature stability of low-oxygen SiC fibers was investigated by examining gas evolution, grain growth, surface composition, tensile strength, and morphology. The fibers heat-treated at <1173 K lost strength, because of the vigorous generation of residual hydrogen. A minute amount of oxygen in the atmosphere caused the active oxidation of SiC during heat treatment at >1673 K, resulting in severe strength degradation for the as-heat-treated fibers. Vacuum heat treatment at 1573 K provided the best characteristics in low-oxygen SiC fibers. 相似文献

The ML module system facilitates the modular development of large programs, through decomposition, abstraction and reuse. To increase its flexibility, a lot of work has been devoted to extending it with recursion, which is currently prohibited. The introduction of recursion adds expressivity to the module system. However it also creates problems that a non-recursive module system does not have. In this paper, we address one such problem, namely resolution of path references. Paths are how one refers to nested modules in ML. Without recursion, well-typedness guarantees termination of path resolution, in other words, we can statically determine the module that a path refers to. This does not always hold with recursive module extensions, since the module system then can encode a lambda-calculus with recursion, whose termination is undecidable regardless of well-typedness. We formalize this problem of path resolution by means of a rewrite system on paths and prove that the problem is undecidable even without higher-order functors, via an encoding of the Turing machine into a calculus with just recursive modules, first-order functors, and nesting. Motivated by this result, we introduce a further restriction on first-order functors, limiting polymorphism on functor parameters by requiring signatures for functor parameters to be non-recursive, and show that this restriction is decidable and admits terminating path resolution. 相似文献

Ionic liquid/polyvinylidene fluoride composite membrane was successfully prepared by impregnation method and used for the separation on organic chemical hydride process. The separation factors of C6H6/H2 and C6H12/H2 in the ternary mixture system were 7500 and 300, respectively.
