Commercial alumina powder was densified by spark plasma sintering (SPS) at 1150 °C. During SPS processing, the effects of the heating rate were examined on microstructure and transparency. With decreasing heating rate, the grain size and the residual porosity decreased, while the transparency increased. At a heating rate of 2 °C/min, the grain size was 0.29 μm, and the in-line transmission was 46% for a wavelength of 640 nm. The mechanisms for the fine microstructure and low porosity at slow heating, which are conflicting with some existing results, were explained by considering the role of defect concentration and grain-boundary diffusion during densification.  相似文献

A winding‐current interference model of self‐sensing magnetic bearings (AMBs) and an improvement technique of position‐sensing characteristics are proposed. In the self‐sensing AMB systems, the electromagnets work not only as actuators suspending the rotor but also as position sensors. The self‐sensing position signal, however, includes errors because of nonlinearity of the magnetic circuits. In the proposed model, the current is directly transmitted to the self‐sensing position signal. This transmission means degradation of the self‐sensing characteristics. This winding‐current interference to the self‐sensing signal is reduced by the proposed compensation method. The characteristics of the proposed self‐sensing method agree well with a reference sensor signal up to over 1 kHz. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A new FDTD algorithm is proposed for analyzing ultrasonic pulse propagation in the human body, a problem connected with ESWL (extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy). In this method, we do not use plane wave approximation but directly employ the original equations, taking into account the Lagrangian to derive new FDTD algorithms. This method is applied to an experimental setup and its numerical model that resembles an actual treatment situation in order to compare the sound pressure distributions obtained numerically with those obtained experimentally. The present method is shown to give clearly better results than the earlier method, from the point of view of the numerical reappearance of a strongly nonlinear waveform. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Penetration of liquid by passive impregnation method for Douglas-fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii Franco), sugi (Cryptomeria japonica D. Don) and Japanese larch (Larix leptolepis Gordon) was studied. Effects of initial moisture content of sugi (16, 43 and 70% moisture content) on liquid penetration were also studied. Dried Douglas-fir (mc=14%) and sugi (mc=16%), and green Japanese larch (mc=45%) and sugi (mc=70%) were treated by passive impregnation method for penetration analysis. It was observed that dried sugi had the highest level of liquid penetration both in length (170 mm) and width (8 mm) for all measured sections followed by green sugi, green Japanese larch and dried Douglas-fir. In case of different initial moisture content, the highest absorption (624 kg/m3) and penetration (maximum 87 and 96% at cross and longitudinal surfaces, respectively) was observed for sugi having the lowest initial moisture content under the same passive impregnation conditions. Absorption and penetration decreased with the increase of initial moisture content for sugi. These results could help in designing incising pattern and density, as well as solving the problems related to high initial moisture content of wood for passive impregnation.  相似文献

Use of a lamination process for the introduction of Au electrode, instead of conventional metal evaporation, improved the power conversion efficiency (PCE) of inverted-structure photovoltaic devices from 1.6% to 2.6% based on a bulk heterojunction of poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) and (6,6)-phenyl C61 butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM). X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy indicated that a thin layer of P3HT is spontaneously formed at the air/polymer blend layer interface during the spin-coating process. It is suggested that the vacuum-evaporated gold could destroy the surface-segregated thin layer of P3HT, while the lamination process preserves the surface structure working as an electron-blocking layer. The insertion of a PEDOT:PSS layer, between the metal electrode and polymer layer, in the lamination process further improved the PCE to 3.3% with a short-circuit current density of 9.94 mA cm−2, an open-circuit voltage of 0.60 V, and a fill factor of 55% under AM1.5 100 mW cm−2 irradiation.  相似文献

When the excited triplet states of disperse azo dyes with nitro groups abstract hydrogen to generate hydrazinyl (from azo groups) and nitrosyl hydroxide radicals (from nitro groups), both the radicals as H‐acceptors carry out azo scission, conversion to nitrogen dioxide via disproportionation reactions and self‐decomposition via rearrangement. A kinetic equation was formulated by the sum of these reactions, which describes the initial rates (KPA) of reductive fading. The KPA values were controlled by the rate constants of the reactions of hydrazinyl and nitrosyl hydroxide radicals as H‐acceptors, which were estimated by thermochemical analyses of the reactants, intermediates and end products using the semiempirical molecular orbital PM5 method, and by the concentrations of the reactants: H‐acceptors and H‐donors. The KPA values observed for 12 dyes were explained semi‐quantitatively by multiple routes of reactions depending upon to what extent each radical reaction was thermochemically favoured.  相似文献

Water-soluble chitin was successfully crosslinked to varying extents with glutaraldehyde in homogeneous aqueous solutions to improve the properties as an adsorbent for metal cations, and the effects of crosslinking were discussed. Complete insolubilization was achieved with the fivefold excess aldehyde, but, in terms of adsorptivity of Cu2+, the chitin crosslinked at an aldehyde/amino group ratio of 1.0 was found to exhibit remarkable capacity and was much superior to others. The desorption of Cu2+ from the adsorption complex was also attained effectively at pH 2.0. These results indicated that the loose crosslinking was quite simple and efficient to produce high capacity adsorbents for practical use. Thermal behavior of the crosslinked chitin was examined by TMA and TGA; a softening phenomenon was observed at 145°C.  相似文献

The diffusion of a reactive disperse dye with a vinylsulfonyl group accompanied by simultaneous reaction with the amino end groups in nylon 6 was examined by the method of cylindrical film roll at 70°C and pH 2.2–8.0. The experimental diffusion profiles of the active and fixed species of the dye in nylon 6 were confirmed to be described by the diffusion equation accompanied by the chemical reaction with substrate taking the limited amount of the end groups into account, where the active species of dye were assumed to react only with the free base of amino end groups. The completion of the reaction with the amino end groups was observed in the first layer from the surface at pH 6.0–8.0. The value of diffusion coefficient was constant (8.0 × 10?10 cm2/s) at all the pH's. The product of the second-order rate constant, k2, of reaction of the dye and the dissociation constant, Ka, of the amino end groups was constant (k2Ka = 4.0 × 10?9 s?1) at pH 2.2–8.0. The k2 values of the reaction with various substrates for vinylsulfonyl and monochlorotriazinyl-reactive dyes were compared and the practical dyeing conditions were discussed.  相似文献

The diffusion and adsorption of C.I. Direct Yellow 12 and Blue 15 in water-swollen ordinary cellophane sheets were examined at various ionic strengths. The concentration dependence of apparent diffusion coefficients, Dc, for these dyes was obtained from the diffusion profiles in the substrate, which were measured by the use of the cylindrical film roll method. The decrease of apparent porosity with an increase in the amounts of adsorption was observed. To explain the diffusion/adsorption behaviors of these systems, a variable porosity model was proposed and was applied to analyze the concentration dependence of Dc's. The diffusion/adsorption behaviors of these dyes could be quantitatively described by this model at relatively low ionic strengths. At higher ionic strengths and/or lower values of C, i.e., at the large values of Cim/Cm, where the C's are the concentrations of immobilized (suffix im) and mobile (suffix m) species, it needed to introduce the concept of dynamic equilibria which occurred simultaneously with diffusion but deviated from the true equiliblia measured by the adsorption experiments.  相似文献

Time course changes in amounts of glutamic acid, total free amino acid, inosine monophosphate (IMP), and 2%-trichloroacetic acid-soluble oligopeptides in whole, muscle only, and cooking juice during wet-heat cooking in pork longissimus and biceps femoris muscles were investigated because the movements of umami-relevant substances during cooking treatment had not previously been clarified in detail. The amounts of glutamic acid, total free amino acid, and IMP significantly (P<.05) decreased and increased in muscle and cooking juice during 180min of cooking, respectively. The whole amounts of glutamic acid and total free amino acid remained unchanged during cooking treatment. The whole amount of IMP, however, increased significantly at 10min of cooking (P<.05) and was maintained after the 10-min period. The extramuscular oligopeptides amount increased significantly in response to the cooking treatment (P<.05). The intramuscular amount of oligopeptides decreased at 30min of cooking but increased significantly (P<.05) after 60min. The whole meat oligopeptides amount increased significantly during a 180-min cooking treatment (P<.05). These results indicate that glutamate, total free amino acid, and IMP were released from the muscle during cooking, and that IMP levels increased in the initial phase of cooking. In addition, oligopeptides increased during wet-heat cooking of pork muscles.  相似文献
