A number of orthoses have been developed to restore stance and walking in paraplegic subjects. Compliance, however, has been limited, mainly owing to walking effort. Use of the forces produced by actuators is an effective way to solve the problem of the considerable effort required for orthotic gait, namely high muscular effort and high energy expenditure. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effects of assistance by external actuators on the orthotic gait of spinal cord injury (SCI) patients. Two kinds of linear actuator were developed by using direct current (d.c.) motors for assisting the knee and hip joint of a gait orthosis. They were mounted on the knee and hip joint of a commercial advanced reciprocating gait orthosis (ARGO), and a new two-degree-of-freedom externally powered gait orthosis was thus developed. The orthosis was assessed through inter-subject experiments on five male adult complete SCI patients. Owing to the short training period available for the assisted gait, simultaneous operation of both joint actuators was not conducted: either the knee actuation or the hip actuation was executed only. Thus, the knee actuator and the hip actuator were assessed with a T12 subject and with subjects for T5, T8, T11, and T12 respectively. The motions of the gaits, assisted by the linear actuators, were measured by a Vicon 370 system, and the general gait parameters and compensatory motions were evaluated. Results demonstrated that (a) all subjects could walk without falling, assisted either by the knee or the hip actuator; (b) both the knee and hip joint actuator increased the gait speed and the step length; (c) the knee flexion produced by the orthosis improved the dynamic cosmesis of walking; and (d) lateral compensatory motions as well as vertical ones tended to decrease when the hip joint was assisted, which could contribute to a reduction in walking effort.  相似文献

Our crystalline In–Ga–Zn oxide (IGZO) thin film has a c‐axis‐aligned crystal (CAAC) structure and maintains crystallinity even on an amorphous base layer. Although the crystal has c‐axis alignment, its a‐axis and b‐axis have random arrangement; moreover, a clear grain boundary is not observed. We fabricated a back‐channel‐etched thin‐film transistor (TFT) using the CAAC‐IGZO film. Using the CAAC‐IGZO film, more stable TFT characteristics, even with a short channel length, can be obtained, and the instability of the back channel, which is one of the biggest problems of IGZO TFTs, is solved. As a result, we improved the process of manufacturing back‐channel‐etched TFTs.  相似文献

Recently, it was found that undoped semi-insulating InP can be obtained by highpressure annealing of high purity materials. The reproducibility and the uniformity was, however, not satisfactory. In the present work, we found that not only Fe concentrations but also Cr and Ni concentrations in annealed wafers were slightly increased during annealing. Since it seems that the origin of the contamination was due to the vapor source of red phosphorus, conductive InP with a trace amount of Fe was annealed under low phosphorus vapor pressure in order to reduce the contamination. By preventing the contamination of Cr and Ni, preparation of semi-insulating InP became highly reproducible. The minimum Fe concentration for realizing semi-insulating InP was found to be 1 x 1015cm−3. It was also found that the better resistivity uniformity can be obtained at higher annealing temperatures.  相似文献

A tapped delayed line adaptive array antenna (TDL-AAA) and a space-temporal simultaneous processing equalizer (ST-SPE) are proposed as simple space-temporal equalizers based on minimum mean square error (MMSE) criterion. The ST-SPE has a compact hardware with a small number of taps compared to that of the TDL-AAA. The ST-SPE can reduce the computational complexity of the space-temporal joint equalization and it works effectively under the minimum phase condition such as appeared at line-of-sight (LOS) propagation environments at a high antenna height base station. However the ST-SPE cannot work under a non-minimum phase condition caused under N-LOS (non-line-of-sight). On the other hand, the TDL-AAA whose reference signal is synchronized at the center tap (TDL-AAAC) can work even in the non-minimum phase condition. In this paper, we propose a dual-mode space-temporal simultaneous processing equalizer (Dual-mode ST-SPE) which has a simple configuration and also works in non-minimum phase condition. The Dual-mode ST-SPE can reduce the computational complexity compared to the TDL-AAAC. Yoshihiro Ichikawa received the B.E. degree in department of communication engineering, in National Defense Academy in 1995, and M.E. and D.E. degree from Ibaraki University in 2001 and 2004, respectively. He joined the Japan Air Self Defense Force in 1995. His research interests are an adaptive algorithm, an antenna design, and an adaptive array antenna. Shigeki Obote received his B.E., M.E. and D.E. degrees in electrical and electronic engineering from Tottori University, Tottori, Japan, in 1996, 1998 and 2000, respectively. Since 2000, he has been with department of media and telecommunications engineering, faculty of engineering, Ibaraki University, Ibaraki, Japan, where he is currently a associate professor. His research interests are in adaptive array antenna and wireless communications systems. Kenichi Kagoshima received the B.E., M.E. and D.E. degrees in electronics engineering from the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Tokyo, Japan, in 1969, 1971, and 1974, respectively. He joined the Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT) Laboratory in 1974 and researched and developed many kinds of radio communication antennas. Since 1997, he has been a professor at Ibaraki University, Ibaraki, Japan. Dr. Kagoshima was a Secretary and Treasure, Vice Chairman, and Chairman of the IEEE AP-S Tokyo Chapter in 1992, 1993, and 1994, respectively. He was a chair of antennas and propagation professional group of IEICE in 1999 and 2000. In 1973, he received the Yonezawa Prize for Young Engineers and 1998, best paper award from IEICE, respectively.  相似文献

The capacity of distributed generators (DGs) connected to the grid by inverters is growing year after year. The inverters are generally controlled by a phase locked loop (PLL) in order to achieve synchronization with the power system frequency. Power systems may become unstable as the capacity of the inverter‐type DGs continues to increase, because the inverter frequency is controlled just to follow the frequency determined by other synchronous generators. It has been suggested that inverters be controlled to behave like a synchronous generator. This concept is referred to as the virtual synchronous generator (VSG). In this paper, a control scheme for a VSG is presented, and the design method for the required energy storage and the capacity for grid stabilization control by a VSG is investigated by computer simulations.  相似文献

This paper derives performance limitations for disturbance rejection of scalar systems under information constraints subject to either bounded or Gaussian disturbances. Two kinds of disturbance are treated in a unified manner, using appropriate entropies and distortions. It is shown that the achievable performance cannot be improved even if the maximum information constraint is relaxed to an average information constraint. Another observation is that, while the information constraints are weaker than bit-rate or signal-to-noise ratio constraints on the communication channel, the same performance levels are achieved by the best encoder and decoder for disturbance rejection with the information constraints.  相似文献

Xyloglucan is a major hemicellulosic component in plant cell walls. Phytopathogenic fungi secrete cell wall-degrading enzymes on their infection to hosts, while the nature of the cell wall-lytic enzymes of such fungi are yet to be fully understood. Verticillium dahliae is a soil-borne fungus that causes vascular wilt diseases in a variety of commercially important crops worldwide. We purified two types of xyloglucanases, XEG12A and XEG74B, from the culture of naturally isolated Verticillium dahliae strain 2148. XEG12A showed a molecular size of 23 kDa with its maximal activity at pH 7.5. XEG12A specifically hydrolyzed xyloglucan with no activity on other β-glucans. XEG74B had a molecular size of 110 kDa with its optimum pH at 6.0. XEG74B primarily hydrolyzed xyloglucan, with a slight activity on β-1,3-1,4-glucan. Analysis of hydrolytic products of xyloglucanooligasaccharide (XXXGXXXG) by matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS) revealed that the both enzymes cleaved β-1,4-glucosidic linkage at the position of unbranched chain, while XEG74B showed a little fluctuation with the cleavage site. Both enzymes did not hydrolyzed xyloglucanoheptasaccharide (XXXG) at all. N-Terminal and internal amino acid sequencing of the enzymes revealed that XEG12A and XEG74B belonged to Glycoside Hydrolase (GH) Families 12 and 74, respectively. Based on these results we concluded that V. dahliae XEG12A and XEG74B were xyloglucan-specific endo-β-1,4-glucanases (EC 3.2.1.151).  相似文献

This paper gives an account of our recent studies on the mechanisms for chiral selection in super-coiling and wrapping of DNA. We first present a compact model of double-stranded DNA (Model 1), which consists of two elastic chains that mutually intertwine in a right-handed manner to form a double-stranded helix. Numerical analysis of this model suggests an intrinsic propensity of DNA to writhe in the left direction upon bending. Based on this asymmetric elasticity of DNA, we present a further simplified model of DNA (Model 2), which is a single-chained homopolymer with the propensity to writhe in the left direction upon bending. This simplified model is incorporated into a Langevin dynamics study to explore the origin of the uniform left-handed wrapping of DNA around a nucleosome core particle in nature. We finally show that the propensity of DNA to writhe in the left direction upon bending gives rise to the selective left-handed wrapping, provided that the size of the core particle is appropriate. This result suggests the fundamental significance of the asymmetric elasticity of helical biopolymers in their structural dynamics and functions.  相似文献

This article presents multiple potential uses of the Yakushima native cedar (Cryptomeria japonica), known in Japan as the Yaku-sugi tree. The Yaku-sugi was divided into four parts: leaves, branches with leaves, branches, and stems. We obtained the essential oil, hydrosol, distillation residue, and distillation wastewater from the trees. Essential oil and hydrosol were determined to be volatile organic compounds. All samples were screened for the following bioactivities: antioxidative, antibacterial, and anti-melanogenesis activities. Freeze-dried distillation residue was tested to assess whether it had a deodorizing effect. The main component of the leaf essential oil was found to be monoterpenes. In contrast, the stem essential oil mainly contained sesquiterpenes. In terms of bioactivities, the leaf essential oil showed antibacterial activity and the stem essential oil showed anti-melanogenesis activity. Distillation residue and wastewater showed many activities, including antioxidant, antibacterial, and anti-melanogenesis activities. Moreover, the residue had a deodorizing effect against ammonia.  相似文献
