MAMMOS(Magnetic Amplifying Magneto- Optical System:磁畴扩大磁光系统 )是实现高密度磁光盘的有效方法。不仅能得到不依赖于磁畴长度的较大的读出信号振幅,而且还能实现超出光学系统衍射极限的分辨率。过去,为实现磁畴的复印与扩大,要对记录膜面施加垂直方向的外部磁场。而现在得知,同时施加垂直磁场和水平方向的磁场,可大幅度地提高微小磁畴的读出特性。确认采用施加水平磁场的方法,在λ =635 nm, NA=0.55的条件下, 0.15μ m的连续磁畴也能获得 BER=2× 10- 4的读出效果。  相似文献

The Mycobacterium tuberculosis Ser/Thr kinase PknB is implicated in the regulation of bacterial cell growth and cell division. The intracellular kinase function of PknB is thought to be triggered by peptidoglycan (PGN) fragments that are recognized by the extracytoplasmic domain of PknB. The PGN in the cell wall of M. tuberculosis has several unusual modifications, including the presence of N-glycolyl groups (in addition to N-acetyl groups) in the muramic acid residues and amidation of d -Glu in the peptide chains. Using synthetic PGN fragments incorporating these diverse PGN structures, we analyzed their binding characters through biolayer interferometry (BLI), NMR spectroscopy, and native mass spectrometry (nMS) techniques. The results of BLI showed that muropeptides containing 1,6-anhydro-MurNAc and longer glycan chains exhibited higher binding potency and that the fourth amino acid of the peptide stem, d -Ala, was crucial for protein recognition. Saturation transfer difference (STD) NMR spectroscopy indicated the major involvement of the stem peptide region in the PASTA-PGN fragment binding. nMS suggested that the binding stoichiometry was 1:1. The data provide the first molecular basis for the specific interaction of PGN with PknB and firmly establish PGNs as the effective ligands of PknB.  相似文献

Cysteine and methionine, two sulfur-containing amino acids (AA), were introduced in their surfactant forms as potential antioxidants. The antioxidative (AOX) properties of lauroyl methionine (C12-Met) and lauroyl cysteine (C12-Cys) was investigated by means of the oxygen radical absorbance capacity assay. Both the surfactants exhibited excellent AOX behavior at the premicellar state and micellar medium. The AOX behavior was found to be comparable for both the surfactants at their premicellar states. However, in micellar medium, C12-Met showed better AOX property than C12-Cys. The AOX power of the surfactants was compared with other previously developed AA-type surfactants. The order of the AOX power was found to be: C12-tryptophan > C12-tyrosine ≈ C12-methionine ≈ C12-cysteine > C12-histidine at the premicellar state and C12-tryptophan > C12-tyrosine > C12-methionine > C12-cysteine > C12-histidine at the micellar state. C12-Cys displayed lower AOX property in micellar medium due to its dimer formation tendency. Based on the HPLC and UPLC-Q-TOF-MS analysis, the dimer formation of C12-Cys was found to be accelerated due to the micellar environment and results into negative synergistic effect on other aromatic AA-type surfactants. However, the presence of C12-His in the micellar solution of C12-Cys resulted no synergistic effect due to stronger H-bonding between the surfactants and resulting less dimer formation.  相似文献

Carbohydrates, fats, and proteins are the underlying energy sources for animals and are catabolized through specific biochemical cascades involving numerous enzymes. The catabolites and metabolites in these metabolic pathways are crucial for many cellular functions; therefore, an imbalance and/or dysregulation of these pathways causes cellular dysfunction, resulting in various metabolic diseases. Bone, a highly mineralized organ that serves as a skeleton of the body, undergoes continuous active turnover, which is required for the maintenance of healthy bony components through the deposition and resorption of bone matrix and minerals. This highly coordinated event is regulated throughout life by bone cells such as osteoblasts, osteoclasts, and osteocytes, and requires synchronized activities from different metabolic pathways. Here, we aim to provide a comprehensive review of the cellular metabolism involved in bone development and homeostasis, as revealed by mouse genetic studies.  相似文献

The electrochemical reduction of CO2 on a Cu electrode was investigated in aqueous NaHCO3 solution, at low temperature. A divided H-type cell was employed, the catholyte was 0.65 mol dm−3 NaHCO3 aqueous solution and the anolyte was 1.1 mol dm−3 KHCO3 aqueous solution. The temperature during the electrolysis of CO2 was decreased stepwise to 271 K. Methane and formic acid were obtained as the main products. The maximum Faradaic efficiency of methane was 46% at −2.0 V and 271 K. The efficiency of hydrogen formation, a competing reaction of CO2 reduction, was significantly depressed with decreasing temperature. Based on the results of this work, the proposed electrochemical method appears to be a viable means for removing CO2 from the atmosphere and converting it into more valuable chemicals. The synthesis of methane by the electrochemical method might be of practical interest for fuel production and the storage of solar energy.  相似文献

Thin metal films often exhibit interesting properties that are essentially different from the bulk ones. XAFS (X-ray absorption fine structure) and XMCD (X-ray magnetic circular dichroism) techniques are quite suitable to investigate structural, thermal and magnetic properties of thin metal films. In this proceeding, we will present following two topics concerning structural and magnetic properties of adsorbates on thin metal films. The first one is the adsorption geometry of SO2 on a 1-monolayer (ML) Pd thin film grown on a Ni(111) single crystal. It was found by S K-edge XAFS that SO2 is lying flat on 1-ML Pd/Ni(111). This result is not similar to the bulk Pd surface but to the bulk Ni one. This finding indicates significant modification of the electronic structure of the 1-ML Pd film compared to the bulk one. The second topic is the magnetic moment induced on CO adsorbed on Ni epitaxial films grown on Cu(001). The O K-edge XMCD results revealed that in the perpendicularly magnetized 10-ML Ni film the orbital moment of CO is parallel to the substrate Ni magnetization, while it is antiparallel in the in-planar magnetized 6-ML and thick (>100 ML) films. The origin of the induced orbital moment at CO is discussed.  相似文献

Light-induced crosslinking of poly(p-hydroxystyrene) (PPHS) is significantly enhanced by O2. This was evidenced by molar mass (light scattering measurements) and by gel content determinations which were performed on various polymer samples before and after continuous irradiation at λinc = 254 nm. The following mechanism was elucidated with the aid of flash photolysis studies: Crosslinking in the absence or presence of O2 is mainly due to the combination of phenoxyl type radicals. In the absence of O2 the latter are exclusively formed by O? H bond cleavage of singlet excited phenolic groups. Triplet excited phenolic groups which are also formed do not deactivate via O? H bond cleavage but react very effectively with O2. This reaction leads to the formation of HO and additional phenoxyl type radicals. All Commercial and most laboratory-prepared PPHS samples contain chemically bound impurities of quinoid nature. On the basis of results performed with model compounds of low molar mass, it is concluded that triplet excited quinoid groups react effectively with phenolic groups forming phenoxyl type radicals and that they are quite unreactive with respect to the abstraction of alphatic hydrogen atoms. Irradiation of PPHS at λinc = 254 nm causes the formation of quinoid groups which absorb strongly at this wavelength. Light absorption by these groups becomes a determining factor with respect to photochemical alteration in the course of further irradiation.  相似文献

Flat packages (FPs) were formed from epoxy molding compounds with various physical properties using a transfer molding machine. The compounds were prepared by changing kinds and amounts of additives and addition methods. The thermal shock test was carried out by the following procedures. The plastic package was soaked alternately in liquid nitrogen (?196°) and in liquid solder (200°) in the cycle of 140s. The median life to crack initiation was defined to be the cycles when half of the specimens exhibited crack initiation. According to linear fracture mechanics, the following expression was obtained relating the median life N, thermal stress σt, and strength σb; N = C/σ·(σbt)m. We found the linear relation between logarithm of Nσ and logarithm of σbt for various packages, and estimated the values of C and m as 5 × 104 MPa2 and 5.5, respectively. The value of m was the same as that obtained for a dual-in-line package.  相似文献

Functional protein synthesis was observed in cell-sized lipid vesicles following encapsulation of a gene-expression system. Expression of rsGFP (red-shifted green fluorescent protein) within individual vesicles was observed by fluorescence microscopy. Interestingly, at the early stage of the reaction, the expression efficiency inside the vesicle was remarkably higher than that in the solution outside. The synthesized rsGFP in individual vesicles is safe from attack by proteinase K added to the external aqueous solution. Studies on cell-sized vesicles expressing protein should contribute to a fundamental understanding of certain aspects of living systems and will be useful for practical applications, such as the construction of microreactors.  相似文献

A versatile solid‐phase approach based on peptide chemistry was used to construct four classes of structurally diverse polyamines with modified backbones: linear, partially constrained, branched, and cyclic. Their effects on DNA duplex stability and structure were examined. The polyamines showed distinct activities, thus highlighting the importance of polyamine backbone structure. Interestingly, the rank order of polyamine ability for DNA compaction was different to that for their effects on circular dichroism and melting temperature, thus indicating that these polyamines have distinct effects on secondary and higher‐order structures of DNA.  相似文献
