A transmission electron microscope (TEM) sample for observing photocatalysis in a liquid was prepared by using N,N,N-trimetyl-N-propylammonium-bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide. The ionic liquid (IL) was used as a reaction solvent. Tetrachloroauric acid was dissolved in the IL as gold ion species. Rutile particles were added in the solution as a photocatalyst. The low vapor pressure of the IL enables a diffusing system in high vacuum of TEM. Rutile particles were UV irradiated in that liquid phase. After 3 h UV irradiation, a gold particle of 8 nm diameter was grown on the TiO2 surface. Photonucleation of Au/TiO2 system was discussed from the high-resolution TEM images.  相似文献

Cyclic voltammetry at micropipet electrodes is applied to the kinetic study of ion transfer at liquid/liquid interfaces. Simple and facilitated transfer of an ion that is initially present outside a tapered pipet was simulated by the finite element method, enabling complete analysis of the resulting transient cyclic voltammogram (CV) with a sigmoidal forward wave followed by a peak-shaped reverse wave. Without serious effects of uncompensated ohmic resistance and capacitive current, more parameters can be determined from a transient CV than from the steady-state counterpart obtained with a smaller pipet or at a slower scan rate. A single transient CV under kinetic limitation gives all parameters in a Butler-Volmer-type model, i.e., the formal potential, the transfer coefficient, the standard ion-transfer rate constant, k(0), and the charge of a transferring ion as well as its diffusion coefficients in both phases. Advantages of the transient approach are demonstrated experimentally for reversible, quasi-reversible and irreversible cases. With a multistep transfer mechanism, an irreversible transient CV of facilitated protamine transfer gives an apparent k(0) value of 3.5 x 10(-5) cm/s, which is the smallest k(0) value reported so far. With the largest reliable k(0) value of approximately 1 cm/s reported in the literature, an intrinsic rate of the interfacial ion transfer varies by at least 5 orders of magnitude.  相似文献

We propose a method of single-phase PWM for an independent power supply in photovoltaic power generation systems. This new PWM is derived by comparing levels of signal waves with one of carrier waves which have bipolar swing different from unipolar swing in the conventional PWM. In this PWM, we can use a battery with lower voltage in combination with the photovoltaic power generation; fundamental level of output voltage is raised by about 11%, though poor in quality of waveforms. © 1998 Scripta Technica. In this study we propose a design for an LSI circuit that implements a cellular automaton. The cellular automaton is a parallel and distributed architecture device suitable for high‐speed image processing. To develop a cellular automaton LSI circuit, it is necessary to design small‐size unit cell circuits that can operate according to cell–cell interaction rules. We propose to use νMOSFET devices for such cell circuits. Template matching is implemented by combining multiple input νMOSFET circuits and inverters. A cell circuit was designed for image thinning and shrinking, and its operation was analyzed using a circuit simulator. Artificial market simulations have the potential to be a strong tool for studying rapid and large market fluctuations and designing financial regulations. High-frequency traders, that exchange multiple assets simultaneously within a millisecond, are said to be a cause of rapid and large market fluctuations. For such a large-scale problem, this paper proposes a software or computing platform for large-scale and high-frequency artificial market simulations (Plham: /pl\(\Lambda\)m). The computing platform, Plham, enables modeling financial markets composed of various brands of assets and a large number of agents trading on a short timescale. The design feature of Plham is the separation of artificial market models (simulation models) from their execution (execution models). This allows users to define their simulation models without parallel computing expertise and to choose one of the execution models they need. This computing platform provides a prototype execution model for parallel simulations, which exploits the variety in trading frequency among traders, that is, the fact that some traders do not require up-to-date information of markets changing in millisecond order. We evaluated a prototype implementation on the K computer using up to 256 computing nodes.  相似文献

The modification of a polyimide (PI) membrane by aromatic amine vapor was performed in this work to increase the crosslinking of the membrane and to study the effect on gas permeability and the corresponding selectivity. The single‐gas permeability of the membranes at 35 °C was probed for H2, O2, N2, CO2, and CH4. From the relationship between the combinations of gases and ideal permselectivities, this study showed that amine‐crosslinked PI membranes tended to increase gas permselectivities exponentially with the increasing difference in gas kinetic diameter. Moreover, this study illustrated that the permeability of the membranes was influenced by the formation rate of amine‐crosslinked networks or chemical structures after the reaction. The membranes had the highest level of permselectivities among crosslinked PI membranes for O2/N2, and the H2/CH4 permselectivity increased 26 times after vapor modification. Furthermore, the modification method that used aromatic amine vapor produced thin and strongly modified layers. These findings indicate that modification is an advantageous technique for improving gas‐separation performance, even considering thinning. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Appl. Polym. We theoretically studied the relationship between quantum energy states and structural parameters of an InGaAs/GaAs quantum dot (QD) buried in strained InGaAs, emitting at 1.1 to 1.4 em. The crystal distortion of the buried QD structure in three dimensions was computed based on the three-dimensional finite element method. Under the computed strain fields, the Schr?dinger equation was solved to obtain wavefunctions and eigenenergies. By calculating the dependence on structural parameters, we investigated the controllable range of the ground state energy and the energy separation between the ground state and the first excited state. We found that the energy separation exhibited a maximum value as a function of QD composition, enabling us to identify the composition of the QD structure. The effects of the burying layer composition and QD diameter were also investigated to expand the controllable range of the state energy. We also showed that the wavefunction symmetry was improved by burying the QD in the InGaAs layer. Our results will be useful in developing advanced devices for optical telecommunications and quantum information technology.  相似文献
