A novel realization of non-uniform semivectorial finite difference method for the analysis of semiconductor optical waveguides is presented. By using non-uniform mesh structure computer time is saved while the accuracy is maintained. Also, the accuracy of the results increased by balancing the coefficient matrix without increasing computation time. Calculation of all eigenvalues (real and complex) is enabled by the method. The results of the calculation are compared for uniform and non-uniform methods and for two different optical waveguides. It is indicated that accuracy of the result is mainly dependent on the mesh refinement near the material interfaces. It is also indicated that for small mesh size using non-uniform method is necessary while uniform method is useless due to huge computer time and memory needed.  相似文献

The effect of citric acid conditioning of the root surface in conjunction with gingival flap surgery including barrier membranes (expanded polytetrafluoroethylene) was clinically evaluated in 26 intrabony periodontal defects in 23 patients. Control treatment included gingival flap surgery with barrier membranes alone. Twelve defects were treated with the experimental and 14 with the control protocol. Healing was evaluated 12 months after surgery. Initial probing depths approximated 6.9 mm and defect depths measured during surgery exceeded 4 mm. The patients exhibited good oral hygiene over the study interval as substantiated by low plaque and bleeding scores. Acid conditioning of the root surface did not enhance periodontal healing in this study, similar amounts of defect resolution were observed following either treatment protocol. Probing depth reduction generally approximated 1.8 mm; gain of clinical attachment, 0.8 mm; and defect bone fill, 1.2 mm. Under the prevailing conditions, the barrier membrane procedure apparently gave a healing result beyond which further improvement could not be achieved by root surface conditioning.  相似文献

A great number of recent works deal with improving search in peer-to-peer systems, specifically by clustering peers into semantic groups. When the process of clustering is predetermined and static, it suffers from lack of adaptation to highly dynamic peer-to-peer environments. We model the problem as a non-superadditive coalition game with non-transferable utility characteristic function, and propose a distributed dynamic coalition formation algorithm through myopic best-reply with experiment rule to solve the coalition formation problem. Coalitions are formed by peers with similar interests considering geographical proximity. The overlay network is dynamically reconfigured over time based on the changes in the interests or locations of the individual peers. The convergence of the proposed algorithm using “core solution” concept is studied. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can efficiently reduce the search time, although the overhead of the overlay adaptation is slightly higher.  相似文献

In heterogeneous wireless access networks, each mobile terminal may frequently need to change its base station (BS); this change is called a ‘handoff’. BSs have static parameters, which are related to their radio access technologies (RATs); however, they also contain dynamic parameters such as load and signal quality. Therefore, the problem of handoff decision includes two subproblems of RAT selection and BS selection. In this paper, first a ‘heterogeneous handoff management system’ for gathering all different required parameters is proposed. Second, a RAT Selection algorithm based on analytic hierarchy process and a BS Selection algorithm based on data envelopment analysis are designed. Finally, by means of ‘weight restriction’ technique, we develop a method for studying the impact of RAT Selection parameters on the performance of the network. Simulation results indicate that RAT Selection parameters have significant impact on the bandwidth utilization, energy consumption and the whole satisfaction of the users in heterogeneous wireless access networks.Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献
