A new closed-atmosphere method using a gold crucible has been developed to grow single crystals of the Tl-based cuprate superconductors by a self-flux growth method. This new method can provide us mm-sized single crystals of Tl 2 Ba 2 CuO x . It should be noted that the value in the resistivity ratio R(300K)/R(T c ) (RRR) of one of the as-grown crystals is 18.3. This high RRR value indicates that the newly developed method is useful to obtain extremely high-quality single crystals of Tl 2 Ba 2 CuO x .  相似文献

A new type of all-solid-state pH sensor was investigated for the monitoring of pH in high temperature. The all-solid-state pH sensor consists of two half-cells: indicator electrode using the Li5YSi4O12 glass and an Ag/AgCl reference electrode coated with Nafion film. A stable Nafion film was achieved by heat treating at 100 °C for 1 h. The electromotive force (EMF) of the all-solid-state pH sensor decreased linearly with pH increase in water in accordance with the Nernst's equation. The all-solid-state pH sensor operated stably up to 80 °C. The sensitivity of the all-solid-state pH sensor against pH was high, and the EMF was also scarcely influenced by the presence of inorganic ions such as Li+, Na+ and Cl. It was practically confirmed by the pH titration test that the all-solid-state pH sensor behaved similar to the commercial pH meter with the conventional glass electrode. In addition, the all-solid-state pH sensor showed same equivalence point both at high temperature and low temperature operations.  相似文献

The strength, bulk density, and acoustic properties of nine Y2O3-stabilized ZrO2 polycrystals (Y-TZPs) were evaluated in the present study. The samples showed a strong correlation between strength and acoustic properties, a phenomenon that reflects the internal bulk structure, especially the Pore size distribution. Strength increased with a decrease in the attenuation coefficient and with an increase in the transverse wave velocity of the samples. On the other hand, the bulk density of the samples showed no clear relationship with strength. Bulk density reflects only the amount of pore volume in the test piece, whereas the acoustic properties are sensitive to defects or inhomogeneities in the microstructure. The attenuation coefficient and transverse wave velocity thus seem to be good parameters for estimating the strength of Y-TZPs.  相似文献

Bicyclist and pedestrian injuries in collisions with vehicles in Japan were investigated based on national and in-depth accident data analyses and mathematical simulations. In an impact with a bonnet-type vehicle, a bicyclist slides over the bonnet of the vehicle, behavior that is not observed for pedestrians. As a result, the bicyclist’s head tends to strike a bonnet-type vehicle at a more rearward location in comparison with pedestrians. The first contact position of a bicycle with a vehicle, the vehicle front-end geometry and the bicycle velocity affect whether the bicyclist’s head strikes the vehicle or not. Due to the bent-knee posture of a bicyclist’s legs, the types of leg injuries sustained by bicyclists and their causes differ from those seen for pedestrians. Component test procedures have been proposed for evaluating pedestrian safety, but some modifications of the head impact area and angle are necessary when applying these methods to bicyclists.  相似文献

The inversion method for simultaneous gas (O3, NO2, HNO3, N2O, CH4, H2O, CFC-11, CFC-12, N2O5, and ClONO2) and aerosol retrievals from broadband continuous IR spectra of occultation measurements is described. Both gas and aerosol physical modeling with consideration of the multicomponent character of aerosol and polar stratospheric clouds (PSCs) are used to minimize the difference between measured and modeled transmittance spectra under smoothness constraints imposed on particle-size distributions for each PSC component and positive constraints on all gas and aerosol parameters. The method is tested by numerical simulations in which synthetic occultation measurements inherent to the improved limb atmospheric spectrometer are used. The study reveals that the method has significant advantages over other approaches based on offset or gas-window-channel aerosol correction for accurate gas retrievals and provides additional information on the particle-size composition, volume density, and chemical component character of PSCs.  相似文献

A chemiluminescence-based high-performance liquid chromatographic method was developed for the analysis of the addition products of α-tocopherol with phosphatidylcholine-peroxyl radicals (TOO-PC). The TOO-PC eluted from a reversed-phase column was reacted with a chemiluminescent reagent consisting of a Cypridina luciferin analog and a lipid-soluble iron chelate in acidic methanol at 50°C, and the generated chemiluminescence was monitored. The detection limit for TOO-PC by this method was about 1 pmol. This method was applied to the detection of TOO-PC in the peroxidized membranes prepared from rabbit erythrocyte ghosts. When the erythrocyte ghosts were peroxidized by the addition of a water-soluble free radical initiator, a peak corresponding to TOO-PC was detected on the chromatogram with chemiluminescent detection. The amount of TOO-PC in the erythrocyte membranes increased with the depletion of endogenous α-tocopherol. The results indicate that this method proved useful for the detection of the TOO-PC formed by the peroxyl-radical scavenging reactions of α-tocopherol in biological systems.  相似文献

Six vitrinite-concentrated coal samples were treated with NaOH-alcohol at 300 or 350 °C for 1 h. The products were nearly all soluble in pyridine except those from the oldest coal (52.4% of extraction yield). Structural indices of these pyridine extracts were calculated from ultimate analytical values, molecular weight and 1H-n.m.r. data. The younger coals have tetralin-type nuclei and bituminous coal has 5–6 rings, about 2 of naphthene type. The younger coals were estimated to have more frequent ether linkages.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: An inhalation of ultrasonically nebulized distilled water (UNDW) induces bronchoconstriction only in asthmatics, but the mechanism underlying the response is not fully understood. We recently showed that bronchoconstriction occurs immediately after UNDW is inhaled 20min after an aerosolized antigen challenge in passively sensitized guinea-pigs. OBJECTIVE: This study was conducted to examine the role of tachykinins in this response. METHODS: Passively sensitized animals were anaesthetized and artificially ventilated, and changes in pressure at the airway opening (Pao) were measured as an overall index of airway narrowing. A tachykinin NK1 and NK2 dual receptor antagonist, FK224, and a tachykinin NK1 selective antagonist, FK888, were intravenously administered 15 min after the antigen challenge. The effects of capsaicin desensitization and a neutral endopeptidase inhibitor, phosphoramidon, were also examined. RESULTS: FK224 and FK888 significantly (P < 0.05 and P < 0.05, respectively) reduced the time course curve of the increase in Pao caused by UNDW inhalation in a dose-dependent manner. The percentage increase in Pao from the preantigen challenge value at 1 min after the UNDW inhalation was 267.4+/-17.1, 358.0+/-33.7 and 412.4+/-27.6% with 10 mg/kg of FK224, 1.0 mg/kg of FK224 and vehicle, respectively, (P<0.01 between 10 mg/kg of FK224 and vehicle) and the value was 254.4+/-48.5% with 10 mg/kg of FK888, 327.1+/-57.6% with 1.0 mg/kg of FK888 and 418.5+/-39.0% with vehicle, respectively (P < 0.05 between 10 mg/kg of FK888 and vehicle). The capsaicin desensitization, but not phosphoramidon, significantly reduced the UNDW-induced increase in Pao. CONCLUSION: These results suggest that tachykinins, at least substance P, are involved in a part of the UNDW-induced bronchoconstriction in our guinea-pig model.  相似文献

Dihydropyrimidinase (DHP) deficiency (MIM 222748) is characterized by dihydropyrimidinuria and is associated with a variable clinical phenotype. This disease might be associated with a risk of 5-fluorouracil toxicity, although no cases have been reported. We present here both the molecular characterization of the human DHP gene and, for the first time, the mutations causing DHP deficiency. The human DHP gene spans >80 kb and consists of 10 exons. It has been assigned to 8q22, by FISH. We performed mutation analysis of genomic DNA in one symptomatic and five asymptomatic individuals presenting with dihydropyrimidinuria. We identified one frameshift mutation and five missense mutations. Two related Japanese adult subjects were homozygous for the Q334R substitution, whereas two other, unrelated Japanese infant subjects were heterozygous for the same mutation, but this mutation is not common in the Japanese population. A Caucasian pediatric patient exhibiting epileptic attacks, dysmorphic features, and severe developmental delay was homozygous for W360R. Using a eukaryotic expression system, we showed that all mutations reduced enzyme activity significantly, indicating that these are crucial DHP deficiency-causing mutations. There was no significant difference, in residual activity, between mutations observed in the symptomatic and those observed in the asymptomatic individuals.  相似文献
