In process analytical applications it is not always possible to keep the measurement conditions constant. However, fluctuations in external variables such as temperature can have a strong influence on measurement results. For example, nonlinear temperature effects on near-infrared (NIR) spectra may lead to a strongly biased prediction result from multivariate calibration models such as PLS. A new method, called Continuous Piecewise Direct Standardization (CPDS) has been developed for the correction of such external influences. It represents a generalization of the discrete PDS calibration transfer method and is able to adjust for continuous nonlinear influences such as the temperature effects on spectra. It was applied to shortwave NIR spectra of ethanol/water/2-propanol mixtures measured at different temperatures in the range 30-70 degrees C. The method was able to remove, almost completely, the temperature effects on the spectra, and prediction of the mole fractions of the chemical components was close to the results obtained at constant temperature.  相似文献

A rather general class of neural networks, called generalized cellular neural networks (CNNs), is introduced. the new model covers most of the known neural network architectures, including cellular neural networks, Hopfield networks and multilayer perceptrons. Several sets of conditions ensuring the input-output stability and global asymptotic stability of generalized CNNs have been obtained. the conditions for the stability of individual cells are checked in the frequency domain, while the stability of the overall network is analysed in terms of the stability of individual cells and the connectivity characteristics. the results on the global asymptotic stability are useful for the design of a generalized CNN such that the orbit of each state converges to a globally asymptotically stable equilibrium point which depends only on the input and not on the initial state. Such a network defines an algebraic map from the space of external inputs to the space of steady state values of the outputs and hence can accomplish cognitive and computational tasks.  相似文献

The survival capacity of Helicobacter pylori in artificially contaminated milk and tap water was investigated in the study. Helicobacter pylori could survive for up to 10 days in milk at 4 degrees C storage but only 4 days in tap water with a steady decrease of colony forming units. However, electron microscopy clearly showed that the non-culturable coccoid form was present in tap water which had been kept at 4 degrees C for 7 days. It is concluded that H. pylori may survive in tap water as well as in milk, with the implication that they may, thereby, act as a vehicle of transmission.  相似文献

In the last few years, semiconductor random-access memory (RAM) components have been introduced into high-speed scratchpad applications and small buffer memory systems, where the performance or cost advantage of semiconductor components is greatest. More recently, developments in the technology of large-scale integrated (LSI) circuits have resulted in cost-performance characteristics of semiconductor RAMs that are competitive in computer main-frame memories as well. This article reviews the basic circuit concepts used in these components, representative products that are presently available, and some systems considerations involved in their use.  相似文献

To increase the power and the robustness of spectroscopic process analyzers, methods are needed that suppress the spectral variation that is not related to the property of interest in the process stream. An approach for the selection of a suitable method is presented. The approach uses the net analyte signal (NAS) to analyze the situation and to select methods to suppress the nonrelevant spectral variation. The empirically determined signal-to-noise of the NAS is used as a figure of merit. The advantages of the approach are (i). that the error of the reference method does not affect method selection and (ii). that only a few spectral measurements are needed. A diagnostic plot is proposed that guides the user in the evaluation of the particular suppression method. As an example, NIR spectroscopic monitoring of a mol-sieve separation process is used.  相似文献

Two-terminal devices which exhibit a type-S (current-controlled) or type-N (voltage-controlled) negative differential resistance can be built using only two bipolar transistors and linear positive resistors without any internal biasing power supply. Two general algorithms are presented in this paper for systematically generating all such devices. Hundreds of negative resistance devices have been derived to date using these algorithms and a selection of these circuits is presented in this paper along with their computer-simulated v-i curves. Laboratory measurements of a few sample circuits agree remarkably well with the computer-simulated results.  相似文献

This paper presents a comparison of manufacturing techniques used in the development of an axial blood pump impeller. In this development process the impeller was designed and its performance was evaluated with the aid of computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Prototypes of those designs where the CFD results show promise were needed in sufficient quantities at a low cost for experimental validation of the CFD results. As the impeller is less than 16 mm in diameter with a maximum blade thickness of about 1.5 mm, innovative manufacturing techniques are explored in this paper to determine the best process for quick fabrication of prototypes that are dimensionally accurate, structurally robust and low in cost. Four rapid prototyping techniques were explored. The completed parts were compared on the basis of manufacturing time, quality and strength of parts obtained, manufacturing cost and also in vitro performances. Based on these studies, it was concluded that selective laser sintering (SLS) is the most appropriate method for the quick production of prototype parts for evaluation of pump performance.  相似文献

The effect of pore flow on the separation efficiency of capillary electrochromatography (CEC) has been studied using columns packed with particles with different pore sizes. A previously developed model was used to predict the (relative) pore flow velocity in these columns under various experimental conditions. Equations are derived describing the effect of pore flow on peak broadening in CEC. The theory has been compared with practice in the reversed-phase CEC separation of various polyaromatic hydrocarbons. It is shown, by theory and experimentally, that the mass-transfer resistance contribution to peak dispersion can be effectively eliminated when using porous particles with a high (> or =50 nm) average pore diameter. Moreover, at high pore-to-interstitial flow ratios the flow inhomogeneity contribution (the A term in the plate height equation) is also shown to decrease. Under optimal conditions, a reduced plate height of 0.3 for the nonretained compound could be obtained. It is argued that fully perfusive porous particles can be a more efficient separation medium in CEC than nonporous particles.  相似文献

We propose a packet-level model to investigate the impact of channel error on the transmission control protocol (TCP) performance over IEEE-802.11-based multihop wireless networks. A Markov renewal approach is used to analyze the behavior of TCP Reno and TCP Impatient NewReno. Compared to previous work, our main contributions are listed as follows: 1) modeling multiple lossy links, 2) investigating the interactions among TCP, Internet Protocol (IP), and media access control (MAC) protocol layers, specifically the impact of 802.11 MAC protocol and dynamic source routing (DSR) protocol on TCP throughput performance, 3) considering the spatial reuse property of the wireless channel, the model takes into account the different proportions between the interference range and transmission range, and 4) adopting more accurate and realistic analysis to the fast recovery process and showing the dependency of throughput and the risk of experiencing successive fast retransmits and timeouts on the packet error probability. The analytical results are validated against simulation results by using GloMoSim. The results show that the impact of the channel error is reduced significantly due to the packet retransmissions on a per-hop basis and a small bandwidth delay product of ad hoc networks. The TCP throughput always deteriorates less than ~ 10 percent, with a packet error rate ranging from 0 to 0.1. Our model also provides a theoretical basis for designing an optimum long retry limit for IEEE 802.11 in ad hoc networks.  相似文献

A new pixel design and driving method for active-matrix organic light-emitting diode (AMOLED) display using low-temperature polycrystalline silicon thin-film transistor (LTPS-TFT) is proposed. The new circuit consists of five TFTs and one capacitor to eliminate the variation in the threshold voltage of the TFTs, and the drop in the supply voltage in a single frame operation. The proposed pixel circuit has been verified to realize uniform output current by the simulation work using HSPICE software. The simulated error rate of the output current is also discussed in this paper. The novel pixel design has great potential for use in large size and high resolution AMOLED displays.  相似文献
