Simple cause – extensive damage. Continuation of a complex project in connection with an accident. In September 2008 at the Müritz‐Elde‐channel the new weir Lewitz could be started‐up. The originally planned construction period amounted to 15 months; however, about three years were actually needed. During the production of a temporary bypass in March 2006 an accident occurred. The consequences of the damage had to be eliminated first, before the planned project could be continued. Subsequently, the construction sequences and procedures had to be adapted to the changed boundary conditions. The accident, the removal of the damages and the effects to the building contract are represented in the following.  相似文献

A glass wall assembly was exposed to an intense real-scale compartment fire. The wall assembly consisted of four glass sections, two of which were fitted with tempered double-pane glass and the other two sections were fitted with tempered single-pane glass. At each glass section, temperatures were measured at the exposed face and the unexposed face. Total heat flux gauges were used to measure both the temporal variation of the energy incident on the glass wall and the transmitted energy rate detected through two of the glass sections. Visual and infrared cameras were used to image the unexposed face of each wall assembly during the fire exposure. Results of glass breakage and subsequent glass fall out were compared to studies in the literature for glass sections exposed to compartment fires. The behavior of the glass wall assembly under a fire load is presented.

Bioavailability of heavy metals present in industrial sludges and their subsequent phytotoxicity are crucial parameters to assess the associated health hazards and suitability for land application. The present study is an effort to determine the extractability of heavy metals present in different phases of the sludges, coming out of two different operations involved in petrochemical industry viz. spent caustic treatment (SCT) and waste water treatment (WWT) following the BCR sequential extraction procedure. The maximum amount of Cd and Cu was found associated with oxidizable phase, whereas Cr and Ni were best recovered in residual fractions of both the sludges. Maximum Pb was recovered in oxidizable and residual phase in the WWT and SCT sludges, respectively. The stabilization treatment undergone by sludges strongly influenced the heavy metal distribution and the phases to which they were associated. The total metal concentration in both the sludges did not exceed the limit set out by the European Legislation and was found as Cd = 0.449, Pb = 3.340, Ni = 6.530, Cr = 21.087, & Cu = 27.129 μg g?1 and Cd = 0.549, Pb = 5.664, Ni = 7.161, Cr = 27.096, & Cu = 35.479 μg g?1 in the SCT and WWT sludges, respectively. Phytotoxicity of the sludges was assessed against the germination index and the relative root and shoot growth. Sludge leachates did not adversely affect the seed germination and the early seedling growth of Mung (Phaseolus mungo) and Gram (Cicer arietinum), indicating that these metals were concentrated in the non-bioavailable fractions of sludges.  相似文献

In the present study we developed the novel kind of triazine dendrimers by utilizing differential reactivity of the cyanuric chloride (triazine trichloride) which overcome the limitations associated with the others classes of dendrimers like toxicity, low yield, high synthesis cost etc. Triazine dendrimers were synthesized by divergent method using triazine trichloride as core and diethanolamine as branching unit to avoid the use of protecting group and functional group interconversion up to third generation. These hydroxyl terminated dendrimers were characterized by FTIR, 1HNMR, 13CNMR, ES mass spectroscopy, and by elemental analysis. The yield of pure G3 dendrimers was 63%. This novel dendrimers increases the aqueous solubility of hydrophobic drug Paclitaxel up to 0.562 mg/ml as well as showed control release behavior. Hemolytic and toxicology studies of this dendrimer in mice showed no adverse toxicity to the kidneys and the liver up to 200 mg/kg dose (i.p). Triazine being a hydrophobic compound, the core of this dendrimer is hydrophobic and supposed to easily incorporate the hydrophobic guest while presence of hydroxyl group on periphery increases its water solubility and reduces its toxicity; and thus it is useful in various fields like gene delivery, MRI contrasting agents, vaccines or as solubilization tool.  相似文献

The ionic and protein environment of buffalo skim milk was modified by instant pH drop and its restoration for the development of highly soluble milk protein concentrate-60 (BuMRate–60@), which resulted in depletion of 88.64% calcium, 89.18% magnesium, 91.69% potassium and 93.96% phosphorous. BuMRate–60@ displayed excellent wetting, rehydration and solubility (97.76%). The Fourier transform infrared spectrometer spectra revealed significant stretching (C-H and O-H), N-H bending and a large extent of H-bonding. Scanning electron microscopy micrographs presented particles with porous nature and dimples, while transmission electron microscopy confirmed a greater release of minerals with altered casein micelles.  相似文献
