First results of ion and electron temperature profile measurements from the x-ray imaging crystal spectrometer (XICS) diagnostic on the Large Helical Device (LHD) are presented. This diagnostic system has been operational since the beginning of the 2011 LHD experimental campaign and is the first application of the XICS diagnostic technique to helical plasma geometry. The XICS diagnostic provides measurements of ion and electron temperature profiles in LHD with a spatial resolution of 2 cm and a maximum time resolution of 5 ms (typically 20 ms). Ion temperature profiles from the XICS diagnostic are possible under conditions where charge exchange recombination spectroscopy (CXRS) is not possible (high density) or is perturbative to the plasma (low density or radio frequency heated plasmas). Measurements are made by using a spherically bent crystal to provide a spectrally resolved 1D image of the plasma from line integrated emission of helium-like Ar(16 +). The final hardware design and configuration are detailed along with the calibration procedures. Line-integrated ion and electron temperature measurements are presented, and the measurement accuracy is discussed. Finally central temperature measurements from the XICS system are compared to measurements from the Thomson scattering and CXRS systems, showing excellent agreement.  相似文献

The problem of handling the fragile carbon foils (mounting on the frame, placing in the stripper changer) that easily break when self-supporting has been solved by coating carbon foils with poly-monochloro-para-xylylene. It was found that the polymer-coating method could also be used to produce carbon foils thicker than 100 μg/cm2 by alternated deposition of carbon and poly-monochloro-para-xylylene layers. Carbon foil of 500 μg/cm2 thick and 10 cm in diameter was produced by this method and mounted to a foil holder. Results of lifetime measurement for singly coated foils are also presented.  相似文献

Abstract— When estimating fatigue damage quantitatively it is important to clarify its physical basis. In this study, rotating bending fatigue tests of a heat-treated 0.45% carbon steel were carried out in 3% NaCl solution, in order to clarify the physical basis of corrosion fatigue damage from successive observations of plastic replicas. The results show that corrosion pits are generated during the early stages of cycling, then most of them grow with further cycling until a crack is initiated from each corrosion pit. The initiation of corrosion pits from slip bands is observed only in the case when the stress range is relatively large, and in the range of stress for which slip bands are produced in air. After initiation of a crack, the crack propagates by frequent interactions and coalescence with other cracks. The growth rate of an especially small crack in NaCl solution is larger than that in air. However, the growth rate of a comparatively large crack is smaller in NaCl solution than in air.  相似文献

We present an all-fiber system for generating pedestal-free 22-fs ultrashort pulses with a single-peak spectrum. High-power Raman soliton pulses and a normally dispersive highly nonlinear fiber are used to generate a smooth, broadened single-peak spectrum. Then, the higher order dispersion is compensated for using a hybrid fiber composed of a reverse-dispersion fiber and a standard single-mode fiber, which allows pedestal-free ultrashort pulses to be successfully generated. To our knowledge, this is the first demonstration of pedestal-free 20-fs-class ultrashort pulse generation without spectral distortion using an all-fiber configuration.  相似文献

Operation and fabrication of a new high channel mobility strained-Si PMOSFET are presented. The growth of high-quality strained Si layer on completely relaxed, step-graded, SiGe buffer layer is demonstrated by gas source MBE. The strained-Si layer is characterized by double crystal X-ray diffraction, photoluminescence, and transmission electron microscopy. The operation of a PMOSFET is shown by device simulation and experiment. The high-mobility strained-Si PMOSFET is fabricated on strained-Si, which is grown epitaxially on a completely relaxed step-graded Si0.82Ge0.18 buffer layer on Si(100) substrate. At high vertical fields (high |Vg|), the channel mobility of the strained-Si device is found to be 40% and 200% higher at 300 K and 77 K, respectively, compared to those of the bulk Si device. In the case of the strained-Si device, degradation of channel mobility due to Si/SiO2 interface scattering is found to be more pronounced compared to that of the bulk Si device. Carrier confinement at the type-II strained-Si/SiGe-buffer interface is clearly demonstrated from device transconductance and C-V measurements at 300 K and 77 K  相似文献

Concerning global warming and resource depletion, the impact of buildings in subtropical regions is becoming even greater due to a high growth rate of urbanized areas. From the viewpoint of building physics, the main problem concerning subtropical climate is the high level of humidity in combination with high temperature. In this study, a flexible building envelope consisting of wood and clay components was developed so that the materials and the assemblies can be easily tailored to comply with local climatic conditions. The movement and accumulation of moisture in the wall was of prime concern. This has been investigated by means of testing full scale walls in a climate chamber and the corresponding one dimensional transient heat and transfer simulation. In order to achieve a consistency between calculation and measurement, the individual materials were tested for their hygric and thermal properties. Based on these findings attempts were made to calculate the behavior of an optimized wall assembly under real climatic conditions of central Japan. As a result, it was shown that the hygrothermal behavior of the envelope is predictable by means of the models and the simulation program used, and that no risk of interstitial condensation and mold growth was predicted under the real climatic conditions of Kyoto.  相似文献

Habit planes at WC/Co interfaces were investigated from a viewpoint of carbon content in WC–12mass%Co cemented carbides by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). WC/Co interfaces typically consist of (0001) and { 10[`1]0} { 10bar{1}0} habit planes with blunt corners, which are very close to { 10[`1]1} { 10bar{1}1} habit plane. The sizes of the blunt corners increase as the carbon content decrease. The expansions of blunt corners are due to the change in interface energy caused by the variation of the carbon content. The change in interface energy is discussed in terms of the incoherency between the (0001) planes of the WC grains and the Co-phase.  相似文献
