The steady flow of a non-Newtonian fluid when slippage between the plate and the fluid occurs is considered. The constitutive equations of the fluid are modeled for a fourth-grade non-Newtonian fluid with partial slip; they give rise to nonlinear boundary value problems. Analytical solutions are obtained using powerful analytic techniques for solving nonlinear problems, homotopy perturbation and optimal homotopy asymptotic methods. The results obtained are compared with the numerical results and it is shown that solutions exist for all values of the non-Newtonian parameters. The solutions valid for the no-slip condition for all values of the non-Newtonian parameters can be derived as special cases of the present analysis. Finally the solutions are discussed using a graphical approach.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce Systematic P2P Aided Cache Enhancement or SPACE, a new collaboration scheme among clients in a computer cluster of a high performance computing facility to share their caches with each other. The collaboration is achieved in a distributed manner, and is designed based on peer-to-peer computing model. The objective is to provide (1) a decentralized solution, and (2) a near optimal performance with reasonably low overhead. Simulation results are given to demonstrate the performance of the proposed scheme. In addition, the results show that SPACE evenly distributes work loads among participators, and entirely eliminates any requirement of a central cache manager.  相似文献

The advancement of digital photography and the popularity of photo sharing social media such as Instagram and Facebook have undoubtedly stimulated growing interest in aesthetics quality improvement. One aspect of photography that contributes to high quality photos is image composition; the spatial arrangement of photo subjects in the image frame. Professional photographers often apply a wealth of photographic composition rules, e.g., rule of thirds, visual balance and simplicity to capture compelling photos. In the recent years, aesthetics-driven recomposition that attempts to computationally modify the composition of an image to mimic a professional photo has started to receive considerable research interest. Researchers have proposed numerous recomposition techniques that utilize a single or a combination of multiple image operators, i.e., cropping, warping and patch rearrangement operators, to modify the composition of an image. In this paper, we present a survey on the state-of-the-arts aesthetic-driven image recomposition. We define the image recomposition problem, outline its objectives, and provide a comprehensive review of the existing image recompositoin techniques, together with a detailed analysis of the effectiveness of each technique in achieving the recomposition objectives. This survey is intended as a good reference for researchers interested in image recomposition.  相似文献

Recently, Yang and Chang proposed an identity-based remote login scheme using elliptic curve cryptography for the users of mobile devices. We have analyzed the security aspects of the Yang and Chang's scheme and identified some security flaws. Also two improvements of the Yang and Chang's scheme have been proposed recently, however, it has been found that the schemes have similar security flaws as in the Yang and Chang's scheme. In order to remove the security pitfalls of the Yang and Chang and the subsequent schemes, we proposed an enhanced remote user mutual authentication scheme that uses elliptic curve cryptography and identity-based cryptosystem with three-way challenge-response handshake technique. It supports flawless mutual authentication of participants, agreement of session key and the leaked key revocation capability. In addition, the proposed scheme possesses low power consumption, low computation cost and better security attributes. As a result, the proposed scheme seems to be more practical and suitable for mobile users for secure Internet banking, online shopping, online voting, etc.  相似文献

We extend these proofs to higher levels of the hierarchy and illuminate the distinctions among its classes. The d.c. and a.c. electrical properties were studied for various compositions of SiO/GeO2 co-evaporated thin films carrying aluminium electrodes, in the temperature range 193–413 K. A.c. measurements were made over the frequency range 2x102–106Hz. The value of the d.c. activation energy was found to decrease with increasing GeO2 content in the SiO. In the region of high applied field (above 106 Vm–1, the conduction mechanism is governed by Schottky emission at the blocking contact. The a.c. electrical conductivity, (), varies with frequency according to the relation () s, where the exponent s was found to be dependent on temperature and frequency. The a.c. conduction at low temperature was due to an electronic hopping process. The number of localized sites was estimated from the a.c. measurements for different compositions of SiO/GeO2 using the models proposed by Elliott and by Pollak, and the values are compared. The Elliott model satisfactorily accounts for the observed a.c. electrical results. A correlation was found between activation energy, optical band gap, conductivity and number of localized sites for the various compositions of SiO/GeO2 films. The relative dielectric constant, r, and loss factor, tan , were found to increase with the increase of GeO2 content in the films.  相似文献

We present a pulsed-magnet system that enables x-ray single-crystal diffraction in addition to powder and spectroscopic studies with the magnetic field applied on or close to the scattering plane. The apparatus consists of a single large-bore solenoid, cooled by liquid nitrogen. A second independent closed-cycle cryostat is used for cooling samples near liquid helium temperatures. Pulsed magnetic fields close to ~30 T with a zero-to-peak-field rise time of ~2.9 ms are generated by discharging a 40 kJ capacitor bank into the magnet coil. The unique characteristic of this instrument is the preservation of maximum scattering angle (~23.6°) on the entrance and exit sides of the magnet bore by virtue of a novel double-funnel insert. This instrument will facilitate x-ray diffraction and spectroscopic studies that are impractical, if not impossible, to perform using split-pair and narrow-opening solenoid magnets. Furthermore, it offers a practical solution for preserving optical access in future higher-field pulsed magnets.  相似文献
