The ultimate tensile strain of anodic films formed on 2024-T4 aluminum was evaluated as a function of pH in environments of 10−3M and 1·0M KNO3, using resistive and capactive techniques. In the resistive technique, ultimate tensile strain was defined as the strain at which a discontinuous increase in anodic current was observed; in the capacitive technique, film failure was marked by a discontinuity in the slope of the capacitance versus strain curve. The ultimate tensile strain was seen to be significantly greater at the zero-point-of charge of the oxide (pH 8) than at higher or lower pH; in the capacitive measurements the ultimate tensile strain had an average value of 0·97 at pH 8 and 0·87 for measurements made at pH values of 4, 7 and 9. Dielectric behavior of the anodic films was seen to be different only in degree from that of films formed on pure aluminum. Changes in capacitance associated only with exposure were measured and taken into account. Capacitance behavior with strain was modeled by two linear regions; the first was attributed to elastic deformation of the film and the second, after failure, to the growth of regions of metal covered only with a thin, spontaneously-formed oxide.  相似文献

The electroencephalogram (EEG) is a representative signal containing information about the condition of the brain. The shape of the wave may contain useful information about the state of the brain. However, the human observer cannot directly monitor these subtle details. Besides, since bio-signals are highly subjective, the symptoms may appear at random in the time scale. Therefore, the EEG signal parameters, extracted and analyzed using computers, are highly useful in diagnostics. The aim of this work is to compare the different entropy estimators when applied to EEG data from normal and epileptic subjects. The results obtained indicate that entropy estimators can distinguish normal and epileptic EEG data with more than 95% confidence (using t-test). The classification ability of the entropy measures is tested using ANFIS classifier. The results are promising and a classification accuracy of about 90% is achieved.  相似文献

The effects of reactive ion etching (RIE) of SiO2 layer in CHF3 / C2F6 on the underlying Si surface have been studied by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), secondary ion mass spectrometer, Rutherford backscattering spectroscopy, and high resolution transmission electron microscopy. We found that two distinguishable modified layers are formed by RIE : (i) a uniform residue surface layer of 4 nm thickness composed entirely of carbon, fluorine, oxygen, and hydrogen with 9 different kinds of chemical bonds and (ii) a contaminated silicon layer of about 50 nm thickness with carbon and fluorine atoms without any observable crystalline defects. To search the removal condition of the silicon surface residue, we monitored the changes of surface compositions for the etched silicon after various post treatments as rapid thermal anneal, O2, NF3, SF6, and Cl2 plasma treatments. XPS analysis revealed that NF3 treatment is most effective. With 10 seconds exposure to NF3 plasma, the fluorocarbon residue film decomposes. The remained fluorine completely disappears after the following wet cleaning.  相似文献

Lipase-catalyzed transesterification of triolein with cinnamic and ferulic acids using an immobilized lipase from Candida antarctica (E.C. 3.1.1.3) was conducted to evaluate the antioxidant activity of the lipophilized products as model systems for enhanced protection of unsaturated oil. The lipophilized products were identified using ESI-MS. Free radical scavenging activity was determined using the DPPH radical method. The polarity of the solvents proved important in determining the radical scavenging activity of the substrates. Ferulic acid showed much higher radical scavenging activity than cinnamic acid, which has limited activity. The esterification of cinnamic acid and ferulic acid with triolein resulted in significant increase and decrease in the radical scavenging activity, respectively. These opposite effects were due to the effect of addition of electron-donating alkyl groups on the predominant mechanism of reaction (hydrogen atom transfer or electron transfer) of a species with DPPH. The effect of esterification of cinnamic acid was confirmed using ethyl cinnamate which greatly enhances the radical scavenging activity. Although, compared to the lipophilized cinnamic acid product, the activity was lower. The radical scavenging activity of the main component isolated from lipophilized cinnamic acid product using solid phase extraction, monocinnamoyl dioleoyl glycerol, was as good as the unseparated mixture of lipophilized product. Based on the ratio of a substrate to DPPH concentration, lipophilized ferulic acid was a much more efficient radical scavenger than lipophilized cinnamic acid.  相似文献

In the quest on improving composite formulations for environmental sustainability, maleic acid (MA) cross-linked poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA)-α-chitin composites reinforced by oil palm empty fruit bunch fibers (OPEFB)-derived nanocellulose crystals (NCC) had been successfully prepared. Based on the Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopic analysis, it was proven that molecular interactions of the cross-linker to the polymeric networks was through conjugated ester linkage. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) showed that the influence of MA was minimal toward crystallization in the PVA/chitin/NCC composite. Maximum tensile strength, elongation at break and Young's modulus of the respective PVA/chitin/NCC composites were achieved at different content of MA, dependent on the PVA/chitin mass ratio. Among all compositions, a maximum Young's modulus was achieved at 30 wt% MA loading in PVA/chitin-30/NCC, amounting to 2,413.81 ± 167.36 MPa. Moreover, the mechanical properties and selected physicochemical properties (swelling, gel content, and contact angle) of the PVA/chitin/NCC composites could be tailored by varying the chitin content (10–30 wt%) and MA content (10–50 wt% based on total mass of composite). In brief, this chemically cross-linked PVA-based biocomposites formulated with sustainable resources exhibited tunable physicochemical and mechanical properties.  相似文献

The rainbow hologram provides views of reconstruction with rainbow color within a large viewing zone. In our recent paper, a Fourier rainbow holographic display using diffraction grating and a white‐light LED source was introduced. In this technique, the rainbow effect is realized by the dispersion of white‐light source on diffraction grating, while the slit is implemented numerically by reducing the demands of the space‐bandwidth product of the display. This paper presents a novel analysis on the visual perception of the Fourier rainbow holographic display using Wigner distribution. The view‐dependent appearance of the image, including multispectral field of view and viewing zone, is investigated considering the observer and the display parameters. The resolution of the holographic view is also investigated. For this, a new quantitative assessment for image blur is introduced using Wigner distribution analysis. The analysis is supported with numerical simulations and experimentally captured optical reconstructions for the holograms of the computer model and real object generated with different slit size, reconstruction distance, and different observation conditions.  相似文献
