Mice with a null mutation in the terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase (TdT) gene harbor immunoglobulin and T cell receptor repertoires essentially devoid of N-region diversity. Consequently, the CDR3 loops important for antigen recognition are shorter and considerably less diverse than those of wild-type controls. We find surprisingly normal immune responses in TdT0 mice, as regards both efficiency and specificity. This provokes a reconsideration of the assumption that N-region diversity is required for an effective T and B cell repertoire. 相似文献

We report the first demonstration of proton-exchanged optical planar waveguides in x-cut and z-cut LiNbO3 doped with 6 mol% ZnO using adipic acid as proton source. These waveguides exhibit a graded index profile which can be modeled by a linear step function with a surface index increase of 0.135 and 0.14 for x-cut and z-cut waveguides, respectively. The diffusion constant Do and the activation energy Q are characterized optically to be 1.64×109 μm2/h and 88.8 KJ/mol for x-cut waveguides, and 1.478×109 μm2/h and 91.25 KJ/mol for z-cut waveguides, respectively. The diffusion rate along the z-axis is slower than that along the x-axis, whereas the surface index increase on z-cut waveguides is larger than that on x-cut waveguides. 相似文献

The powder mixtures used for diffusion galvanizing (Zn + inert filler + activator) have the following deficiencies: susceptibility to sintering and fusing under elevated CTT temperatures, complexity of correcting the set of components in repeated use of the mixtures and the related instability of the results obtained, complexity of regeneration of worked-out mixtures, elevated ecological hazard of their use, etc. This explains the need for the present work, which shows that most of the mentioned deficiencies can be eliminated by an appropriate choice of the mixture components and (or) preliminary treatment of them. 相似文献

The bang-bang controlled capacitor coupled converter (C3) is described in this paper. Due to the converter's inherent commutating property, the C3 can accommodate thyristors as well as high-power gate turn-off switches, due to zero-current switching transitions. The zero-current switching is achieved at no current stress increase, therefore, the topology is considered appropriate for high-power processing. DC and small signal AC models are derived for the bang-bang controlled C3, a design procedure is proposed, and simulation results are discussed. STUDY OBJECTIVE: To determine the potential feasibility of external cardiac pacing for the termination of sustained supraventricular tachycardia in the emergency department setting. TYPE OF PARTICIPANTS: Three men and two women (mean age, 34 years) who presented to the ED with a narrow-complex, hemodynamically stable tachycardia that was later proven to be supraventricular in origin. INTERVENTION: Each patient underwent external overdrive pacing using a modified external pacemaker at a pulse amplitude of 120 mA and a rate between 240 and 280 pulses per minute. RESULTS: In four patients, external cardiac pacing was able to successfully terminate the tachycardia without complication. In one patient, the pacemaker was not able to terminate the tachycardia. CONCLUSION: We conclude that external, noninvasive pacing is a feasible means of terminating supraventricular tachycardia in the ED setting. 相似文献

This article describes a technique for preparing final working casts to be used in the laboratory phase of restorative treatment. The goal is to produce accurate working casts that have stable dies which are easily removed from the base and reliably replaced. Most casts with removable dies are made from a single master impression. However, individual dies are sometimes made previously from individual tooth (preparation) impressions. In such cases, transfer copings are required to relate the dies and produce the final working cast. Hollow plastic casting sprues are used as temporary dowels in this technique until a transfer coping pickup impression has been made. After the dies are seated and secured in the transfer coping pickup impression, the plastic casting sprues are replaced with conventional brass dowel pins. This technique ensures well-placed dowel pins that will facilitate easy and accurate withdrawal and replacement of the dies. 相似文献
