The purpose of the current study was to evaluate the usefulness of a radiofrequency (RF) personal exposimeter (dosimeter) for assessing individual RF exposure in an urban environment. Measurements taken by RF personal dosimeter were also compared to preliminary site measurements taken around mobile base stations. The results from personal exposure showed that one third of the participants spent 40–70% of 24 h recording time above the detection limits (0.05 V/m), and half of subjects spent less than 10%. The highest exposure was detected during the traveling period and the lowest in bed at home. Based on our results, we concluded that site measurements cannot be used to accurately determine personal exposure. We also concluded that duration of time exposed to RF levels above the detection limit of the personal dosimeter is a useful exposure metric to compare and contrast individual RF exposure of study subjects.  相似文献

This paper reports the combination of Holographic Mapping (HM) and Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) in order to provide a benchmark visualization of a multi-dimensional space in two-dimensional forms. In this approach each matrix point in HM represents virtual catalytic data generated by means of ANNs in order to visualize the given multi-dimensional experimental space. A 12-dimensional experimental space related to the composition of catalysts designed for the water gas shift reaction (WGSR) from 12 possible components supported on ZrO2 is visualized. Catalytic data obtained in an earlier combinatorial screening process at 300 °C were used for training of the ANNs. The results show that the visualization of large experimental spaces having more than half a million virtual experimental points can be accomplished. The analysis of synergistic effects between different components revealed that the key components of water gas shift catalysts at 300 °C were Pt, Fe, Eu and V, while Co, Ru, Sb, Ge and Mo had a pronounced negative effect on the activity.  相似文献

The dried bean beetle, Acanthoscelides obtectus, is an economically important, worldwide pest of legume crops including dry beans, Phaseolus vulgaris. Assessment of A. obtectus infestation levels in pre-harvest field crops and post-harvest granaries is difficult to achieve because there is no effective monitoring tool for early detection so that interventions can be deployed as needed. Because A. obtectus is a generic pollen and nectar feeder, we adopted an electrophysiological (EAG) screening approach, using the antennae of female A. obtectus to identify physiologically active, volatile phytochemicals, which could then be investigated for their attractiveness to A. obtectus in laboratory behavioral assays and preliminary field tests. Of the 27 compounds tested in EAG screening, 5 compounds, i.e., methyl anthranilate, methyl eugenol, benzyl alcohol, (RS)-lavandulol, and 2-phenylethanol, elicited stronger EAG responses than the standard (1-phenylethanol). In 4-arm olfactometer bioassays, female A. obtectus preferred the olfactometer arm containing the odor of either methyl anthranilate or benzyl alcohol compared to the solvent control. In preliminary field tests using these 2 compounds as a binary mixture, at least 5 times as many beetles were caught on baited traps compared to non-baited traps. The field data also suggested that benzyl alcohol was primarily responsible for the field activity of the blend. We hypothesize that the attraction of A. obtectus to the combined benzyl alcohol/methyl anthranilate and the single benzyl alcohol baits is connected to the species` nectar- and pollen-feeding behaviour and not to its intraspecific communication. To our knowledge, this is the first evidence that A. obtectus behavior in the field can be modified by the deployment of plant-derived semiochemicals.

An efficient defect-oriented parametric test method for analog & mixed-signal integrated circuits based on neural network classification of a selected circuit's parameter using wavelet decomposition preprocessing is proposed in this paper. The neural network has been used for detecting catastrophic defects in two experimental analog & mixed-signal CMOS circuits by sensing the abnormalities in selected parameters, observed under defective conditions and by their consequent classification into a proper category. To reduce complexity of the neural network, wavelet decomposition is used to perform preprocessing of the analyzed parameter. Moreover, we show that wavelet analysis brings significant enhancement in the correct classification, and makes the neural network-based test method extremely efficient & versatile for detecting hard-detectable catastrophic defects in analog & mixed-signal circuits.  相似文献

Observers were required to search for and find a target stimulus that differed from distractor stimuli only in chromaticity. Pairs of target and distractor colors were chosen so that in some conditions the two members of a pair differed in hue, in saturation, or in both hue and saturation. For each type of condition, a number of pairs of colors representing varying degrees of perceptual difference were chosen. Each member of each pair of colors served as both the target and distractor color while the other member of the pair served in the remaining role. The largest asymmetries in search times occurred when the target and distractors differed in saturation. Somewhat smaller asymmetries occurred with differences in both saturation and hue, and no asymmetries occurred with hue differences. Results suggest that the asymmetries are related to the time required to encode and transmit the chromatic information centrally rather than the properties of the search process itself.  相似文献

Hierarchical triangulation is a method for point selection and surface representation where the surface is approximated at successively finer levels of detail by triangular patches whose projections in the horizontal plane are nested. A tree data structure for this representation can be constructed in O(n2) worst case and O(n log n) average case time, where n is the number of data points considered. Efficient algorithms for approximation of the elevation of an arbitrary point, contour extraction, and conversion of the hierarchical structure into an ordinary triangulated irregular network, are demonstrated. The convergence and the optimality of the approximation and the relationship of the hierarchical triangulation to a structured graph representation are examined.  相似文献

Long-term effects of Cd, Cr, Cu, Se and Zn were studied 7 years after artificially contaminating plots of an agricultural field on a calcareous chernozem soil. Effects of three to four different contamination levels (originally 10, 30, 90 and 270 mg kg−1) were studied. Nematode density was significantly reduced by 90 and 270 mg kg−1 Se as well as by 270 mg kg−1 Cr, while 90 and 270 mg kg−1 Se also reduced nematode generic richness. Maturity Index values (calculated for c-p 2–5 nematodes) consistently decreased with increasing Cr and Se concentration and to a lesser extent in Zn plots as well. Structure Index showed decreasing trends in increasing Cr, Se and (to a lesser extent) in Zn treatments, while in Cd it shows a moderate increase. Distribution of c-p groups was negatively affected by the increasing Cr and Se concentration, while in Zn plots, this decrease was not significant. Response of feeding groups to pollutions was similar to other parameters: Cr and Se caused significant changes toward the loss of variability. The proportion of the most sensitive omnivorous and predatory nematodes decreased clearly as a consequence of Cr and Se treatments. Zn pollution also resulted in a slight decrease in this group, while Cd caused an increase. Nematode diversity profiles showed a significant decrease in the plots of increased Cr and Se concentrations, while increased concentrations of Cu and Zn resulted in ambiguous effects. Besides providing evidence on the harmful effects of Cr and Se on a soil nematode assemblage, our results suggest that simultaneous analysis of Maturity Index, Structure Index and diversity profiles provide a promising tool in nematological indication of soil pollution.  相似文献

Dermal or transdermal medication may lead to irritant contact dermatitis. However, little information is available on the irritant effect of surfactants which are applied in topical formulations. Our aim was to examine the irritant effect of the most frequent compounds in topical products. A murine model was applied. The following compounds were examined: sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS), polyethoxylated (40EO) hydrogenated castor oil and sucrose laurate. SLS led to severe erythema, increase in transepidermal water loss (TEWL) and induced necrosis and accumulation of neutrophylic granulocytes and lymphocytes. Exposure to sucrose laurate resulted in an elevation of TEWL, but histology did not reveal impairment of the skin structure. Application of polyethoxylated (40EO) hydrogenated castor oil was not accompanied by tissue damage. Special attention should be paid to the irritant effect of SLS. Polyethoxylated (40EO) hydrogenated castor oil seems to be a non-irritant agent and sucrose laurate is also a promising candidate for application in topical preparations.  相似文献

Fe-ZSM-5 zeolites comprise of three types (I, II and III) of iron (Fe3+) sites in both as synthesized (AS) and heat-treated states. Previous evidence could be confirmed by the assignment of ESR lines, registered in the X-band, stating: (i) type I framework Fe3+ sites (in Th oxygen coordination), where charge compensation occurs mainly by Na+ ions and the crystal field (cf) approximates cubic symmetry, produce resonances at near to g = 2.00; (ii) type II and probably type III binuclear Fe...Fe dioxo- and oxo-bridges manifest themselves in producing slightly distorted surroundings of axial symmetry, and the relevant powder-averaged subspectrum is superimposed on the previous one in the g  2.45–1.98 interval. As the temperature of the heat-treatment (HT) is raised, type II and III sites will be annihilated with preference, under concomitant production of amorphous Fe2O3 possessing molecular dispersity. (iii) The weak ESR signal (2–4%) at g  4.27 is attributed to Th coordinated framework sites in the surface layers (≈ 1 u.c. thick) under the influence of solid surface tension, giving rise to fully rhombic cf symmetry.

The size of the ejected Fe2O3 particles, as estimated from Mössbauer spectra (no hyperfine structure at 77 K) is less than 2.9 nm. The extremely large electron affinity of Fe3+ ions manifests itself in decreased ionicity (and unexpectedly dominant cubic symmetry), activity in biomimetic oxidations, autoreduction and spontaneous reoxidation etc.

In the liquid phase oxidation by hydrogen peroxide of n-hexane and cyclohexane the heat-treated Ti-ZSM-5 samples exhibited both activity- and selectivity dependence on HT. On the basis of experiences drawn from the heat-treatments proposal is made for the structures of the defect site (producing the 960 cm−1 IR signal) and the active centre of selective oxidation. The proposal seems to be in accord with the experimental observations (isotopic exchange, MAS-NMR behaviour etc.) published so far.  相似文献

Bone resorption is initiated by osteoclast attachment to the mineralized matrix, cytoskeletal reorganization, cellular polarization, and the formation of the sealing zone. The present study examines the interaction between PYK2 and p130(Cas) (Crk-associated substrate), suggested to be part of the signaling pathway initiated by osteoclast adhesion. Using murine osteoclast-like cells (OCLs) and their mononuclear precursors (pOCs), generated in a co-culture of bone marrow and osteoblastic MB1.8 cells, we show that: 1) p130(Cas) is tyrosine-phosphorylated upon adhesion of pOCs to vitronectin or ligation of beta3 integrins; 2) p130(Cas) colocalizes with PYK2 and the cytoskeletal proteins F-actin, vinculin, and paxillin in the podosomal-rich ring-like structures of OCLs plated on glass and in the sealing zone in actively resorbing OCLs on bone; 3) p130(Cas) and PYK2 form a stable complex in pOCs, independent of tyrosine phosphorylation of either molecule, and this complex is present in Src (-/-) OCLs, in which neither protein is phosphorylated or associated with the osteoclast adhesion structure; 4) the association of p130(Cas) and PYK2 is mediated by the SH3 domain of p130(Cas) and the C-terminal domain of PYK2. These findings suggest that p130(Cas) and its association with PYK2 may play an important role in the adhesion-dependent signaling that leads to cytoskeletal reorganization and formation of the sealing zone during osteoclast activation.  相似文献
