Three intensive consolidation strategies are currently proposed to younger adults with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) in first complete remission (CR): allogeneic or autologous bone marrow transplantation (BMT) and intensive consolidation chemotherapy (ICC). Patients aged 15 to 50 years with de novo AML received an induction treatment with 7 days of cytarabine and either idarubicin or rubidazone. After achievement of a CR, patients up to the age of 40 and having an HLA-identical sibling were assigned to undergo an allogeneic BMT. All the other patients received a first course of ICC with high-dose cytarabine and the same anthracycline as for induction. They were then randomly assigned to either receive a second course of ICC with amsacrine and etoposide or a combination of busulfan and cyclosphosphamide followed by an unpurged autologous BMT. Of 517 eligible patients, 367 had a CR, but only 219 (59.5%) actually received the planned intensive postremission treatment (73 allogeneic BMT, 75 autologous BMT, and 71 ICC). With a median follow-up of 62 months, the 4-year disease-free survival (DFS) of the 367 patients in CR was 39.5%. The 4-year overall survival (OS) of the 517 eligible patients was 40.5%. In multivariate analysis, DFS and OS were influenced only by the initial white blood cell count and by the French-American-British classification. The type of postremission therapy had no significant impact on the outcome. There was no difference in the 4-year DFS and OS between 88 patients for whom an allogeneic BMT was scheduled (respectively, 44% and 53%) and 134 patients of the same age category and without an HLA-identical sibling (respectively, 38% and 53%). Similarly, there was no difference in the outcome between autologous BMT and ICC. The 4-year DFS was 44% for the 86 patients randomly assigned to autologous BMT and 40% for the 78 patients assigned to ICC (P = .41). The 4-year OS was similar in the two groups (50% v 54.5%, P = .72). The median duration of hospitalization and thrombocytopenia were longer after autologous BMT (39 v 32 days, P = .006, and 109.5 v 18.5 days, P = .0001, respectively). After a first course of ICC, a second course of chemotherapy is less myelotoxic than an unpurged autologous BMT but yields comparable DFS and OS rates.  相似文献

The oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) at cobalt tetraazaanulene (CoTAA) modified electrodes was investigated. As a first approach, modified electrodes were prepared by electrodeposition of CoTAA on glassy carbon (GC). The modification of the GC surface was monitored by u.v.–vis. differential reflectance spectroscopy (UVDRS). The recorded spectra (i.e., absorbance as a function of wavelength and time) showed that the electrodeposition of CoTAA at 0.8 V vs Ag|AgCl, that is, at a potential where the TAA ligand is oxidized to TAA+, seems to produce a thin polymer film. Starting from these preliminary results, porous rotating disc electrodes (RDEs) were prepared by electrodeposition of CoTAA (0.8 V vs Ag|AgCl, 1 min) on graphite powder embedded in a recast Nafion® film. The use of a porous RDE allowed comparison of the activity and selectivity of Pt nanoparticles and CoTAA for the ORR under experimental conditions close to those of a fuel cell cathode, that is, at the catalyst|Nafion® interface. The activity towards the ORR of a porous electrode modified by electrodeposition of CoTAA is not affected when methanol is present in the electrolyte phase, whereas a noticeable decrease in the activity of Pt-based oxygen cathodes was observed under the same conditions. Half-cell life tests showed that CoTAA-modified electrodes and Pt-based electrodes have a comparable stability over a period of 90 min.  相似文献

Nafion® can be used as a solid polymer electrolyte in a PEM fuel cell. Direct platinization of the membrane was realized by chemical reduction of a platinum compound. The platinization procedure was modified to enhance the roughness factor and thus to improve the electrocatalytic activity towards ethanol electrooxidation. The Pt–PEM electrodes were characterized by TEM, atomic absorption analysis, cyclic voltammetry and their polarization curves for ethanol electrooxidation.  相似文献

PtRu electrodes with Ru surface concentration ranging from 20 to 50% were prepared by electrolysis of Ru(NO)(NO3)3 at a constant potential and/or by spontaneous Ru deposition performed at open circuit potential from a RuCl3 solution. The amount of either spontaneously or electrochemically deposited ruthenium on the platinum electrode was determined by means of an electrochemical quartz crystal microbalance (EQCM). The effect of the Ru surface concentration on the rate of methanol electrooxidation was also investigated and correlated to the EQCM measurements.  相似文献

The representation within which attention operates was investigated in 3 experiments. The task was similar to that of R. Egly, J. Driver, and R. D. Rafal (1994). Participants had to detect the presence of a target at 1 of 4 ends of 2 shapes, differing in color and form. A precue appeared at 1 of the 4 possible corners. The 2 shapes occupied either the same or different locations in the cuing and target displays. The results showed that the cued object location was attended whether or not space was task relevant, whereas the cued object features (color and form) were attended only when these were task relevant. Moreover, when object file continuity was maintained through continuous movement, attention was found to follow the cued object file as it moved while also accruing to the cued location. Poly(para‐phenylene)s (PPPs) are an interesting class of rigid‐rod polymers that have excellent thermal and mechanical properties. Because of their high degree of crystallinity and lower permeability to methanol, PPPs are insoluble and infusible. A number of methods have been developed to synthesize substituted sulfonated PPPs bearing lateral chains to improve their solubility. In this work, a comparison of the physicochemical properties of three PPP‐based polymers is made with respect to Nafion membranes. One of these polymers was prepared with the postsulfonation method, and the other two were made with a new method of grafting developed in the Commissariat à l'Energie Atomique laboratory (a grafted sulfonated PPP polymer and a grafted perfluorinated sulfonated polymer). The sulfonated PPP polymers were examined for their mechanical properties, small‐angle X‐ray scattering, water absorption, proton conductivity, and methanol permeability.
