Upeonversion Emission and Paramagnctism of Colloid Ba2ErF7 and Ba2ErFT：Yb3＋ Nanoerystals Synthesized with Solvothermal Method

Ultrasmall near-monodisperse Ba2ErF7 nanocrystals with average crystal size 9.6 nm were synthesized with solvothermal method. The X-ray diffraction （XRD） and transmission electron microscopy （TEM） assays reveal that the as-synthesized Ba2ErF7 nanocrystals are of the cubic structure with the cell parameter of 5.943 A, instead of the reported orthorhombic and tetragonal structure. Two emission bands originated from 2Hwj4H3/2 → 4F5/2 and 4F9/2 ----＋ 4115,2 of Er3＋ can be observed under a 980 nm laser excitation. The magnetic mass susceptibility of the as-synthesized BazErF7 nanocrystals reaches 4.293 × 10-5 emu g-1 Oe-1.

An automated vision system for container-code recognition

Automatic container-code recognition is of great importance to the modern container management system. Similar techniques have been proposed for vehicle license plate recognition in past decades. Compared with license plate recognition, automatic container-code recognition faces more challenges due to the severity of nonuniform illumination and invalidation of color information. In this paper, a computer vision based container-code recognition technique is proposed. The system consists of three function modules, namely location, isolation, and character recognition. In location module, we propose a text-line region location algorithm, which takes into account the characteristics of single character as well as the spatial relationship between successive characters. This module locates the text-line regions by using a horizontal high-pass filter and scanline analysis. To resolve nonuniform illumination, a two-step procedure is applied to segment container-code characters, and a projection process is adopted to isolate characters in the isolation module. In character recognition module, the character recognition is achieved by classifying the extracted features, which represent the character image, with trained support vector machines (SVMs). The experimental results demonstrate the efficiency and effectiveness of the proposed technique for practical usage.

Effective Thermal Conductivity of Moist Porous Sintered Nickel Material

The effective thermal conductivity of capillary structures is an important parameter in the thermal performance analysis of loop heat pipes (LHP). In this paper, the effective thermal conductivity of porous sintered nickel material filled with water, ethanediol, and glycerin were measured by means of the hot disk thermal constant analyzer. The measured data were compared with similar measured data and calculated values from models in the literature. The results indicate that the thermal conductivity of the porous material depends on the thermal conductivity of the fluid, the filled ratio, and the porosity of the material.Paper presented at the Seventh Asian Thermophysical Properties Conference, August 23–28, 2004, Hefei and Huangshan, Anhui, P. 电路原理图纸识别系统研究与实现

本文讨论了纸质电路原理图的自动输入和识别,主要理解图纸字符、分立元件和相互间的拓扑关系。首先对扫描得到的光栅图像进行了字符的模式分离,采用8x8网格抽取63种字符的特征,并采用BP神经网络进行识别。提出探索试探法快速跟踪直线/曲线;用特征匹配方法混合识别导线和部分元器件;提出了X/Y坐标正交投影的方法识别元器件,提高了识别速度;而右手边缘跟踪的识别方法抗噪声的性能较强。最终将字符、导线和元器件符号三元素有机结合,得到规范化的图纸输出。
