In this paper we are considering iterative methods for bounding the inverse of a matrix, which make use of interval arithmetic. We present a class of methods as a combination of ordinary Schulz's methods for only approximating the inverse matrix (see [3]) and of well-known interval Schulz's methods (see [1]). Two convergence theorems are proved. Our methods are shown to be asymptotically of the same order of convergence as the ordinary Schulz's methods being part of them. Therefore we are getting considerably more efficient interval methods by our approach than by the classical interval Schulz's methods in [1] or [5]. A numerical example is given.  相似文献

Platinum based nanocatalyst at home made Nb–TiO2 support was synthesized and characterized as the catalyst for oxygen reduction reaction in 0.1 mol dm−3 NaOH, at 25 °C. Nb doped TiO2 catalyst support, containing 5% of Nb, has been synthesized by modified acid-catalyzed sol–gel procedure in non-aqueous medium. BET and X-ray diffraction (XRD) techniques were applied for characterization of synthesized supporting material. XRD analysis revealed only presence of anatase TiO2 phase in synthesized support powder. Existence of any peaks belonging to Nb compounds has not been observed, indicating Nb incorporated into the lattice.Nb–TiO2 supported Pt nanocatalyst synthesized, using borohydride reduction method, was characterized by TEM and HRTEM techniques. Platinum nanoparticles distribution, over Nb doped TiO2 support, was quite homogenous. Mean particle size of about 4 nm was found with no pronounced particle agglomeration. Electrochemical techniques: cyclic voltammetry and linear sweep voltammetry at rotating disc electrode were applied in order to study kinetics and estimate catalytic activity of this new catalyst for the oxygen reduction reaction in alkaline solution. Two different Tafel slopes were found: one close to −90 mV dec−1 in low current density region and other approximately −200 mV dec−1 in high current density region, which is in good accordance with literature results for oxygen reduction at Pt single crystals, as well as Pt nanocatalysts in alkaline solutions. Similar specific catalytic activity (expressed in term of kinetic current density per real surface area) of Nb(5%)–TiO2/Pt catalyst for oxygen reduction reaction in comparison with the carbon supported platinum (Vulcan/Pt) nanocatalyst, was found.  相似文献

In this paper, a simple computational model for isothermal phase change of phase change material (PCM) encapsulated in a single container is presented. The mathematical model was based on an enthalpy formulation with equations cast in such a form that the only unknown variable is the PCM’s temperature. The theoretical model was verified with a test problem and an experiment performed in order to assess the validity of the assumptions of the mathematical model. With very good agreement between experimental and computational data, it can be concluded that conduction within the PCM in the direction of heat transfer fluid flow, thermal resistance of the container’s wall, and the effects of natural convection within the melt can be ignored for the conditions investigated in this study. The numerical analysis of the melting time for rectangular and cylindrical containers was then performed using the computational model presented in this paper. Results show that the rectangular container requires nearly half of the melting time as for the cylindrical container of the same volume and heat transfer area.  相似文献

All organisms exhibit significant daily rhythms in a myriad of functions from molecular levels to the level of the whole organism. Significantly, most of these rhythms will persist under constant conditions, showing that they are driven by an internal circadian clock. In birds the circadian system is composed of several interacting sites, each of which may contain a circadian clock. These sites include the pineal organ, the suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN) of the hypothalamus, and, in some species, the eyes. Light is the most powerful entraining stimulus for circadian rhythms and, in birds, light can affect the system via three different pathways: the eyes, the pineal, and extraretinal photoreceptors located in the deep brain. Circadian pacemakers in the pineal and in the eyes of some avian species communicate with the hypothalamic pacemakers via the rhythmic synthesis and release of the hormone melatonin. Often the hypothalamic pacemakers are unable to sustain persistent rhythmicity in constant conditions in the absence of periodic melatonin input from the pineal (or eyes). It has also been proposed that pineal pacemakers may be unable to sustain rhythmicity in constant conditions without periodic neural input from the SCN. Significant variation can occur among birds in the relative roles that the pineal, the SCN, and the eyes play within the circadian system; for example, in the house sparrow pacemakers in the pineal play the predominant role, in the pigeon circadian pacemakers in both the pineal and eyes play a significant role, and in Japanese quail ocular pacemakers play the predominant role.  相似文献

Polycrystalline ferroelectric Bi4Ti3O12 ceramics have been prepared by the method of reactive liquid phase sintering. The sintering behaviour of the Bi2O3-TiO2 composite was examined by plotting the isothermal densification curves. The results indicate that the starting oxides are involved in the reaction even at temperatures lower than or equal to 800°C, but the reaction advances at a very slow rate. Above solidus, the liquid phase promotes an extended reaction. Saturation observed in two densification curves, at 875 and 1100°C demonstrate that the reaction proceeds by two steps. A completion of the Bi4Ti3O12 formation occurs after 60 min of sintering at 1100°C. Optical micrographs of sintered bismuth titanate ceramics show randomly oriented ferroelectric grains separated by a paraelectric intergranular layer. The Bi4Ti3O12 crystallites exhibit a platelike morphology, similar in the appearance to mica, as evidenced by scanning electron micrographs. Isothermal annealing (750 to 950°C) does not affect the microstructure and electric properties of sintered bismuth titanate. The considerable value of dielectric permittivity and the appearance of hysteresis have been correlated to the presence of oxygen vacancies within the pseudotetragonal structure of Bi4Ti3O12. The oxygen vacancies are preferentially sited in the vicinity of bismuth ions as evidenced by X-ray photoemission data. XPS and AES measurements confirm that the surface concentration of cations comprising the Bi4Ti3O12 ceramics does not deviate from the nominal bulk composition.  相似文献

This paper describes improvements introduced in data reduction in direct heating pulse specific heat experiments. In calculations of specific heat, it is necessary to calculate the first derivative of the recorded temperature data as a function of time. The error induced by different numerical differentiation techniques can represent a significant part of the overall measurement error. Thus, different digital filtering techniques, differentiation, and smoothing algorithms were applied and tested to examine their influence on the minimization of errors induced by noise, which is unavoidable in measured signals. A minimum square error criterion was applied in designing digital filters, with arbitrary prescribed magnitude characteristics. Attention was paid to applications when one or more structural phase transitions in the specimen material occur within the temperature range covered by the experiment. The cases where the frequency spectrum of induced noise overlaps with the spectrum of temperature transient signals originating from phase transitions were analyzed in detail. Magnetic behavior of C60 thin films in the Earth's magnetic field under polarization light influence is presented. Transformation of magnetic field for two fullerene thin films of different thickness is investigated. Two proton magnetometers were used for these measurements. Samples of 30 nm and 250 nm thickness illustrate a significant change of magnetic field intensity under the influence of polarization light, in range from 3.4 to 12.9 nT, for 200 measurement data per sample.  相似文献

Retinoid signalling plays an important role in embryonic pattern formation. Excess of retinoic acid during gastrulation results in axial defects in vertebrate embryos, suggesting that retinoids are involved in early anteroposterior patterning. To study retinoid signalling in zebrafish embryos, we developed a novel method to detect endogenous retinoids in situ in embryos, using a fusion protein of the ligand inducible transactivation domain of a retinoic acid receptor and a heterologous DNA binding domain. Using this method, we show that retinoid signalling is localized in zebrafish embryos in the region of the embryonic shield, and towards the end of gastrulation in a posterior dorsal domain. To investigate the relationships between the spatial distribution of retinoid signalling and the regulation of retinoid target genes, we studied the downregulation by retinoic acid of two genes expressed in anterior regions of the embryo, goosecoid and otx1. These experiments show that expression of both genes is strongly downregulated in the anterior neurectoderm of zebrafish embryos treated with retinoic acid, whereas mesendodermal expression is only mildly affected. Interestingly, a significant downregulation of goosecoid expression by retinoic acid was observed only during midgastrulation but not in earlier stages. In agreement with these results, spatial expression of goosecoid and otx1 does not overlap with the region of retinoid signalling in the late gastrula. Our data support the hypothesis that a localized retinoid signal is involved in axial patterning during early development, at least in part through the repression of anterior genes in posterior regions of the embryo. Furthermore, our data suggest that the action of retinoids is spatially as well as temporally regulated in the developing embryo.  相似文献

Rapidly progressive glomerulonephritis is a kidney disease leading to sudden and definitive damages of the renal parenchyma and progressive impairment of its function until the complete failure. Histological findings of the changes are characterized with dominant glomerular lesions with crescentic formations. Early and intensive immunosuppressive therapy with pulse doses of steroids (Solumedrol 1.5 to 2.5 g), followed by Prednisolone 1 mg/kg every other day and cytostatic drugs (cyclophosphamide 1-2 mg-kg/every other day) discontinues the processes of specific and non-specific inflammation in the kidney and could enable regeneration of the kidney tissues with favorable outcome of the disease. Immunosuppressive therapy should be gradually lowered after two months, and applied for at least three to six months.  相似文献
