Antisera from rabbits inoculated with cardiolipin react with both cardiolipin and phosphatidylinositol. Antiphosphatidylinositol antisera also react with both phospholipids. The advent of 2D nanostructured materials as advanced fillers for polymer matrix composites has opened the doors to a plethora of new industrial applications requiring both electric and thermal management. Unique properties, in fact, can arise from accurate selection and processing of 2D fillers and their matrix. Here, we report an innovative family of nanocomposite membranes based on polyurethane (PU) and graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs), designed to improve thermal comfort in functional textiles. GNP particles were thoroughly characterized (through Raman, atomic force microscopy, high-resolution TEM, scanning electron microscope), and showed high crystallinity (ID/IG = 0.127), low thickness (D50 < 6–8 layers), and high lateral dimensions (D50 ≈ 3 μm). When GNPs were loaded (up to 10% wt/wt) into the PU matrix, their homogeneous dispersion resulted in an increase of the in-plane thermal conductivity of composite membranes up to 471%. The thermal dissipation of membranes, alone or coupled with cotton fabric, was further evaluated by means of an ad hoc system designed to simulate a human forearm. The results obtained provide a new strategy for the preparation of membranes suitable for technical textiles, with improved thermal comfort.  相似文献

Virtual reality games for rehabilitation are attracting increasing growth. In particular, there is a demand for games that allow therapists to identify an individual’s difficulties and customize the control of variables, such as speed, size, distance, as well as visual and auditory feedback. This study presents and describes a virtual reality software package (Bridge Games) to promote rehabilitation of individuals living with disabilities and highlights preliminary researches of its use for implementing motor learning and rehabilitation. First, the study presents seven games in the software package that can be chosen by the rehabilitation team, considering the patient’s needs. All game characteristics are described including name, function presentation, objective and valuable measurements for rehabilitation. Second, preliminary results illustrate some applications of two games, considering 343 people with various disabilities and health status. Based on the results, in the Coincident Timing game, there was a main effect of movement sensor type (in this instance the most functional device was the keyboard when compared with Kinect and touch screen) on average time reached by sample analyzed, F(2, 225) = 4.42, p < 0.05. Similarly, in the Challenge! game, a main effect was found for movement sensor type. However, in this case, touch screen provided better performance than Kinect and Leap Motion, F(2, 709) = 5.90, p < 0.01. Thus, Bridge Games is a possible software game to quantify motor learning. Moreover, the findings suggest that motor skills might be practiced differently depending on the environmental interface in which the game may be used.  相似文献

Metallic transfer from implants does not stop at surrounding tissues, and metallic elements may be transferred by proteins to become lodged in organs far from the implant. This work presents an in vivo study of metallic implant corrosion to measure metallic element accumulation in organs located far from the implant, such as kidneys, livers, lungs and spleens. The studied metallic implant materials were CoCr alloy, Ti, and the experimental alloy MA956 coated with α-alumina. The implants were inserted in the hind legs of Wistar rats. Analysis for Co, Cr, Ti and Al metallic traces was performed after a long exposure time of 12 months by Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP) with Mass Spectrometry (MS). According to the results, the highest Cr and Ti concentrations were detected in spleens. Co is mainly found in kidneys, since this element is eliminated via urine. Cr and Ti traces increased significantly in rat organs after the long implantation time. The organs of rats implanted with the α-alumina coated experimental MA956 did not present any variation in Al content after 12 months, which means there was no degradation of the alumina layer surface.  相似文献

Vertical greenery modular systems (VGMSs) are an increasingly widespread building envelope solution aimed at improving the aesthetical quality of both new and existing façades, contemporarily achieving high energy efficiency performance. Within a research project, a new prototype of VGMS was developed, designed and tested. An experimental monitoring campaign was carried out on a test cell located in Turin (northern Italy), aimed at assessing both biometric parameters and energy-related issues. Two different types of growing media and two plant species, Lonicera nitida L. and Bergenia cordifolia L., have been tested on a south-facing lightweight wall. Results have been compared to the same wall without VGMS and plaster finished, in order to characterise the thermal insulation effectiveness in the winter period and the heat gain reduction in the summer period. Measured equivalent thermal transmittance values of the green modular system showed a 40 % reduction, when compared to the plastered wall, thus noticeably impacting on the energy crossing the façade during the heating season. Benefits of the VGMS are measured also during the summer season, when the presence of vegetation lowers the outdoor surface temperatures of the wall up to 23 °C compared to the plastered finishing, with a positive effect on outdoor comfort and urban heat island mitigation. Nevertheless, as far as the entering energies are concerned, not significant reduction was observed for VGMS, compared to the reference plastered wall, since the green coverage acts as a thermal buffer and solar radiation is stored and slowly released to the indoor environment.  相似文献

Fundamental and applied investigation of ZnO has been recently experiencing a renaissance due to its prospective use in various technological domains and, in particular, as transparent conductive oxide (TCO). In this respect, the present work aims to study the structural and physical properties of ZnO thin films deposited by RF sputtering in pure Ar and Ar–H2 plasmas, at various concentrations (0–50%). The plasma chemical species were followed in function of the different gas mixture settings by optical emission spectroscopy (OES). X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and ATR-FTIR (Attenuated Total Reflection Fourier-Transformed Infrared) spectroscopy were used to study the bulk and surface chemical composition of the films, X-ray Diffraction (XRD) analysis allowed lattice structure and grain size determination while samples morphology was checked with a scanning electron microscope (SEM). The films were also characterized for their electrical and optical properties.The introduction of hydrogen in the plasma phase strongly affected the structural, chemical and physical properties of the films. In particular a pronounced change in the film electrical behavior was observed which become conductive when H is added in the gas mixture ([H2] > 6%). The film transparency was on the other hand maintained. By combining XPS, ATR-FTIR and OES data we could correlate the established conductivity and its variations with intentional hydrogen incorporation in the crystal structure in the form of hydroxide species.  相似文献

The ability to genetically modify cells seeded inside synthetic hydrogel scaffolds offers a suitable approach to induce and control tissue repair and regeneration guiding cell fate. In fact the transfected cells can act as local in vivo bioreactor, secreting plasmid encoded proteins that augment tissue regeneration processes. We have realized a DNA bioactivated high porous poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) matrix by polyethyleneimine (PEI)/DNA complexes adsorption. As the design of the microarchitectural features of a scaffold also contributes to promote and influence cell fate, we appropriately designed the inner structure of gene activated PEG hydrogels by gelatine microparticles templating. Microarchitectural properties of the scaffold were analysed by scanning electron microscopy. 3D cell migration and transfection were monitored through time-lapse videomicroscopy and confocal laser scanning microscopy.  相似文献

Chronic and recreational use of cocaine has been shown to impair inhibitory output control (response inhibition) but whether input control is also affected is an open question. For the first time, this study compared the ability to perform a cued target-discrimination task that measured inhibition of return (IOR), a reflexive inhibitory mechanism that delays attention from returning to a previously attended location, in adult recreational users and in a cocaine-free-matched sample controlled for age, race, gender distribution, and level of intelligence.
