This work describes the determination of aluminum in tea infusions and iced tea by tungsten coil atomic emission spectrometry (WCAES). The instrumentation is simple, inexpensive, and potentially portable. It uses a tungsten filament extracted from 150 W, 15 V commercially available slide projector light bulbs as electrothermal atomizer. A simple power supply that provides a constant potential is used to heat the coil. Tea infusions were directly analyzed by application of an optimized heating program. In order to avoid matrix interferences, the iced tea samples were diluted with an oxidizing mixture composed of hydrogen peroxide and nitric acid and also analyzed by a tailored heating program. Aluminum was quantified in all samples, and the results were in agreement with those obtained by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry at a 95 % confidence level. The limit of detection and the relative standard deviation for a solution containing 2.5 mg L?1 Al (n?=?10) were determined, and the values were 0.09 mg L?1 and 5.1 %, respectively.  相似文献

Here in, we describe an ultrafast, single-step microwave irradiation route (MW) to prepare graphene supported Pt nanoparticles, during which the small Pt nanoparticles are distributed uniformly on a reduced graphene oxide surface. This route provides evident advantages namely low cost, easiness, low time consuming and high yield in comparison to actual chemical methods to develop efficient Pt/rGO catalyst with Pt content close to state-of-the-art commercial composition. The structure and composition of prepared samples have been studied by specific techniques, while the electrocatalytic stability has been studied using ex-situ and in-situ measurements. High performance and electrochemically stable catalyst for PEM fuel cells was developed using the sample with highest loading and good dispersion. The fabricated Pt-rGO-based MEA was investigated for durability under fuel starvation in comparison with commercial Pt/C-based MEA. The electrocatalytic activity was investigated and the electrochemical response revealed the higher stability during accelerated degradation test under fuel starvation in comparison with commercial Pt/C. This study promotes the applicability of described preparation method to noble or transition metal nanoparticles embedded on graphene-based materials.  相似文献

A monoclonal antibody raised against mixed monolayers of 60:40 mol % cholesterol/C16-ceramide of known structure was used to label cholesterol/ceramide-rich domains in cell membranes. The antibody, Cer-Chol 405F specifically recognizes the mixed crystalline and homogeneous phase in monolayers, but it does not interact with either of the components separately. It interacts differently with mixed monolayers that contain ceramides of different acyl chain length. When used on cells, the antibody labeling is sensitive to changes in cholesterol and ceramide levels, as well as to over-expression of specific ceramides; this is in agreement with the results that were obtained on lipid monolayers. This represents a proof of concept of the applicability of a new approach to the structural characterization of lipid microdomains in cell membranes. The approach consists of raising antibodies that recognize specific structural organizations of lipids in artificial mixtures, characterizing the antibody/ordered domain complexes in vitro, and subsequently using them to detect the presence of the same (or similar) domains in cell membranes.  相似文献

The textile industry is responsible for discarding wastewater contaminated with dyes. The timber industry generates waste in the form of sawdust. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the adsorptive potential of sawdust obtained from the Aspidosperma polyneuron tree for the removal of the textile dye from wastewater. Sawdust was subjected to different pre-treatments (acid, alkaline and polyethyleneimine) in order to increase its adsorption capacity. Based on the results from the isotherms, treatment with polyethyleneimine (PEI) led to the greatest adsorption capacity and fits the Freundlich model, indicating cooperative adsorption. Other treatments with sawdust best fit the Langmuir model, but the untreated sawdust presented better results than the treated sawdust. These results were only surpassed by sawdust treated with PEI. A. polyneuron revealed good potential for use as an adsorbent to remove dyes, which is a novel result, since to date there is no study on its use as a sorbent material.  相似文献

The effects of tailoring FeCo alloys with addition of ternary elements Pt, Pd, Mn, Ir, and Re have been investigated. In the composition range of 30 to 70 pct Co, FeCo alloys undergo a continuous order-disorder phase transition at a maximum temperature of 730 °C at the equiatomic composition. The effects of temperature and composition on the degree of long-range order in six alloys (Fe70Co30, Fe67Co30Pt3, Fe67Co30Pd3, Fe67Co30Mn3, Fe67Co30Ir3, and Fe67Co30Re3; at. pct) were compared using neutron diffraction. The transition goes along with growing of antiphase domains during the heating process.  相似文献

Bisphenol A (BPA) is a widespread environmental contaminant, found in human fluids and tissues. Maternal BPA exposure is associated with alterations in pregnancy outcomes. Because maternal uterine circulation plays a crucial role in normal placenta and fetal growth, we hypothesized that BPA compromises the function of uterine arteries (UAs) and fetoplacental development. Female rats were orally administered with BPA (2.5, 25 and 250 µg/kg/day) or with its vehicle (ethanol) for 30 days before pregnancy and during the first 20 days of pregnancy. To compare the effect of BPA in the reproductive vs. systemic circulation, it was tested on UAs and mesenteric arteries (MAs). Arteries were isolated and examined by pressure myography. Moreover, fetuses and placentas were weighed to provide an index of reproductive performance. In UAs of BPA-treated rats, lumen diameter, acetylcholine-relaxation and expressions of endothelial nitric oxide synthase 3 (NOS3), estrogen receptor α (ERα) and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor ɣ (PPARɣ) were reduced. Conversely, no changes were observed in MAs. BPA treatment also reduced placental weights, while fetal weights were increased. For the first time, our results indicate that UAs represent a specific target of BPA during pregnancy and provide insight into the molecular mechanisms that underlie its negative effects on pregnancy outcomes.  相似文献

α,β-amyrenone (ABAME) is a triterpene derivative with many biological activities; however, its potential pharmacological use is hindered by its low solubility in water. In this context, the present work aimed to develop inclusion complexes (ICs) of ABAME with γ- and β-cyclodextrins (CD), which were systematically characterized through molecular modeling studies as well as FTIR, XRD, DSC, TGA, and SEM analyses. In vitro analyses of lipase activity were performed to evaluate possible anti-obesity properties. Molecular modeling studies indicated that the CD:ABAME ICs prepared at a 2:1 molar ratio would be more stable to the complexation process than those prepared at a 1:1 molar ratio. The physicochemical characterization showed strong evidence that corroborates with the in silico results, and the formation of ICs with CD was capable of inducing changes in ABAME physicochemical properties. ICs was shown to be a stronger inhibitor of lipase activity than Orlistat and to potentiate the inhibitory effects of ABAME on porcine pancreatic enzymes. In conclusion, a new pharmaceutical preparation with potentially improved physicochemical characteristics and inhibitory activity toward lipases was developed in this study, which could prove to be a promising ingredient for future formulations.  相似文献

In the dipteran genus Hermetia, only 6 of the 78 valid species have documented immature stages: H. albitarsis Fabricius, 1805, H. aurata Bellardi, 1859, H. concinna Williston, 1900, H. illucens (Linnaeus, 1758), H. panamensis Greene, 1940 and H. pulchra Weidemann, 1830. In particular, H. illucens stands out due to its reported applicability for forensic, medical and economic purposes. Here, we described the morphology of eggs and immature stages of this species, with a view to detecting differences between instars and in the pupal stage, which should eventually help properly identifying larval age. We utilized both optical and scanning electron microscopy tools. The eggs are elliptical and elongated, and color varies from cream white to yellowish. The larvae are apodal, hemichephalic and holopneustic, flattened dorso‐ventrally and may be recognized by the head elongated, dorsal and ventral chaetotaxy of the cephalic capsule, thoracic and abdominal segments, and the morphology of the anterior and posterior spiracles. The pupae are adecticous and coarctate, tegument dark brown and pruinescence varying from brown to golden. The overall morphology across instars is similar, but marked variations were observed in the shape of the antennal articuli and the shape of the setae (first instar compared to the others). Our results supplement the biological information on Hermetia illucens and should aid the proper identification and aging of juveniles in the field, as a way to minimize errors in the calculation of the post‐mortem interval.  相似文献
