The equation of motion of linear dynamic systems with viscoelastic memory is usually expressed in a integrodifferential form, and its numerical solution is computationally heavy. In two recent papers, the writers suggested that the system memory be accounted for through the introduction of a number of additional internal variables. Following this approach, the motion of the system is governed by a set of first-order, linear differential equations, whose solution is quite easy. In this paper, the approach is extended to single-degree-of-freedom systems subjected to random, nonstationary excitation. The equations governing the time variation of the second-order statistics are derived, and an effective step-by-step solution procedure is proposed. Numerical example shows the accuracy of the procedure for white and nonwhite excitations.  相似文献

The regulation of programmed cell death in the developing nervous system involves target-derived survival factors, afferent synaptic activity, and hormone- and cytokine-dependent signaling. Cultured immature cerebellar granule neurons die by apoptosis within several days in vitro unless maintained in depolarizing (high) concentrations of potassium (25 mM K+). Here we report that transforming growth factors (TGF)-beta1, -beta2, and -beta3 accelerate apoptosis of these neurons when maintained in physiological (low) K+ medium (5mM K+) as assessed by measures of viability, quantitative DNA fragmentation, and nuclear morphology. TGF-beta-induced apoptosis of these neurons is not blocked by CNTF and LIF, cytokines that enhance neuronal survival when applied alone, or by IGF-I, which prevents apoptosis upon potassium withdrawal. In contrast, neurons that differentiate in high K+ medium for several days in vitro acquire resistance to TGF-beta-mediated cell death. Granule neurons maintained in either low or high K+ medium produce latent, but not bioactive, TGF-beta1 and -beta2. Because neutralizing TGF-beta antibodies fail to augment survival of low K+ neurons, the cerebellar neurons are apparently unable to activate latent TGF-beta. Thus, apoptosis of low K+ neurons is not attributable to endogenous production of TGF-beta. Taken together, our data suggest that TGF-beta may limit the expansion of postmitotic neuronal precursor populations by promoting their apoptosis but may support survival of those neurons that have maturated, differentiated, and established supportive synaptic connectivity.  相似文献

In this work, we discuss how periodic forcing may induce symmetry properties into mathematical models of chemical reactors. We define a class of reactors subjected to discontinuous periodic forcing, and show that all the reactors belonging to this class have spatio-temporal symmetry. This symmetry and its influence on the possible bifurcation scenarios are discussed. The bifurcation analysis is carried out with suitable discrete systems that exploit a property of the Poincaré map. In fact, it is shown that the spatio-temporal symmetry induced by the forcing makes the Poincaré map of the continuous system an iterate of another map. On this basis, a technique to implement parameter continuation methods is proposed. With such a technique, it is also possible to characterize symmetric and nonsymmetric regimes and unstable limit sets otherwise undetected with “bruteforce” approaches. Examples for reverseflow reactors and networks of n-reactors with periodically switched feed and discharge positions are presented.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the problem of actively providing an estimate of the state of a stochastic dynamic system over a (possibly long) finite time horizon. The active estimation problem (AEP) is formulated as a stochastic optimal control one, in which the minimization of a suitable uncertainty measure is carried out. Toward this end, the use of the Renyi entropy as an information measure is proposed and motivated. A neural control scheme, based on the application of the extended Ritz method (ERIM) and on the use of a Gaussian sum filter (GSF), is then presented. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed approach.  相似文献

In this paper, the authors propose two modeling procedures for wind speed simulation. These procedures could be implemented on the structure of a wind turbine simulator during studies concerning stand-alone or hybrid wind systems. The evolution of a horizontal wind speed has been synthesized taking into account two components. The medium- and long-term component is described by a power spectrum associated to a specific site. The turbulence component is assumed to be dependent on the medium- and long-term wind speed evolution. It is considered as a nonstationary process. Two simulation methods for this component, using rational and nonrational filters are proposed. In both procedures, the turbulence model is defined by two parameters, which are either obtained experimentally, or adopted a priori, according to information from the considered site. Numerical results and implementation aspects are also discussed.  相似文献

F2-isoprostanes are prostaglandin (PG) isomers produced in vivo through free radical-catalyzed peroxidation of arachidonic acid, which may affect platelet function. The current study investigated the effects of 8-epiprostaglandin F2alpha (8-epi-PGF2alpha) on critical events of platelet activation. A dose-dependent increase in platelet adhesion to fibrinogen- and plasma-coated microwells by 8-epi-PGF2alpha (1 to 1000 nmol/L) was observed when resting platelets (plasma from 1.3+/-0.2% to 5.5+/-0.2%, EC50 of 48 nmol/L; fibrinogen from 3.3+/-0.3% to 6.4+/-0.2%, EC50 of 35 nmol/L; mean+/-SEM, n=8, P<0.001) and thrombin-stimulated human platelets were used. The expression of the adhesion molecule glycoprotein IIb/IIIa was increased by 10 to 1000 nmol/L 8-epi-PGF2alpha in resting platelets (from 64.8+/-2.1% to 83.9+/-1.3%; n=5, P<0.01) and in stimulated platelets. The secretion of the glycoprotein GMP-140 increased only in the presence of both thrombin and 10 to 1000 nmol/L 8-epi-PGF2alpha (from 48.5+/-3.1% to 63.1+/-2.0%, P<0.05). The antiaggregatory effects of both the NO donor NOR-3 (basal, 21.4+/-4.6%; with 8-epi-PGF2alpha, 30.8+/-6.9%; n=14, P<0.05) and endothelial cells that release NO (basal, 18.5+/-4.6%; with 8-epi-PGF2alpha, 30.7+/-5.3%; n=15, P<0.001) were also reduced. All of these effects were prevented by the thromboxane receptor antagonist GR32191 but not affected by acetylsalicylic acid. An increase in free intracellular calcium concentration, measured with the use of fura 2, was observed with 8-epi-PGF2alpha. In conclusion, F2-isoprostanes may participate in oxidative injury by inducing platelet activation and by reducing the antiplatelet activity of NO: increased platelet adhesiveness and expression of the fibrinogen receptor are induced by nanomolar amounts of 8-epi-PG-F2alpha. Platelet secretion and aggregation can also be induced in the presence of platelet agonists.  相似文献

Subacute stent thrombosis and hemorrhagic complications due to intensive anticoagulant therapy limit the clinical benefit of coronary stenting. Antithrombotic therapy after coronary stent placement has not been standardized yet. From January 1994 to December 1995 a total of 338 Palmaz-Schatz stents were implanted in 285 patients. Procedural success rate was 98.8%. In the initial period, after stent placement, patients were treated with acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) and warfarin (135 patients, Group A), while subsequently, according to the results of other studies, patients were treated with ASA plus ticlopidine (146 patients, Group B). Two hours after sheath removal, Group A patients were treated with intravenous heparin until therapeutic INR (2.5-3.5) was reached; warfarin was stopped 3 months later. In Group B patients 2 hours after sheath removal a treatment with subcutaneous heparin 25,000 IU/die plus ticlopidine 500 mg/die was started. Subcutaneous heparin was maintained until hospital discharge, ticlopidine was stopped after 1 month and ASA was maintained indefinitely. There were no significant differences in baseline characteristics between the two groups. Most patients had unstable angina and in the majority of cases the stent was implanted due to intimal dissection after balloon dilation. Eleven patients had subacute thrombosis of the stent (3.9%): 9 patients were in Group A (6%) and 2 patients were in Group B (1.3%; p = 0.04). Seven patients (6 in Group A, 1 in Group B) were treated with emergency coronary angioplasty and 3 (2 in Group A, 1 in Group B) with coronary bypass; nevertheless 7 patients (6 in Group A, 1 in Group B) had an acute myocardial infarction. Eight patients (6 in Group A, 2 in Group B) had major bleeding due to a large groin hematoma requiring blood transfusion or vascular surgery. In conclusion, after coronary stenting antithrombotic therapy with ASA plus ticlopidine, as compared with anticoagulant therapy, reduces the incidence of both cardiac events and hemorrhagic complications.  相似文献

 There has been considerable controversy in concurrency theory between the ‘interleaving’ and ‘true concurrency’ schools. The former school advocates associating a transition system with a process which captures concurrent execution via the interleaving of occurrences; the latter adopts more complex semantic structures to avoid reducing concurrency to interleaving. In this paper we show that the two approaches are not irreconcilable. We define a timed process algebra where occurrences are associated with intervals of time, and give it a transition system semantics. This semantics has many of the advantages of the interleaving approach; the algebra admits an expansion theorem, and bisimulation semantics can be used as usual. Our transition systems, however, incorporate timing information, and this enables us to express concurrency: merely adding timing appropriately generalises transition systems to asynchronous transition systems, showing that time gives a link between true concurrency and interleaving. Moreover, we can provide a complete axiomatisation of bisimulation for our algebra; a result that is often problematic in a timed setting. Another advantage of incorporating timing information into the calculus is that it allows a particularly simple definition of action refinement; this we present. The paper concludes with a comparison of the equivalence we present with those in the literature, and an example system specification in our formalism.
