The IR data in 20-296 K temperatures interval for carbon-, silicon- and germanium tetrachlorides are given. It is shown that the spectral picture of bands, appearing in higher frequencies region relatively to element-chlorine stretching, considerably changes at the temperature variation and therefore can be assigned to the vibrations of different molecular shapes. The interpretation of the obtained results based on the suggested model of transformation in the structure of tetrachlorides. This transformation leads to the arising of an active chlorine atom in molecules of element-tetrachlorides. 相似文献

Relapse is the rule rather than the exception among smokers attempting to quit, and compared to men, women may have higher relapse rates. The current study was a randomized clinical trial testing a palmtop computer-delivered treatment (CDT) for smoking relapse prevention among women. The intervention was individualized based on key theoretical constructs that were measured using ecological momentary assessment (EMA). All participants (N = 302) received standard smoking cessation treatment consisting of nicotine replacement therapy and group counseling, and completed EMA procedures for one week after quitting. At the completion of the group counseling sessions and EMA procedures, participants were randomized to either CDT or no further computer-delivered treatment or assessment (EMA-Only). CDT participants received a palmtop computer-delivered relapse prevention treatment for one additional month. CDT did not improve abstinence rates relative to EMA-Only. Process analyses suggested that heavier smokers were more likely to use CDT and that greater use among CDT participants may be associated with more positive outcomes. The rapid pace of technological advances in mobile computer technology and the ubiquity of such devices provide a novel platform for developing new and potentially innovative treatments. The data on the effects of polymerization duration, cocatalyst, and monomer concentrations upon ethylene polymerization in the absence of hydrogen, and the effect of an additional chain transfer agent (hydrogen) on the molecular weight (MW), molecular weight distribution (MWD), and content of vinyl terminal groups for polyethylene (PE) produced over the supported titanium‐magnesium catalyst (TMC) are obtained. The effects of these parameters on nonuniformity of active sites for different chain transfer reactions are analyzed by deconvolution of the experimental MWD curves into Flory components. It has been shown that the polymer MW grows, the MWD becomes narrower and the content of vinyl terminal groups in PE increases with increasing polymerization duration. It is assumed to occur due to the reduction of the rate of chain transfer with AlEt3 with increasing polymerization duration. The polydispersity of PE is found to rise with increasing AlEt3 concentration and decreasing monomer concentration due to the emergence of additional low molecular weight Flory components. The ratios of the individual rate constants of chain transfer with AlEt3, monomer and hydrogen to the propagation rate constant have been calculated. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The aim of this study was to improve mechanical properties of polypropylene/cycloolefin copolymer (PP/COC) blends by processing‐induced formation of long COC fibers. According to the available literature, the fibrous morphology in PP/COC blends was observed just once by coincidence. For this reason, we focused our attention on finding processing conditions yielding PP/COC fibrous morphology in a well‐defined, reproducible way. A number of PP/COC blends were prepared by both compression molding and injection molding (IM). Neat polymers were characterized by rheological measurements, whereas phase morphology of the resulting PP/COC blends was characterized by means of scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The longest COC fibers were achieved in the injection molded PP/COC blends with compositions 75/25 and 70/30 wt %. Elastic modulus and yield strength of all blends were measured as functions of the blend composition using an Instron tensile tester; statistically significant improvement of the yield strength due to fibrous morphology was proved. Moreover, two different models were applied in the analysis of mechanical properties: (i) the equivalent box model for isotropic blends and (ii) the Halpin‐Tsai model for long fiber composites. In all PP/COC blends prepared by IM, the COC fibers were oriented in the processing direction, as documented by SEM micrographs, and acted as a reinforcing component, as evidenced by stress–strain measurements. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Computer simulation has uncovered the geometrical conditions under which the vertebrate striated muscle sarcomere can contract. First, all thick filaments should have identical structure, namely: three myosin cross-bridges, building a crown, should be aligned at angles of 0°, 120°, 180°, and the successive crowns and the two filament halves should be turned around 120°. Second, all thick filaments should act simultaneously. Third, coordination in action of the myosin cross-bridges should exist, namely: the three cross-bridges of a crown should act simultaneously and the cross-bridge crowns axially 43 and 14.333 nm apart should act, respectively, simultaneously and with a phase shift. Fifth, six thin filaments surrounding the thick filament should be turned around 180° to each other in each sarcomere half. Sixth, thin filaments should be oppositely oriented in relation to the sarcomere middle. Finally, the structure of each of the thin filaments should change in consequence of strong interaction with myosin heads, namely: the axial distance and the angular alignment between neighboring actin monomers should be, respectively, 2.867 nm and 168° instead of 2.75 nm and 166.15°. These conditions ensure the stereo-specific interaction between actin and myosin and good agreement with the data gathered by electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction methods. The results suggest that the force is generated not only by the myosin cross-bridges but also by the thin filaments; the former acts by cyclical unwrapping and wrapping the thick filament backbone, and the latter byelongation. 相似文献

An HPLC method for the determination of sweet-tasting stevioside (STS) in the leaves of the plant Stevia rebaudiana and in some beverages (e.g. tea, orange juice) was developed. The pre-separation procedure consisted of extraction of STS
from the plant material using boiling water and a solid-phase extraction (SPE). Recovery rates of the SPE for the analysed
matrices ranged from 92.8% to 97.8% (for concentrations of STS of 105, 210 and 300 μg/ml; Relative Standard Deviation (RSD)≤3.3%).
The chromatographic separations were realized using a C18 column, the mobile phase consisting of methanol and water, and with UV detection at 210 nm. The limits of determination of
STS were 5 μg/ml for the leaf extracts and the tea sample and 8 μg/ml for the juice sample.

The activity of specific populations of neurons in different brain areas makes decisions regarding proper synaptic transmission, the ability to make adaptations in response to different external signals, as well as the triggering of specific regulatory pathways to sustain neural function. The endocannabinoid system (ECS) appears to be a very important, highly expressed, and active system of control in the central nervous system (CNS). Functionally, it allows the cells to respond quickly to processes that occur during synaptic transmission, but can also induce long-term changes. The endocannabinoids (eCBs) belong to a large family of bioactive lipid mediators that includes amides, esters, and ethers of long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids. They are produced “on demand” from the precursors located in the membranes, exhibit a short half-life, and play a key role as retrograde messengers. eCBs act mainly through two receptors, CB1R and CB2R, which belong to the G-protein coupled receptor superfamily (GPCRs), but can also exert their action via multiple non-receptor pathways. The action of eCBs depends on Ca2+, but eCBs can also regulate downstream Ca2+ signaling. In this short review, we focus on the regulation of neuronal calcium channels by the most effective members of eCBs-2-arachidonoylglycerol (2-AG), anandamide (AEA) and originating from AEA-N-arachidonoylglycine (NAGly), to better understand the contribution of ECS to brain function under physiological conditions. 相似文献

A gas chromatography method, coupled with diode array photometric spectral detection in the ultraviolet region (167-330 nm), was developed for the analysis of the gas phase of cigarette smoke. The method enabled us to identify more than 20 volatiles present in the vapor phase of cigarette smoke. In that way, all major volatile organic compounds (including aldehydes, conjugated dienes, ketones, sulfides, furans, and single-ring aromatics), as well as nitric oxide (NO) and hydrogen sulfide (H(2)S), can be analyzed in a straightforward manner through a single chromatographic run of <50-min duration. The method can easily be applied by the introduction of a small volume of the gas-phase stream into the GC injection loop directly through the smoking apparatus exhaust circuit, thus providing an excellent alternative to available methods, which usually require extraction or concentration steps prior to any chromatographic analysis. Furthermore, all problems concerning aging of the gas phase are eliminated. Twelve compounds (including NO) were chosen for quantification through the use of appropriate calibration standards. Comparison of the vapor phase yields of these compounds for the reference cigarette Kentucky 1R4F with already reported data indicates that this method is very reliable as far as accuracy and reproducibility of the results are concerned. Persistent organochlorines (OC) contaminants, including polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) congeners, Dichlorophenyltrichloroethane (DDT)- and chlordane (CHL) related compounds, hexachlorocyclohexanes (HCH) isomers and chlorobenzenes (CBz) were determined in blubber of harp seals (Phoca groenlandica), ringed seals (Phoca hispida) and bearded seals (Eringnathus barbatus) as well as in fishes and invertebrates from the White Sea, in northwest Russia. Highest summation operator PCB and summation operator DDT concentrations were found in samples from two male bearded seals (means of 4150 ng/g lw and 3950 ng/g lw, respectively). Female harp seals had mean summation operator PCB and summation operator DDT concentrations of 1070+/-504 ng/g lw and 619+/-328 ng/g lw, respectively. Male and female adult ringed seals had similar mean summation operator PCB concentrations as harp seals (955+/-385 ng/g lw and 999+/-304 ng/g lw, respectively). summation operator CHL concentrations ranged from 63+/-29 ng/g lw in blubber of female adult ringed seals, to 322+/-156 ng/g lw in adult harp seals and averaged 465 ng/g lw in bearded seals. HCH isomers, mirex and chlorobenzenes were detected in all seal samples but were present at lower levels than summation operator CHL, summation operator DDT and summation operator PCB. Concentrations of summation operator CHL, summation operator DDT and summation operator PCB in ringed seals from the White Sea were within the range reported for the Barents Sea but lower than in ringed seals from the Kara Sea. Temporal trends were investigated by comparing concentrations of OCs in blubber of harp seal pups collected in 1992 with pups of the same age collected in 1998. The declines over the 6 year period ranged from approximately 33% for summation operator DDT to 60% for summation operator PCB. These declines are consistent with reports of declining concentrations summation operator DDT in seawater from the White Sea and inflowing rivers in the 1980's and early 1990s. The major OC contaminants in fishes from the White Sea were DDT-related compounds and PCBs. Navaga (Eleginus navaga) had the highest concentrations of the 5 fish species studied with mean summation operator PCB of 41+/-6 ng/g wet wt. while lowest mean concentrations were present in cod muscle (16+/-8 ng/g ww). Concentrations of hexachlorobenzene (HCB), DDT, CHL-related compounds and PCB congeners were strongly correlated with trophic level of the organisms assigned using delta(15)N values, while beta-HCH, gamma-HCH and cis-chlordane showed no relationship with trophic level. Food web magnification factors (FWMFs) for p,p'-DDE, alpha-HCH, oxychlordane and trans-nonachlor the White Sea were similar to those from marine food webs in the Barents Sea and the Canadian arctic, while FWMFs for HCB and PCBs were generally lower. Overall the results suggest that the White Sea marine food differs in terms of the availability of contaminants in comparison to studies of open ocean arctic food webs due to proximity to urban/industrial areas and greater importance of benthic food sources. 相似文献
