Indeed, in the recent years, important efforts in applying energy management processes have been focused on the building sector, which demonstrates the increasing energy intensity and energy consumption indexes. The role of the building energy management systems (BEMS) is known and significant in this respect, for the management of the daily energy operations of a typical building. Effective energy management however requires the use of tools and methodologies that support the strategic decision making process of selecting energy saving measures, which are viable and environmental friendly. The aim of this paper is the presentation of an innovative intelligent decision support model for the identification of the need for intervention and further evaluation of energy saving measures in a typical existing building, based on the systematic incorporation of BEMS data (loads, demands and user requirements). The operation of the model is supportive to the decision makers authorized with the energy-efficient performance of the building and responsible for its management (energy auditors and building administration). In addition, the corresponding computerized decision support system and the appraisal of its pilot application to a typical existing office building in Athens, Greece, are presented and discussed. 相似文献

Long Range Wide Area Network (LoRaWAN) in the Internet of Things (IoT) domain has been the subject of interest for researchers. There is an increasing demand to localize these IoT devices using LoRaWAN due to the quickly growing number of IoT devices. LoRaWAN is well suited to support localization applications in IoTs due to its low power consumption and long range. Multiple approaches have been proposed to solve the localization problem using LoRaWAN. The Expected Signal Power (ESP) based trilateration algorithm has the significant potential for localization because ESP can identify the signal’s energy below the noise floor with no additional hardware requirements and ease of implementation. This research article offers the technical evaluation of the trilateration technique, its efficiency, and its limitations for the localization using LoRa ESP in a large outdoor populated campus environment. Additionally, experimental evaluations are conducted to determine the effects of frequency hopping, outlier removal, and increasing the number of gateways on localization accuracy. Results obtained from the experiment show the importance of calculating the path loss exponent for every frequency to circumvent the high localization error because of the frequency hopping, thus improving the localization performance without the need of using only a single frequency. 相似文献

Globally, Pakistan ranks 4 in cotton production, 6 as an importer of raw cotton, and 3 in cotton consumption. Nearly 10% of GDP and 55% of the country's foreign exchange earnings depend on cotton products. Approximately 1.5 million people in Pakistan are engaged in the cotton value chain. However, several diseases such as Mildew, Leaf Spot, and Soreshine affect cotton production. Manual diagnosis is not a good solution due to several factors such as high cost and unavailability of an expert. Therefore, it is essential to develop an automated technique that can accurately detect and recognize these diseases at their early stages. In this study, a new technique is proposed using deep learning architecture with serially fused features and the best feature selection. The proposed architecture consists of the following steps: (a) a self-collected dataset of cotton diseases is prepared and labeled by an expert; (b) data augmentation is performed on the collected dataset to increase the number of images for better training at the earlier step; (c) a pre-trained deep learning model named ResNet101 is employed and trained through a transfer learning approach; (d) features are computed from the third and fourth last layers and serially combined into one matrix; (e) a genetic algorithm is applied to the combined matrix to select the best points for further recognition. For final recognition, a Cubic SVM approach was utilized and validated on a prepared dataset. On the newly prepared dataset, the highest achieved accuracy was 98.8% using Cubic SVM, which shows the perfection of the proposed framework.. 相似文献

Several tests are described which can be used for any Kalman-type filter/smoother computer program. These tests are demonstrated by a case history on a large dimensional Kalman filter/smoother program which implements a 34-state inertial navigation system dynamic error model. The execution of a large dimensional Kalman filter/smoother (KFS) on real measurement data does not represent a software test of the KFS since the right answer (the correct underlying state vector) is unknown; only ``reasonableness checks' are actually possible. Simulated test data were used to exercise the KFS program in a Monte Carlo sense and its outputs evaluated using heuristic plot comparisons as well as rigorous statistical tests. Direct tests on the accuracy of the transition matrix, discrete process noise matrix, and covariance matrix calculations have been derived and demonstrated. Methods for testing properties of the Kalman filter innovations sequence are also covered. The approach and required auxiliary software that generates the test data can be employed to perform suboptimal modeling sensitivity studies and for evaluating analysis methods that depend on KFS estimates. 相似文献

We propose a novel radio-over-fiber system to provide full-duplex services by using optical differential phase-shift keying modulation format at the central station for downstream and on-off keying remodulation of the downlink carrier at the base station (BS) for upstream. The optical carrier suppression modulation scheme is employed to simultaneously generate and up-convert 40-GHz optical millimeter wave. As the same optical carrier is used for both uplink and downlink, no additional light source is required at the BS, which greatly reduces the cost and simplifies the overall system. Simulations and experimental results show that the bidirectional 2.5-Gb/s data is successfully transmitted over 40-km single-mode fiber (SMF-28) with less than 2-dB power penalty 相似文献

The development of renewable energy in the Arab States of the Gulf has been relatively low in spite of the large geographical potential for the use of these solutions. This market has been stifled by a combination of constraints, such as the absence of relative legal and policy framework, the high initial capital costs and the lack of commercial skills and information. Even though these states have not been interested in these energy solutions for many years, something seems to have changed recently, due to their accession to the Kyoto Protocol. The government, the private sector and the general public have started realizing the inevitability of putting climate change issues on the top of the list of priorities in the process of economic and social development. Apart from this, some renewable energy investments seem to be more available and effective solutions in the region, because of specified conditions and requirements in remote and isolated areas. Optically transparent l-arginine trifluoroacetate (LATF) single crystals by doping with organic materials urea and thiourea were grown by slow solvent evaporation technique. Powder X-ray diffraction confirms improvement in the crystalline quality for urea doped crystals. Urea doping in LATF also improves the percentage of transmittance. The vibrational frequencies of the grown crystals were assigned by Fourier Transform infrared spectroscopy. The thermal analysis (TG/DTA) indicated the better thermal stability for urea doped LATF crystals. EDAX analysis was carried out to calculate the percentage of elements present in doped and pure LATF. The hardness has been remarkably improved on urea and thiourea doped LATF crystals. The second harmonic generation (SHG) analysis showed 2.5 times than standard KDP for pure LATF and 2.2, 2.07 times than KDP for urea and thiourea doped LATF. 相似文献

Cadmium Telluride (CdTe) and Cadmium Zinc Telluride (CdZnTe) based detectors have been developed for hard X-ray and γ -ray detection. These semiconducting materials have high resistivity because of the wide bandgap and also have high photon absorption efficiency because of the large atomic number (ZCd = 48, ZTe = 52). CdTe and CdZnTe substrates (7 mm × 9 mm × 0.5 mm) with different stoichiometry were taken for the fabrication of γ-ray detectors. The substrate was prepared by polishing the bulk crystals grown by the rotational Bridgman method. Crystals with maximum electrical resistivity were grown in this way. For fabrication of Schottky barrier diode structures, the Schottky contacts were made by electroless deposition for gold (Au) and thermal evaporation for Indium (In). The Au/CdTe/In and Au/CdZnTe/In Schottky barrier diodes were linked to the charge sensitive preamplifier by gold wires. Then, I-V measurement and detector efficiency like charge collection performance with energy resolutions were analyzed at room temperature by using 57Co and 137Cs gamma sources. The good energy resolutions of 57Co (122 KeV) and 137Cs (662 KeV) sources are obtained for both CdTe and CdZnTe diode detectors. 相似文献

In recent years micro electro mechanical system (MEMS) based micro resonant sensors have been given a lot of attention due to their potential as a platform for the development of many novel physical, chemical, and biological sensors. That is why this paper covers post processing of the structures fabricated through Multi-Project-Wafer using 0.35 µm MIMOS CMOS technology with particular focus on dry etching of Si and SiO2 from the front side of CMOS–MEMS chip that is optimized using aluminum coated carrier wafer and achieved results are debris free as compared to photoresist coated carrier wafer. The device is etched through from the front side to avoid parasitic capacitances and squeeze film damping by keeping minimum size of the die. The etching of SiO2 as well as deep Si etch-through using the same plasma etcher (SS110A Tegal) is successfully demonstrated in this work. Finally, after the successful post CMOS micromachining of the device, resonance frequency i.e. 8164 Hz and quality factor i.e. 51.34, is determined. The joule heating effect due to the passing of current through the central shuttle of the device is characterized. The maximum temperature close to the anchors of the comb resonator where the piezoresistors are located is determined through temperature coefficient of resistance measurement using PE-4RF type probe station and it is found to be 37.62 °C. 相似文献

The preparation of polylactic acid (PLA) and polypropylene carbonate (PPC) blend films by using the solvent casting method is to improve the properties of pure PLA. The blends' mechanical and thermal properties, morphological as well as hydrolytic degradation behavior are evaluated. The tensile test proved that the increase of PPC from 0 wt% to 75 wt% could improve the elongation of pure PLA when the graph showed a significant increase of the elongation from 10% to 1000%. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) supported the significant increase in elongation of the blends when it shows a definite phase separation in 75/25 PLA/PPC, where 25% of PPC has formed islands in the PLA matrix. Differential scanning calorimetry indicates the partial miscibility of the blends where two peaks of the glass transition temperature moved towards each other when the amount of PPC increases. Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy revealed a possible intermolecular interaction between two polymers, which affects the miscibility of the blends. Finally, the hydrolytic degradation test indicates that the degradation started from the PLA phase and the blends' degradation rate decrease as wt% of PPC increase. 相似文献
