The development of molecular-beam epitaxy (MBE) of GaAs/AlGaAs heterostructures, used for fabrication of ∼9 μm quantum cascade lasers (QCLs), is reported. The X-ray diffractometry (XRD) structural characterization, as an integral part of this process, is presented as well. Some conclusions, concerning the relationships between the used type of epitaxial technology and the necessity of special procedures of growth rate (Vgr) calibration, are reached. The influence of the structural features of the QCL active region on the electronic band structure is calculated, and consequently some predictions as to the device electrical properties are presented as well. 相似文献

Preliminary Analysis of Aluminum Matrix Compositions for Composites Reinforcement with Carbon Fibers
In the liquid phase methods of obtaining the composites, one of important conditions is contact between liquid metal and the reinforcement. In the system of aluminum and carbon fiber, proper connection between liquid and the fibers depends not only on the wetting conditions but also on the reactivity of the components. In the processes of infiltration, one of the factors conducive to such a connection is the chemical composition of the alloy matrix. The composition of the alloy also decides on technological properties such as castability and shrinkage. The paper presents the results of modification AlSi9Cu(Fe) and AlSi9Mn base alloy with addition of magnesium and strontium. The scope of researches includes analysis of the structure alloys before and after modification and results of the compared metal flow in the gravity casting to graphite mold. The mold applied in the study allows the analysis of metal flow in ducts of varying cross section. In case of modified alloy AlSi9Cu(Fe) + 1% Mg + 0.03%Sr was observed a slight decrease of fluidity. While in the case of alloy AlSi9Mn +1% Mg +0.03%Sr length of filled increased comparing to similar beams on base alloy. The aim of modifying the chemical composition of the base alloy was to improve wettability in the Al/CF system during the infiltration process. In the case of an alloy AlSi9Cu(Fe), intended for use in the high pressure die casting (HPDC) process, small change of fluidity has no significant meaning. Information about the mobility and the partitioning properties of brominated persistent organic pollutants, the environmental levels of which are sometimes higher than those of the chlorinated analogues, is limited. We estimated n-octanol/ water (log K(OW)), n-octanol/air (log K(OA)), and air/water (log K(AW)) partition coefficients for 1436 chloro- and bromo-analogues of dibenzo-p-dioxins, dibenzofurans, biphenyls, naphthalenes, diphenyl ethers, and benzenes by employing quantitative structure-property relationship (QSPR) techniques. The searches for similar partitioning patterns were performed by means of two-dimensional cluster analysis. Five classes of compounds were identified. Each of the class is characterized by similar partition coefficients and, in consequence, similar environmental properties. Finally the data was fitted into a simple multimedia model involving the partitioning map. In addition, we found thatthe changes in the partition coefficients upon the replacement of chlorine with bromine were constant: 0.11, 0.31, and -0.21 per bromine atom for log K(OW), log K(OA), and log K(AW), respectively. On the basis of this observation, a method for rapid estimation of changes in the partition coefficient upon chlorine-bromine substitution was proposed. 相似文献

The aim of the paper was to investigate the effects of the addition of whey protein isolate (WPI) and whey protein concentrate (WPC80) on physicochemical properties of high‐protein yoghurts. Changes in storage, loss moduli, phase angle values, flow behaviour and textural parameters were determined. Surface properties (roughness, contact angles) were also estimated. The properties of yoghurts depended on the preparation type and their concentration. The application of WPI resulted in accelerated gel formation in comparison with the yoghurts produced with WPC80. Liquid biopsy is a common term referring to circulating tumor cells and other biomarkers, such as circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) or extracellular vesicles. Liquid biopsy presents a range of clinical advantages, such as the low invasiveness of the blood sample collection and continuous control of the tumor progression. In addition, this approach enables the mechanisms of drug resistance to be determined in various methods of cancer treatment, including immunotherapy. However, in the case of melanoma, the application of liquid biopsy in patient stratification and therapy needs further investigation. This review attempts to collect all of the relevant and recent information about circulating melanoma cells (CMCs) related to the context of malignant melanoma and immunotherapy. Furthermore, the biology of liquid biopsy analytes, including CMCs, ctDNA, mRNA and exosomes, as well as techniques for their detection and isolation, are also described. The available data support the notion that thoughtful selection of biomarkers and technologies for their detection can contribute to the development of precision medicine by increasing the efficacy of cancer diagnostics and treatment. 相似文献

The paper deals with the influence of graphite solid additives, bisulphide of molybdenum and polytetrafluoroethylene on changes in shear stress values in lubricating greases. The research was done on lithium and bentonite greases. They were ‘pure’ greases — without any additives — and the compositions of these greases were with different amounts of thickeners. The results of the experiments showed that both the kind of grease and the kind of thickener applied have a significant influence on rheological properties, which result in different grease composites.
