The unconfined compressive strength (UCS) of rocks is an important design parameter in rock engineering and geotechnics, which is required and determined for rock mechanical studies in mining and civil projects. This parameter is usually determined through a laboratory UCS test. Since the preparation of high-quality samples is difficult, expensive and time consuming for laboratory tests, development of predictive models for determining the mechanical properties of rocks seems to be essential in rock engineering. In this study, an attempt was made to develop an artificial neural network (ANN) and multivariable regression analysis (MVRA) models in order to predict UCS of rock surrounding a roadway. For this, a database of laboratory tests was prepared, which includes rock type, Schmidt hardness, density and porosity as input parameters and UCS as output parameter. To make a database (including 93 datasets), different rock samples, ranging from weak to very strong types, are used. To compare the performance of developed models, determination coefficient (R 2), variance account for (VAF), mean absolute error (E a) and mean relative error (E r) indices between predicted and measured values were calculated. Based on this comparison, it was concluded that performance of the ANN model is considerably better than the MVRA model. Further, a sensitivity analysis shows that rock density and Schmidt hardness were recognized as the most effective parameters, whereas porosity was considered as the least effective input parameter on the ANN model output (UCS) in this study. 相似文献

A novel and modern framework for energy modeling is developed in this paper with a focus on nuclear energy modeling and simulation. The framework combines multiphysics simulations and real data, with validation by uncertainty quantification tasks and facilitation by machine and deep learning methods. The hybrid framework is built on the basis of a wide range of physical models, real data, mathematical and statistical methods, and artificial intelligence techniques. The framework is demonstrated in different applications, including quantifying uncertainties in computer simulations, multiphysics coupling, analysis of variance using machine learning surrogate models, deep learning of time series phenomena, and propagating parametric uncertainties of nuclear data. The applications demonstrated are oriented to nuclear engineering simulations, even though majority of the methods are applicable to other energy sources (eg, renewable). Efficient utilization of this framework is expected to yield a much better understanding of the physical phenomena analyzed as well as an improvement in the performance of the energy design/model under construction. 相似文献

In this article, we consider a single-machine scheduling problem with one unavailability period, with the aim of minimizing the weighted sum of the completion times. We propose three exact methods for solving such a problem: a branch-and-bound method based on new properties and lower bounds, a mixed integer programming model, and a dynamic programming method. These methods were coded and tested on randomly generated instances, and their performances were analyzed. Our numerical experiments show that the branch-and-bound method and the dynamic programming method are complementary. Using these approaches, we are able to solve problems with up to 3000 jobs within a reasonable computation time. 相似文献

Textured surface analysis is essential for many applications. In this paper, we present a three-dimensional (3D) recovery approach for real textured surfaces based on photometric stereo. The aim is to be able to reconstruct the textured surfaces in 3D with a high degree of accuracy. For this, the proposed method uses a sequence of six images and a Lambertian bidirectional reflectance distribution function (BRDF) to recover the surface height map. A hierarchical selection of these images is employed to eliminate the effects of shadows and highlights for all surface facets. To evaluate the performances of our method, we compare it to other traditional photometric stereo methods on real textured surfaces using six or more images. 相似文献

In a recent paper [Theoretical Computer Science 363, 257–265], He, Zhong and Gu considered the non-resumable case of the scheduling problem with a fixed non-availability interval under the non-resumable scenario. They proposed a polynomial time approximation scheme (PTAS) to minimize the total completion time.In this paper, we propose a fully polynomial-time approximation scheme to minimize the total weighted completion time. The FPTAS has O(n2/ε2) time complexity, where n is the number of jobs and ε is the required error bound.
