With the emergence of new scalable coding standards, such as JPEG2000, multimedia is stored as scalable coded bit streams that may be adapted to cater network, device and usage preferences in multimedia usage chains providing universal multimedia access. These adaptations include quality, resolution, frame rate and region of interest scalability and achieved by discarding least significant parts of the bit stream according to the scalability criteria. Such content adaptations may also affect the content protection data, such as watermarks, hidden in the original content. Many wavelet-based robust watermarking techniques robust to such JPEG2000 compression attacks are proposed in the literature. In this paper, we have categorized and evaluated the robustness of such wavelet-based image watermarking techniques against JPEG2000 compression, in terms of algorithmic choices, wavelet kernel selection, subband selection, or watermark selection using a new modular framework. As most of the algorithms use a different set of parametric combination, this analysis is particularly useful to understand the effect of various parameters on the robustness under a common platform and helpful to design any such new algorithm. The analysis also considers the imperceptibility performance of the watermark embedding, as robustness and imperceptibility are two main watermarking properties, complementary to each other.  相似文献

A new simpler equivalent circuit model of a quantum cascade laser based on two level rate equations is presented. The model is valid for small and large signals. A realistic current voltage model based on experimental results is included in the circuit model. Incorporation of the current voltage characteristic makes the circuit model fully compatible with parasitics and drive electronics. The model is validated by comparison of simulated results with analytica results and large signal numerical results reported earlier.  相似文献

How we interface and interact with computing, communications, and entertainment devices is going through revolutionary changes, with natural user inputs based on touch, gesture, and voice replacing or augmenting the use of traditional user interfaces based on the keyboard, mouse, trackballs, joysticks, and so forth. In particular, mobile devices have rapidly transitioned to adopt touch screen technologies as the primary means of user interface during recent years, enabling fun new interactive applications and experiences for the users. This study describes dynamic uptake of antibiotic drug diclofenac sodium from aqueous solution using polyaniline as sorbent. The sorbent polyaniline was prepared by oxidative polymerization of aniline and characterized by FTIR spectrum analysis and TGA. The optimum sorbent/sorbate mg/mL ratio and pH range for maximum drug uptake have been found to be 2.0 and 5.5 to 10.5, respectively. Out of various kinetic models applied, the pseudo second‐order kinetic equation has been found to fit well on the kinetic uptake data. The pseudo second‐order rate constants for adsorption have been found to be 0.982 × 10?2, 7.24 × 10?2, and 18.09 × 10?2 min?1 mg?1 g for drug solutions with initial concentrations of 10, 20, and 30 mg L?1, respectively. The overall sorption process has been found to be governed by intraparticle diffusion.The sorptive removal of drug from aqueous solution has also resulted in enhancement in bacterial growth of Escherichia coli. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The effect of molecular weight of polyethyleneglycol (PEG) and sodium chloride (NaCl) on the gelation temperature of methylcellulose (MC) was studied with the objective to develop a MC based formulation for sustained delivery of ophthalmic drug. The gelation temperature of 1% MC was 60 ± 0.40°C. It was found that the gelation temperature of MC was reduced with the addition of 10% PEG and extent of reduction of gelation temperature was depended on the molecular weight of PEG at same PEG concentration of 10%. The gelation temperature of MC was reduced by 10.4 to 5.9°C with the increasing molecular weight of PEG starting from 400 to 20,000 (Mn ) depending on the method of determination of gelation temperature. To reduce the gelation temperature of MC close to physiological temperature (37°C), 6% NaCl was added in the different MC‐PEG combinations containing different molecular weight of PEG. It was observed that the drug release time increased from 5 to 8 h with the increase in molecular weight of PEG from 400 to 20,000 (Mn ) and this was due to the maximum viscosity and gel strength of MC‐PEG20000‐NaCl ternary combination. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Liquid interfaces facilitate the organization of nanometer-scale biomaterials with plasmonic properties suitable for molecular diagnostics. Using hierarchical assemblage of 2D hafnium disulfide nanoplatelets and zero-dimensional spherical gold nanoparticles, the design of a multifunctional material is reported. When the target analyte is present, the nanocomposites’ self-assembling pattern changes, altering their plasmonic response. Using monkeypox virus (MPXV) as an example, the findings reveal that adding genomic DNA to the nanocomposite surface increases the agglomeration between gold nanoparticles and decreases the π-stacking distance between hafnium disulfide nanoplatelets. Further, this self-assembled nanomaterial is found to have minimal cross-reactivity toward other pathogens and a limit of detection of 7.6 pg µL−1 (i.e., 3.57 × 104 copies µL−1) toward MPXV. Overall, this study helped to gain a better understanding of the genomic organization of MPXV to chemically design and develop targeted nucleotides. The study has been validated by UV–vis spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, scanning transmission electron microscopy, surface-enhanced Raman microscopy and electromagnetic simulation studies. To the best knowledge, this is the first study in literature reporting selective molecular detection of MPXV within a few minutes and without the use of any high-end instrumental techniques like polymerase chain reactions.  相似文献

Novel carbon nanofiber (CNF) ‐filled bismalemide composites were fabricated by a thermokinetic mixing method. The thermal and mechanical properties of composites containing 1 wt % and 2 wt % CNFs were investigated. Thermogravimetric analysis demonstrated that minimal improvement in thermal stability of the nanocomposites was obtained by the addition of CNFs. Dynamic mechanical analysis showed an increase in storage modulus (E′) and glass transition temperature (Tg) upon incorporation of nanofibers. Limiting oxygen index (LOI) has also been found to increase with incorporation of CNFs. Morphological studies of fractured surfaces of the composites has been carried out by scanning electron microscopy to determine the effect of fiber content and dispersion on the failure mechanism. In general, good dispersion was observed, along with agglomeration at some points and some fiber matrix interfacial debonding. A decrease in mechanical strength has been observed and debonding was found as the main failure mechanism. Further research outlook is also presented. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
