Cu2O/ x Cu ( x =0–25 wt%) cermets were evaluated as a novel partially inert anode for aluminum (Al) production. The physical and mechanical properties, including the compressive strength, flexural strength, thermal expansion coefficient, thermal conductivity, and dc electrical conductivity were tested at room temperature and at temperatures up to 950°C. The coefficient of thermal expansion, compressive strength, flexural strength, thermal conductivity, and electrical conductivity of Cu2O/Cu cermets increased with increasing Cu content. High-temperature electrical conductivity measurements showed that with increasing temperature, the electrical conductivity increased when the Cu content was below the percolation threshold, while it decreased when the Cu content was above the percolation threshold. A relatively stable CuAlO2 layer formed on the cermet surface during electrochemical testing, and the corrosion rate of this anode was estimated to be about 1.8–1.9 cm/year in Al production.  相似文献

When water-soluble polyacrylic acid (PAA) macromolecules are introduced into zinc phosphating liquids, significant improvements in the yield of conventional zinc phosphate conversion films deposited on carbon steel surfaces are obtained. The improvements include controllability of crystal dimensions, degree of crystallinity, and coating weight. The conversion layer formed is a composite microstructure consisting of a bulk PAA polymer and complexed PAA continuously overlaying a uniform array of fine dense zinc phosphate crystals. Interfacial studies of the composite layer using infrared spectroscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectrometry associated with scanning electron microscopy, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy indicated that the functional carboxylic acid groups in the PAA molecules were strongly chemisorbed by the Zn atoms at the outermost surface sites of the crystal layers. The intermolecular bridging action of the surface Zn atoms which connect the PAA and the zinc phosphate crystal layers results in good adhesion at the PAA–crystal interfaces. In addition, the plasticized complex formation plays an essential role in increasing the stiffness and the ductility of the normally conventional crystal films. The flexibility of the complex coating surface and the thickness and surface roughness of the thin PAA overlayer all affect the adhesive force at the interface between the organic polymer topcoat and the complexed coating.  相似文献

  1. It has been confirmed that the principal products formed in the oxidation of methyl oleate by oxygen under a variety of conditions are predominantlytrans hydroperoxides. However no inversion of the double bond occurs in unoxidized oleate. Hence the conversion ofcis totrans double bonds and peroxide formation occur together in the same molecules.
  2. The autoxidation of methyl linoleate at low temperature yields predominantlycis,trans conjugated hydroperoxides. Autoxidation at 25°C., oxidation catalyzed by visible light, or ultraviolet light and copper soap catalyzed oxidation at temperatures appreciably above 0°C., lead to the formation primarily oftrans,trans conjugated hydroperoxides. The inversion of the second double bond in this case appears to be independent of the peroxide-forming reactions.
  3. The photochlorophyll oxidation of methyl linoleate leads to the formation of some unconjugated hydroperoxides, some of which containtrans double bonds.
  4. Under all of the conditions employed in the present investigation, the oxidation of methyl oleate and linoleate led primarily to the formation of monomeric peroxides which retained most of the unsaturation of the parent compound.

The influence of 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane, 3-glycidyloxypropyltrimethoxysilane, and neoalkoxytric(dioctyl pyrophosphato)zirconate on thermal expansion behavior, dielectric strength, and arc resistance of mica/epoxy composites has been investigated. The addition of mica up to 30% resulted in the reduction of thermal expansion with respect to neat resin. However, the coefficient of linear thermal expansion of 30% mica treated with aminosilane was the least among the various coupling agent-coated filler/epoxy composites. Mica (30%)/epoxy composites showed the highest dielectric strength values (26 kV/mm), but the highest arc resistance was obtained in zirconate-treated mica (30%)/epoxy composite. © 1995 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Conclusions Experiments at the Magnezit Plant confirmed the feasibility of drying magnesia refractories with the flue gas in the first positions of a tunnel kiln. Drying the refractories in the section where the flue gas is tapped off does not result in more rejects or in degradation of the properties of the fired products.Compounding the processes of drying and firing magnesia refractories in a single unit, viz., the tunnel kiln, makes it possible to dispense with the driers the freed floorspace of which can be used for installing equipment for mechanizing the loading of the products on the kiln trucks.Translated from Ogneupory, No. 4, pp. 15–21, April, 1976.  相似文献
