Vinyl acetate, methyl methacrylate, acrylonitrile and methyl vinyl ketone were investigated for co‐ and terpolymerization with ethylene and ethylene–propylene. Precursor [bis(N,N ′‐dimesitylimino)acenaphthene]dibromonickel, activated by methylaluminoxane was used as a catalyst system and trialkylaluminium was employed to block the polar groups for these polymerizations. Polymerization activities of the order of magnitude of 106 in the case of vinyl acetate and methyl methacrylate, and 105 in the case of acrylonitrile were achieved. Microanalysis and GPC of acrylonitrile copolymers found about 17 units of acrylonitrile per polymer chain. Copolymers with very different properties from the parent homopolymers were obtained in all cases except that of methyl vinyl ketone. © 2001 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

Continuous and intermittent drying experiments were performed with whole bananas, using hot air at 70°C. The intermittent drying experiments were performed with intermittency ratio equal to 1/2 and tempering times of 0.5, 1.0, and 2.0?h. The conditions imposed to the experiments permitted to investigate the influence of these tempering times on the processes. A one-dimensional numerical solution of the diffusion equation coupled with an optimizer was used to determine the process parameters for four experiments. To describe the processes, a model was proposed. Model includes shrinkage, variable effective mass diffusivity, and two values for convective mass transfer coefficient (within and outside the dryer), enabling to consider moisture loss during the tempering period. For all experiments, the simulation of the drying kinetics has resulted in good statistical indicators. Proposed model also made it possible to predict moisture distributions during the entire processes, including the migration of moisture from the central part to the peripheral region of the cross section of the bananas, during the tempering period. The results indicated that, for the same effective operation time and intermittency ratio, increasing the tempering time implied moderate decrease in the final average moisture content.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

The complete drying history of paper dried under an array of multiple round jets of air was determined. The drying rate – paper moisture content relations, determined as a continuous function by on–line measurements for about 80 sheets, permitted examination of the following parameters: basis weight 20 to 50 g/m2, which covers the tissue to communication paper range; initial moisture content 1.5 to 3 kg water/kg fibre; nozzle to paper spacing of 5, 7.6 & 8.5 nozzle diameters: nozzle plate open area ratio from 1.4 to 3.1%; jet Reynolds number in the range of 450 to 11.100.

Three methods of quantifying the complete drying rate curves were tested. Use of the common assumption of drying rate linear with moisture content over the falling rate period gave inadequate representation. Secondly, the general method of Churchill for any transport process that has a transition between two asymptotic relations was applied for the fmt time to the drymg of paper. Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of different zirconia surface treatments on the bond strength of two self-adhesive resinous cements (SARC).

Methods: Two hundred and eight cylindrical specimens were obtained from Y-TZP zirconia (half with diameter 3.2 mm and half with 4.8 mm). After sintering and polishing, specimens were divided into four groups (n = 26), according to surface treatment: Control (no treatment); Sandblasting (Al2O3 particles); Rocatec (Al2O3 particles, tribochemical silica coating and silane application); Laser (Nd: YAG laser: 20 Hz, 100 mJ, 0.2 J/cm²). The surface roughness (Ra) was evaluated after the surface treatments, and the groups were divided into two subgroups (n = 13), according to the SARC tested: RelyX U200 and Bifix SE. The 2.2-mm cylinders were bonded to 4.8-mm cylinders and stressed until failure under shear using a universal testing machine. Bond strength and Ra were analyzed using ANOVA, and Tukey’s test (α = 0.05).

Results: Surface treatment was significant (p < 0.0001), but cement type (p = 0.73) was not. Related to roughness, significant differences were found for the treatment type (p < 0.0001), with laser being the treatment with higher Ra values.

Conclusions: Nd:YAG laser produced a rougher surface and a higher bond strength compared with sandblasting, silicatization, and control groups.  相似文献

This study evaluated the effect of chlorhexidine (CLX) in cavities prepared with either ultrasound-mounted CVDentUS diamond tips or conventional diamond burs on dentin bond strength after 24 h and 180 days. Forty-eight dentin surfaces from sound third molars were flattened and divided into four groups (n = 12), according to the type of cavity preparation (CVDentUS ultrasound tip or conventional diamond) and with or without 2% CLX (Consepsis) treatment. After application of the adhesive system (Clearfil SE Bond), microhybrid composite resin blocks (Charisma) were made on the dentin surface in increments. After 24 h, the specimens were sectioned into stick-shaped samples with an adhesive interface of approximately 1 mm2. From each tooth, half of the sticks were evaluated after 24 h of storage in distilled water and the other half after 180 days, using a universal testing machine. Three-way analysis of variance showed no significant triple interactions (p = 0.722) or double interactions between factors. Higher bond strength values were observed with the use of ultrasonic tips (p = 0.019), irrespective of whether or not CLX was applied in either time period. No difference in bond strength values was observed in terms of CLX application (p = 0.581). No significant difference in bond strength values was shown after storage for 24 h or 180 days (p = 0.302). In conclusion, the ultrasonic tips promoted greater bond strength to dentin, irrespective of whether or not CLX was applied, and storage time.  相似文献

Cold-erosion tests are usually applied for refractory castable evaluation in petrochemical industries, mainly for materials used in cyclones and risers of fluidized catalytic cracking units (FCCU). Due to the fact that in the operation, the refractory material is subjected to high temperature, at first, hot-erosion tests could be more representative. Erosion wear has a great influence on the FCCU refractory working life and the lost income associated with a production halt can reach values close to US$500,000 per day. These aspects are strong enough to justify hot-erosion resistance characterization. The test viability, which could result in selecting better material for the application, was evaluated using commercial products and nano-bonded castables from 200 up to 815 °C. At this temperature range, a significant difference between the cold and hot-erosion loss was not observed. Therefore, it indicates that the cold-erosion test is suitable and sufficient for selecting refractory castables for FCCU applications. The cold-erosion test also presented a higher data correlation with the splitting tensile strength and the hot modulus of rupture. Regarding the different evaluated materials, the nano-bonded castables showed a higher erosion resistance and were less susceptible to the temperature effect than the calcium aluminate cement bonded commercial products.  相似文献

This study evaluated the effectiveness of benzodioxole derivatives as coinitiators of radical polymerization in a model‐dental adhesive resin. To compose the adhesive resin, a monomer mixture based on 50 wt % of Bis‐GMA, 25 wt % of TEGDMA, and 25 wt % of HEMA was used. Camphorquinone (CQ) 1 mol % was used as a photoinitiator to initiate polymerization. 1,3‐Benzodioxole (BDO) and piperonyl alcohol (PA) were used as coinitiators at 0.25, 0.5, 1, 2, 4, 8, and 16 mol % level. In addition, tertiary amine, ethyl 4‐dimethylamino benzoate (EDAB) was used as coinitiator in the control group. Some physical, chemical, and mechanical properties of the polymer formed in the experimental adhesives were evaluated using the kinetics of polymerization, sorption and solubility, flexural strength, and elastic modulus tests. The results indicated that BDO and PA were effective coinitiators in the photoinitiator system based on CQ. Comparisons between the benzodioxoles derivative coinitiators and EDAB showed similar performance in the kinetics of polymerization and flexural strength. For water sorption and solubility evaluation, BDO and PA demonstrated significantly more sorption of water and less solubility than the EDAB control group.
