In this paper we show that thiolated self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) can be used to anchor source–drain gold electrodes on the substrate, leading to excellent electrical performances of the organic field-effect transistor (OFET) on a par with those using a standard electrode process. Using an amorphous semiconductor and a gate dielectric functionalized with SAMs bearing different dipole moments, we demonstrate that we can tune the threshold voltage alone, while keeping nearly unchanged the other electrical properties (hole carrier mobility, Ion/Ioff ratio, subthreshold swing). This differs from previous studies for which SAMs functionalization induced significant changes in all the OFET electrical performances. This result opens doors to design organic circuits using reproducible amorphous semiconductor based OFETs for which only the threshold voltage can be tuned on demand.  相似文献

The currently emerging 802.16e (WiMAX) and 3GPP Long Term Evolution (LTE) cellular systems are based on Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA). OFDMA suffers from heavy inter-cell interference if neighboring base stations use the same frequency range. One approach to solve this issue is the application of beamforming antennas in combination with interference coordination (IFCO) mechanisms between base stations. In this paper, we trace the problem of IFCO back to the graph coloring problem and investigate the achievable resource utilization of the interference coordinated system. We develop a heuristic that allows the combination of arbitrary scheduling algorithms with the IFCO mechanism. This allows an efficient utilization of the radio system’s frequency resources while still obeying scheduling constraints, such as Quality of Service requirements. Finally, we study the tradeoff between fairness and the total system throughput.

Nowadays, a deterministic approach based on physics of failure is necessary to estimate the lifetime of integrated circuits. Therefore, the reliability analyses via electrical/aging simulations are performed during the design phase. Our previous works consisted in generating an aging behavioral model of a circuit in order to assess its degradation level and to predict its lifetime according to its mission profile. This paper presents obtained experimental results using our developed methodology to evaluate the influence of total ionizing dose effects on an n-MOS simple current mirror taking into account technological dispersions.  相似文献

The evolution of the grain structure through annealing of narrow damascene Cu interconnects is important for any further design of highly integrated circuits. Here we present a comprehensive transmission electron microscopy study of damascene lines between 80 nm and 3000 nm wide. Experimental results clearly indicate that morphology evolutions through annealing are strongly influenced by the line width. If the lines are wider than 250 nm a strong connection between the grain structure within the lines and the overburden copper is present at least after sufficient annealing. Once the lines are as small as 80 nm the grain structure within the lines are only weakly connected to the overburden copper grown above.  相似文献

EMPIRE10 (Evaluation of Methods for Pulmonary Image REgistration 2010) is a public platform for fair and meaningful comparison of registration algorithms which are applied to a database of intrapatient thoracic CT image pairs. Evaluation of nonrigid registration techniques is a nontrivial task. This is compounded by the fact that researchers typically test only on their own data, which varies widely. For this reason, reliable assessment and comparison of different registration algorithms has been virtually impossible in the past. In this work we present the results of the launch phase of EMPIRE10, which comprised the comprehensive evaluation and comparison of 20 individual algorithms from leading academic and industrial research groups. All algorithms are applied to the same set of 30 thoracic CT pairs. Algorithm settings and parameters are chosen by researchers expert in the configuration of their own method and the evaluation is independent, using the same criteria for all participants. All results are published on the EMPIRE10 website (http://empire10.isi.uu.nl). The challenge remains ongoing and open to new participants. Full results from 24 algorithms have been published at the time of writing. This paper details the organization of the challenge, the data and evaluation methods and the outcome of the initial launch with 20 algorithms. The gain in knowledge and future work are discussed.  相似文献

Magnetic materials with a non‐collinear and non‐coplanar arrangement of magnetic moments hosting a nonzero scalar spin‐chirality exhibit unique magnetic and spin‐dependent electronic transport properties. The spin chirality often occurs in materials where competing exchange interactions lead to geometrical frustrations between magnetic moments and to a strong coupling between the crystal lattice and the magnetic structure. These characteristics are particularly strong in Mn‐based antiperovskites where the interactions and chirality can be tuned by substitutional modifications of the crystalline lattice. This study presents evidence for the formation of two unequal chiral spin states in magnetically ordered Mn3.338Ni0.651N antiperovskite based on density functional theory calculations and supported by magnetization measurements after cooling in a magnetic field. The existence of two scalar spin‐chiralities of opposite sign and different magnitude is demonstrated by a vertical shift of the magnetic‐field dependent magnetization and Hall effect at low fields and from an asymmetrical magnetoresistivity when the applied magnetic field is oriented parallel or antiparallel to the direction of the cooling field. This opens up the possibility of manipulating the spin chirality for potential use in the emerging field of chiral spintronics.  相似文献

An extraordinary amount of electrophysiological data has been collected from various brain nuclei to help us understand how neural activity in one region influences another region. In this paper, we exploit the point process modeling (PPM) framework and describe a method for constructing aggregate input-output (IO) stochastic models that predict spiking activity of a population of neurons in the "output" region as a function of the spiking activity of a population of neurons in the "input" region. We first build PPMs of each output neuron as a function of all input neurons, and then cluster the output neurons using the model parameters. Output neurons that lie within the same cluster have the same functional dependence on the input neurons. We first applied our method to simulated data, and successfully uncovered the predetermined relationship between the two regions. We then applied our method to experimental data to understand the input-output relationship between motor cortical neurons and 1) somatosensory and 2) premotor cortical neurons during a behavioral task. Our aggregate IO models highlighted interesting physiological dependences including relative effects of inhibition/excitation from input neurons and extrinsic factors on output neurons.  相似文献

The extent to which nanoscale‐engineered systems cross intact human skin and can exert pharmacological effects in viable epidermis is controversial. This research seeks to develop a new lipid‐based nanosome that enables the effective delivery of siRNA into human skin. The major finding is that an ultraflexible siRNA‐containing nanosome—prepared using DOTAP, cholesterol, sodium cholate, and 30% ethanol—penetrates into the epidermis of freshly excised intact human skin and is able to enter into the keratinocytes. The nanosomes, called surfactant‐ethanol‐cholesterol‐osomes (SECosomes), show excellent size, surface charge, morphology, deformability, transfection efficiency, stability, and skin penetration capacity after complexation with siRNA. Importantly, these nanosomes have ideal characteristics for siRNA encapsulation, in that the siRNA is stable for at least 4 weeks, they enable highly efficient transfection of in vitro cultured cells, and are shown to transport siRNA delivery through intact human skin where changes in the keratinocyte cell state are demonstrated. It is concluded that increasing flexibility in nanosomes greatly enhances their ability to cross the intact human epidermal membrane and to unload their payload into targeted epidermal cells.  相似文献

Poly(styrene‐β‐isobutylene‐β‐styrene)‐poly(3‐hexylthiophene) (SIBS‐P3HT) conducting composite fibers are successfully produced using a continuous flow approach. Composite fibers are stiffer than SIBS fibers and able to withstand strains of up 975% before breaking. These composite fibers exhibit interesting reversible mechanical and electrical characteristics, which are applied to demonstrate their strain gauging capabilities. This will facilitate their potential applications in strain sensing or elastic electrodes. Here, the fabrication and characterization of highly stretchable electrically conducting SIBS‐P3HT fibers using a solvent/non‐solvent wet‐spinning technique is reported. This fabrication method combines the processability of conducting SIBS‐P3HT blends with wet‐spinning, resulting in fibers that could be easily spun up to several meters long. The resulting composite fiber materials exhibit an increased stiffness (higher Young’s modulus) but lower ductility compared to SIBS fibers. The fibers’ reversible mechanical and electrical characteristics are applied to demonstrate their strain gauging capabilities.  相似文献

LTE networks’ main challenge is to efficiently use the available spectrum, and to provide satisfying quality of service for mobile users. However, using the same bandwidth among adjacent cells leads to occurrence of Inter-cell Interference especially at the cell-edge. Basic interference mitigation approaches consider bandwidth partitioning techniques between adjacent cells, such as frequency reuse of factor m schemes, to minimize cell-edge interference. Although SINR values are improved, such techniques lead to significant reduction in the maximum achievable data rate. Several improvements have been proposed to enhance the performance of frequency reuse schemes, where restrictions are made on resource blocks usage, power allocation, or both. Nevertheless, bandwidth partitioning methods still affect the maximum achievable throughput. In this proposal, we intend to perform a comprehensive survey on Inter-Cell Interference Coordination (ICIC) techniques, and we study their performance while putting into consideration various design parameters. This study is implemented throughout intensive system level simulations under several parameters such as different network loads, radio conditions, and user distributions. Simulation results show the advantages and the limitations of each technique compared to frequency reuse-1 model. Thus, we are able to identify the most suitable ICIC technique for each network scenario.  相似文献
