Brassinosteroids (BRs) are steroidal plant hormones essential for normal plant growth and development. Mutants in the biosynthesis or perception of BRs are usually dwarf. The tomato Dwarf gene (D), which was predicted to encode a cytochrome P450 enzyme (P450) with homology to other P450s involved in BR biosynthesis, was cloned previously. Here, we show that DWARF catalyses the C-6 oxidation of 6-deoxocastasterone (6-deoxoCS) to castasterone (CS), the immediate precursor of brassinolide. To do this, we first confirmed that the D cDNA complemented the mutant light- and dark-grown phenotypes of the extreme dwarf (dx) allele of tomato. To identify a substrate for the DWARF enzyme, exogenous application of BR intermediates to dx plants was carried out. C-6 oxoBR intermediates enhanced hypocotyl elongation whereas the C-6 deoxoBR, 6-deoxoCS, had little effect. Quantitative analysis of endogenous BR levels in tomato showed mainly the presence of 6-deoxoBRs. Furthermore, dx plants were found to lack CS and had a high level of 6-deoxoCS in comparison to D plants that had CS and a lower level of 6-deoxoCS. Confirmation that DWARF catalyzed the C-6 oxidation of 6-deoxoCS to CS was obtained by functional expression of DWARF in yeast. In these experiments, the intermediate 6alpha-hydroxycastasterone was identified, indicating that DWARF catalyzes two steps in BR biosynthesis. These data show that DWARF is involved in the C-6 oxidation in BR biosynthesis.  相似文献

This paper describes a low‐cost version of a full‐duplex optical fibre analogue/digital data transmission link whose practical implementation is simplified by using a pair of laser diodes, each having a built‐in photodiode for monitoring the laser output power, and its application to vibration test data transmission. The transmission link sends digital data of up to 9600 bps in one direction, and analogue data of DC to 100 kHz and image data specified by an NTSC colour video signal in the opposite direction, all at the same time through one GI optical fibre. Temperature-dependent emission current–voltage measurements were carried out for nitrogen (N)-doped nanocrystalline diamond (NCD) films grown on n-type Si substrates by microwave plasma-assisted chemical vapor deposition (MP-CVD). Low threshold temperature (~ 260 °C) and low threshold electric field (~ 5 × 10− 5 V/µm) were observed. Both the temperature dependence and the electric field dependence have shown that the obtained emission current was based on electron thermionic emission from N-doped NCD films. We have also studied the relation between nitrogen concentration and the saturation emission current. The saturation current obtained was as high as 1.4 mA at 5.6 × 10− 3 V/µm at 670 °C when the nitrogen concentration was 2.4 × 1020 cm− 3. Low value of effective work function (1.99 eV) and relatively high value of Richardson constant (~ 70) were estimated by well fitting to Richardson–Dushman equation. The results of smaller φ and larger A′ suggest that N-doped NCD has great possibility of being a highly efficient thermionic emitter material.  相似文献

By an immunomagnetic-bead (IMB) separation technique, isolation of Helicobacter pylori from gastrointestinal and fecal samples of gnotobiotic mice infected with the microorganism was tried. The isolation rate of H. pylori from stomach samples after IMB separation was not higher than that of direct culture of the samples. After IMB separation of feces, H. pylori was detectable by PCR, although H. pylori was not culturable.  相似文献

We present results of the enhancement mode, n-channel 3C-silicon carbide (SiC) MOSFETs fabricated on homoepitaxy 3C-SiC films. The fabricated devices exhibit excellent gate-controlled linear and saturation regimes of operation. The average effective channel mobility is found to be 229 cm/sup 2//Vs. The breakdown field of the gate oxide is observed at be 11 MV/cm and the subthreshold swing is determined to be 280 mV/decade.  相似文献

To investigate the relationship between postprandial electrogastrographic changes and parasympathetic nervous activity, 10 healthy adult males (20 to 29 years old) volunteered for EGG recording in the following conditions: 1) butylscopolamine bromide (scopolamine) administration to block parasympathetic nervous activity; 2) after food intake; and 3) during a postprandial period after the parasympathetic blockade. Power spectral analysis of EGG was performed according to Akaike's autoregressive model. When the parasympathetic nervous activity was blocked, there were no changes in the dominant frequency of the EGG. During the postprandial period, the dominant frequency in EGG increased significantly, and postprandial dip (transient frequency decrease after the food intake) was observed in 8 of the 10 subjects. During the postprandial period after scopolamine administration, the dominant frequency of EGG did not increase, and postprandial dip was observed in only two subjects. These results suggest that the parasympathetic nervous activity is involved in occurrence of postprandial gastric motor function and postprandial electrogastrographic changes.  相似文献

An attempt was made to carry out the following photochemical reaction, 2Fe2+ + I?3 + light → 2Fe3? + 3I? in concentrated phosphoric acid in order to obtain hydrogen iodide as a gaseous product. By means of the above photochemical, and two other consecutive chemical reactions, water is decomposed into hydrogen and oxygen. Compared to the water-splitting system with dilute sulfuric acid, this system has an advantage of easy separation of hydrogen iodide from the reaction mixture. Experiments are made with various conditions of phosphoric acid, temperature, light intensity and concentrations of iodine.  相似文献

COVID-19 is a recently emerged viral infection worldwide. SARS-CoV-2, the causative virus, is believed to have emerged from bat coronaviruses, probably through host conversion. The bat coronavirus which has the highest gene homology to SARS-CoV-2 specifically infects deep forest bats in China whose habitat extends through the Middle East to Southern Europe. Host conversion might have occurred due to the deforestation by humans exposing wild bats to the environment they had never encountered before. SARS-CoV-2 infects cells through two mechanisms: through its receptor ACE2 with the help of enzyme TMPRSS and through membrane fusion with the help of elastases in the inflammatory condition. Obesity, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and pulmonary diseases cause poor prognosis of COVID-19. Aging is another factor promoting poor prognosis. These diseases and aging cause low-level and persistent inflammation in humans, which can promote poor prognosis of COVID-19. Psoriasis and atopic dermatitis are the major inflammatory skin diseases. These inflammatory skin conditions, however, do not seem to cause poor prognosis for COVID-19 based on the epidemiological data accumulated so far. These mechanisms need to be elucidated.  相似文献
