One of the most important materials for blown film is high‐density polyethylene (HDPE) with wide molecular weight distribution. First, we computed a wall stress at the entrance of a spiral groove in a particular die during blown film processing on a particular condition, to which a similar condition is widely utilized in a film works. The computed value is about 170 kPa, while the HDPE melt slips at die wall at stresses above approximately 50 kPa. The stress of 170 kPa is sufficiently large for the slip occurrence of the melt. Then, we investigated the effects of wall slip and melt visosity on film thickness distribution in the circumferential direction; the distribution tends to decrease with decreasing wall slip and melt viscosity. This tendency is explained by considering flow distribution in a spiral mandrel die and polymer melt flow characteristics. 相似文献

We propose an interferometer‐type multistate optical switch and an interferometer‐type digital performance switch using a fiber Bragg grating (FBG) and the phase reversal effect. The effect is a reversing phenomenon of optical phase difference between the reflected and transmitted light from an FBG on a reflectivity spectrum dip between the main reflection band and first sideband. By combining this effect and reflectivity change, the multistate switch including only a single FBG can perform as a four‐state switch. We investigated the propagation properties of Lamb waves in a GIS tank, using time–frequency analysis to diagnose the insulation performance of GIS. We measured the acoustic signals excited by metallic particles colliding with the tank sheath, and those emitted by partial discharge in the GIS. The wavelet transform was used to decompose the wave data into its time–frequency components. As a result, it was confirmed that Lamb waves with the dispersive property of the velocity are excited and propagate in a spiral path along the tank wall due to the cylindrical structure of the tank. Taking these results into consideration, we propose a new technique for identification of defect locations in GIS based on time–frequency analysis of acoustic signals with the wavelet transform. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. TiO2, CdS and ZnS nanoparticles that disperse stably in organic solvents are synthesized. Poly(N-vinylcarbazole) films doped with
the n-type semiconductor nanoparticles are prepared with a cast method. The films exhibit a transient photocurrent when irradiated
by a light pulse and act such as a diode when AC voltage is applied under continuous illumination. The transient photocurrent
response and diode-like properties are significantly different depending on the kind of the nanoparticles and their amounts.
The films doped with TiO2 and CdS nanoparticles increase the transient photocurrent at lower doped amounts, which is remarkable for TiO2-doped films. Time of flight analysis of the transient photocurrent shows that mobility of hole in PVK increases with increase
in the amount of CdS and TiO2. From the studies on the diode-like properties, the current increase at lower dopant concentration is concluded to be due
to increase in the amount of holes by an electron transfer from PVK to the photo-excited nanoparticles. At higher doping with
CdS nanoparticles, main charge carrier of the films is found to change from holes to electrons. 相似文献

Seismic electromagnetic (EM) phenomena have been observed at many laboratories with specially designed systems. Recently we can utilize radio receivers, personal computers, and communication systems with higher performances and reasonable cost. It is possible to observe seismic EM phenomena not only by specially designed systems but also by a simple observation system integrated by these devices and systems. We have created an observation system for seismic EM phenomena with them in the very high frequency (VHF) band, from 76 MHz to 90 MHz, assigned for FM broadcasting exclusive use in Japan. We are surrounded by many EM waves, such as broadcasting, communication usage, and man‐made noises. Thus, we have newly developed the dual frequency observation method. In this paper, we describe an observation method that can identify whether a received signal is a broadband EM wave or an artificial FM radio wave. Next, the observation results for broadband EM waves from galactic noise and solar flares are presented. Then, the observation results for FM radio waves reflected from sporadic E layer and the Leonid meteors are shown. A new configuration for the sample cell to be used in broadband dielectric spectroscopy is presented. A coaxial structure with a parallel plate capacitor (outward parallel plate cell: OPPC) has made it possible to extend the frequency range significantly in comparison with the frequency range of the conventional configuration. In the proposed configuration, stray inductance is significantly decreased; consequently, the upper bound of the frequency range is improved by two orders of magnitude from the upper limit of conventional parallel plate capacitor (1 MHz). Furthermore, the value of capacitance is kept high by using a parallel plate configuration. Therefore, the precision of the capacitance measurement in the lower frequency range remains sufficiently high. Finally, OPPC can cover a wide frequency range (100 Hz-1 GHz) with an appropriate admittance measuring apparatus such as an impedance or network analyzer. The OPPC and the conventional dielectric cell are compared by examining the frequency dependence of the complex permittivity for several polar liquids and polymeric films. 相似文献
