Aluminum nitride ceramics were prepared by sintering with 0–4.8 mass% of Ca3Al2O6 (C3A) as a sintering additive. The transmittance in the range of 260–550 nm increased with increasing amount of C3A. The cathodoluminescence intensity attributed to oxygen-induced defects decreased with increasing amount of C3A. From the results, the increase of the transmittance in the range of 260–550 nm was considered to be related to the decrease of the oxygen-induced defect density. 相似文献

Titanium Dioxide, TiO2, is a photocatalyst with a unique characteristic. A surface coated with TiO2 exhibits an extremely high affinity for water when exposed to UV light and the contact angle decreases nearly to zero. Inversely, the contact angle increases when the surface is shielded from UV. This superhydrophilic nature gives a self-cleaning effect to the coated surface and has already been applied to some construction materials, car coatings and so on. We applied this property to the enhancement of boiling heat transfer. An experiment involving the pool boiling of pure water has been performed to make clear the effect of high wettability on heat transfer characteristics. The heat transfer surface is a vertical copper cylinder of 17 mm in diameter and the measurement has been done at saturated temperature and in a steady state. Both TiO2-coated and non-coated surfaces were used for comparison. In the case of the TiO2-coated surface, it is exposed to UV light for a few hours before experiment and it is found that the maximum heat flux (CHF) is about two times larger than that of the uncoated surface. The temperature at minimum heat flux (MHF) for the superhydrophilic surface is higher by 100 K than that for the normal one. The superhydrophilic surface can be an ideal heat transfer surface. This paper presents a method of predicting the steady‐state performance of a new hybrid‐excitation synchronous machine (HESM) theoretically. The field pole of this HESM is axially divided into two parts; one is an excitation part and the other a permanent‐magnet (PM) part. A nonlinear equivalent circuit, which can include the saliency of the rotor and the magnetic saturation due to the iron core, is derived. We investigated the effect of bioflavonoid quercetin on tyrosine phosphorylation and phospholipase D (PLD, EC 3.1.4.4) activation in rabbit peritoneal neutrophils stimulated by N-formylmethionyl-leucyl-phenylalanine (fMLP). The quercetin dose-dependently inhibited degranulation and superoxide production in fMLP-stimulated neutrophils. A strong inhibitory effect of quercetin on the tyrosine phosphorylation of several proteins (40, 42, 43, 45, 46 and 75 kDa) was observed when the neutrophils were pretreated with different concentrations of quercetin. Furthermore, quercetin inhibited mitogen activated protein kinase (MAP kinase) and PLD activation induced by fMLP in a dose-dependent manner. The reduction in PLD activity was 30% at 0.1 microM and 70% at 100 microM of quercetin. These results suggest that impairment of neutrophil functions by quercetin may be due, at least in part, to inhibition of tyrosine phosphorylation and PLD activation. 相似文献

The effects of reducing solvents on the bonding process using silver oxide paste in a copper joint were investigated. Three solvent types were tested: diethylene glycol (DEG), triethylene glycol (TEG), and polyethylene glycol (PEG). The strength of the joints was assessed by fracturing, which occurred at the interface of the copper oxide layer and the copper substrate in DEG and TEG samples and at the bonded interface in the PEG sample. Analysis of the samples revealed that, in the DEG and TEG samples, the copper substrate was oxidized during the bonding process, which compromised the shear strength of the joints. In contrast, the PEG sample exhibited nonuniform sintering of the silver layer while retaining good shear strength. It was found that the combination of DEG and PEG produced optimum shear strength in the copper joint, as PEG suppressed the growth of copper oxide and DEG promoted the formation of a dense sintered silver layer. The bonding strength achieved was higher than that of the gold-to-gold joint made using standard Pb-5Sn solder. 相似文献

A real-time system large-scale-integrated circuit (LSI) for digital video cassette recorder (DVCR) encoding/decoding and MPEG-2 decoding is implemented on a dual-issue RISC processor (DRISC) with dedicated hardware optimized for video-block processing. The DRISC achieves 972-MOPS software performance and can execute fixed-length data processing at the block level as well as processing at the macro-block level and above for the DVCR/MPEG-2. The dedicated hardware for variable-length coding/decoding can encode and decode codes for both the DVCR and the MPEG-2 by changing translation tables. Mg3Sb2-based intermetallic compounds with exceptionally high thermoelectric performance exhibit unconventional n-type dopability and anomalously low thermal conductivity, attracting much attention to the underlying mechanisms. To date, investigations have been limited to first-principle calculations and thermodynamic analysis of defect formation, and detailed experimental analysis on crystal structure and phonon modes has not been achieved. Here, a synchrotron X-ray diffraction study clarifies that, against a previous view of a simple crystal structure with a small unit cell, Mg3Sb2 is inherently a heavily disordered material with Frenkel defects, charge-neutral defect complexes of cation vacancies and interstitials. Ionic charge neutrality preserved in Mg3Sb2 is responsible for exotic n-type dopability, which is unachievable for other Zintl phase materials. The thermal conductivity of Mg3Sb2 exhibits deviation from the standard T−1 temperature dependency with strongly limited phonon transport due to a strain field. Inelastic X-ray scattering measurement reveals enhanced phonon scattering induced by disorder. The results will draw renewed attention to crystal defects and disorder as means to explore new high-performance thermoelectric materials. 相似文献

A scalable single-chip 422P@ML MPEG-2 video, audio, and system encoder LSI for portable 422P@HL system is described. The encoder LSI is implemented using 0.13-μm embedded DRAM technology. It integrates 3-M logic gates and 64-Mb DRAM in an area of 99-mm2. The power consumption is suppressed to 0.7 W by adopting a low-power DRAM core. It performs real-time 422P@ML video encoding, audio encoding, and system encoding with no external DRAM. Furthermore, the encoder LSI realizes a 422P@HL video encoder with multichip configuration, due to its scalable architecture. Effects of Bi doping in PbTe liquid-phase epitaxial layers grown by the temperature difference method under controlled vapor
pressure (TDM-CVP) are investigated. For Bi concentrations in the solution, xBi, lower than 0.2 at.%, an excess deep-donor level (activation energy Ed≈0.03–0.04 eV) appears, and Hall mobility is low. In contrast, for xBi>0.2 at.%, Hall mobility becomes very high, while carrier concentration is in the range of 1017 cm−3. Inductive coupled plasma (ICP) emission analysis shows that, for xBi=1 at.%, Bi concentration in the epitaxial layer is as high as NBi=2.3–2.7 × 1019 cm−3. These results indicate that Bi behaves not only as a donor but also as an acceptor, and the nearest neighbor or very near
