Formation process of ultrafine grained ferrite through a simple thermomechanical route composed of cold-rolling and annealing of dual-phase starting microstructures was investigated. A 0·1%C steel having a ferrite–martensite dual-phase microstructure was cold-rolled by 91% and subsequently annealed below the eutectoid (A1) temperature. During the annealing, the cold-rolled microstructure gradually changed to be equiaxed ultrafine ferrite, without preferential growth of particular ferrite grains. Hardness of the cold-rolled specimen continuously decreased without a significant drop. The main components of texture in the cold-rolled specimen, α-fibre and γ-fibre, did not change greatly after the formation of ultrafine grains. It was suggested that finely subdivided region having large misorientations in the cold-rolled state grew with recovery to form the ultrafine ferrite.  相似文献

Although the color measurement of facial skin becomes more common in dermatology and cosmetics, little is known about the relationship between subjective color perception and colorimetric values in facial skin. In this study, the possible relationships among perceived whiteness and the metric lightness, chroma and hue angle of Japanese females' facial skin color were investigated. First, the perceived brightness of the facial skin of Japanese females was evaluated visually and compared with metric lightness, chroma and hue angle, and the effect of hue and chroma on the perceived brightness was discussed. Second, a psychophysical experiment on the whiteness of the facial images and synthesized skin color plate images was conducted for examining the effect of hue and chroma on the perceived whiteness more precisely and independently. The results of two experiments showed that in regard to the facial skin color of the Japanese female, metric lightness disagrees with perceived whiteness or brightness in a narrow lightness range. The reddish facial skin color appeared brighter or whiter than that of a yellowish one in high lightness regions, and the low‐chroma facial skin color appeared brighter or whiter than a high‐chroma one. However, in the color plate images, a change in perceived whiteness by hue could not be confirmed, and the change in perceived whiteness by chroma was weaker than that from facial images. These results indicated that a higher‐level process of face recognition affected whiteness perception, and the criterion of facial skin whiteness was determined by facial skin color distribution. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The structure formation and crystallization kinetics in crystallization from a disordered melt were investigated for a polyethylene-polyisoprene block copolymer (LEI) having Mn = 3.2 × 104 and 53 wt% of polyethylene content and for its blends with the corresponding homopolymers, polyethylene (PE) and polyisoprene (PIp), using synchrotron small-angle X-ray scattering techniques (SAXS) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). For LEI copolymer and the blends, no microphase separation structure was observed in the molten state. In the crystalline state of the neat LEI, the first and higher order scattering peaks were clearly observed, in which the intensity of the higher order peaks was considerably strong. This unusual behavior of the higher order peaks was explained by the lamellar insertion model of Hama and Tashiro. From the analyses based on this model and one-dimensional electron density correlation function with a three phase model, the phase structure in the crystalline state of the neat LEI was concluded to be a regular lamellar structure consisting of crystalline lamella of PE block and amorphous layers of PE and PIp blocks. This phase structure was quite different from that reported previously for a polyethylene-polyisoprene block copolymer (HEI) with a higher molecular weight in which HEI crystallized with keeping the microphase separation structure in the melt. For the blends of LEI with PIp homopolymer, the phase structure is affected by the blend composition, while for the blends with PE homopolymer, the phase structure depended on the crystallization temperature as well as the molecular weight and composition of the added PE. The Avrami index was 2-3 for neat LEI, all blends and PE homopolymers.  相似文献

In this study, we report the growth of ZnO nanowire on quartz glass substrates with Au-catalyst assistance by electric current heating of ZnO ceramic bar. The effect of substrate temperature on the properties of ZnO nanostructures has been investigated systematically. Structural analysis indicates that the grown ZnO crystals belong to hexagonal phase with preferential growth along (0 0 2) orientation. Scanning electron microscopic studies reveal the aligned ZnO nanowires were grown at 800 °C. The typical length and diameter of nanowires are in the uniform ranges of 4–20 μm and 20–100 nm, respectively, showing their high aspect ratio of about 1000. We have made an attempt to discuss about the change in ZnO nanostructures with different substrate temperatures and the possible mechanism for the growth of nanowires. Optical reflectance studies show the infrared reflectivity was controlled through the substrate temperature.  相似文献

Although a loss-of-function mutation has been identified in familial Parkinson’s disease PARK7, the wild-type of DJ-1 is known to act as an oxidative stress sensor in neuronal cells. Recently, we identified UCP0045037 as a compound that bound to the reduced form of DJ-1 by in silico virtual screening. In this study, we determined the neuroprotective effects of UCP0045037 against focal cerebral ischemia-induced neurodegeneration in rats. Hydrogen peroxide-induced cell death was significantly inhibited by UCP0045037 in both rat mesencephalic dopaminergic neurons and human normal SH-SY5Y cells. In contrast, DJ-1-knockdown SH-SY5Y cells lost the protective activity of UCP0045037. These results suggest that UCP0045037 interacts with endogenous DJ-1 and produces a neuroprotective response.  相似文献

Life cycle engineering (LCE) is a key concept for promoting environmentally sustainable practices among manufacturing firms. A major hurdle in the implementation of LCE is the lack of a systematic and strategic method to design or plan an entire product life cycle. To address this issue, this keynote provides a framework for life cycle development and proposes the concept of life cycle planning. This paper aims to provide explicit and systematic methodologies for life cycle planning by reviewing this research area. Practical cases that employ life cycle planning are also illustrated. The present study investigates experimentally the effects of thermal properties of the hot surface and droplet characteristics on the droplet evaporation. Cylindrical blocks made of Stainless Steel, Aluminum and Brass with different degrees of surface roughness were used. The droplet diameter and velocity were controlled independently. The behavior of droplet during the collision with hot surface was observed with a high-speed camera. The results presented the effect of the thermal properties of the hot surface, droplet Weber number, droplet velocity, droplet size, hot surface conditions; surface superheat and degree of surface roughness on the solid–liquid contact time and the maximum spread of droplet over the surface. Empirical correlations have been deduced describing the relationship between the hydrodynamic characteristics of an individual droplet impinging on a heated surface and concealing the affecting parameters in such process. Also, the comparison between the current results and the results due to others investigators shows good agreement in which the difference between them ranged from 5% to 25%.  相似文献

As a result of an analysis, the characteristic of these systems does not necessarily coincide with that of dc motor systems, especially with light loads. A signal current from a cylindrical ionisation chamber with an ionisation volume of 62.7 cm3, 40 mm in diameter and 50 mm long, peaked when the chamber was lixed at 0 degrees and at 90 degrees in 137Cs and 60Co gamma ray fields for source-chamber distances of 1 m and 2 m. A smaller ionisation chamber showed a small peak at 0 degrees in both fields but not at 90 degrees. However, calculations indicated that the signal current from the smaller chamber would also show a peak at 90 degrees in a 137Cs point-source gamma ray field. Peaks occur because gamma rays attenuate along the cylindrical side wall or along the end walls when a chamber is tilted slightly from 0 degrees or 90 degrees and the direction of the gamma ray beam agrees with the plane of one of these walls. These facts suggest the need for care in the common practice of measuring and calculating responses for cylindrical ionisation chambers fixed perpendicular to gamma ray beams.  相似文献

The joint torque which sets human limbs into motion is generated by a separate group of muscles provided for each joint. As the activation of each muscle is determined by a neural input, a neuromuscular system controlling all muscles has to be considered in order to understand human movements. In this study, an optimal control model of a neuromuscular system is investigated, and its control characteristics are examined. First, the dynamic and mechanical properties of a muscle are examined, and a neuromuscular system is formulated mathematically. Second, a performance criterion for the optimal control model is defined in order to characterize the dynamic behavior of the neuromuscular system, and a mathematical procedure for producing optimal trajectories is represented. Third, optimal trajectories in human arm movements are produced under various conditions of movement, and these trajectories are compared with experimentally observed ones. It is then verified that the optimal trajectories demonstrate human arm movements well. Finally, the behavior of individual muscles in various movements is examined quantitatively by means of simulation results, and the control characteristics of the human neuromuscular system are investigated.
