Mycotoxin binders are feed additives which are mixed in the feed to adsorb mycotoxins and thereby reducing their toxic effects on animals. Interactions with orally administered veterinary medicinal products, such as antimicrobials or coccidiostats, have been reported previously. This paper describes an in vitro model to screen the interaction between mycotoxin binders and veterinary drugs with respect to the non-specific binding of drugs. It is designed as a static setup using a single concentration of drug and binder in a feed-containing or a feed-plus-mycotoxin-containing matrix, buffered at different pH values. The model was applied to two frequently used antimicrobials in veterinary medicine, doxycycline (DOX) and tylosin (TYL), one major mycotoxin, aflatoxin B1 (AFB1), and four mycotoxin binders. Proportions of feed, DOX or TYL, AFB1, and binder are equivalent to the in vivo situation for broiler chickens, while pH and volume of the buffer are representative of the gastrointestinal tract of chickens. A substantial binding of DOX (~ 88%) and TYL (~ 66%) to the feed-matrix was observed. For the mycotoxin binders, similar results were obtained for DOX and TYL; more specifically up to an inclusion rate of 20 g binder/kg feed, no significant binding was demonstrated, determined as the free concentration of DOX and TYL. A single exception was noticed for TYL and one specific bentonite-based mycotoxin binder, for which no significant interaction could be demonstrated up to 10 g binder/kg but there was an effect at 20 g/kg. In all cases, there was no competition between the tested drugs DOX or TYL and the mycotoxin AFB1 for binding to the bentonite-based mycotoxin binder.  相似文献

Poly(p-phenyleneterephthalamide) (PPTA) reinforced molecular composites that utilize a thermosetting epoxy as the matrix polymer have been prepared by an in situ polymerization process. The properties of these molecular composites were compared with those of Kevlar pulp-filled composites that utilized the same matrix formulation. Study of the curing reactions of these systems using Fourier transform infrared, dynamic mechanical analysis, and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy indicated some differences in the reactivity and ultimate polymer structure of these two systems. A comparison of the properties indicated increased tensile strength, modulus, and heat resistance for the molecularly reinforced material over the conventional fiber-filled system. Examination of the morphology of the molecular composite system showed that aggregated PPTA molecules are formed during the in situ polymerization process. This aggregation phenomenon was found to be due to formation of a liquid crystalline polymer solution during processing and final cure. These findings indicate the possibilities that exist in molecular composite processing for simultaneous control of the properties of the matrix and the reinforcement.  相似文献

The phase stability of nickel-base superalloys has been investigated using a new in-house-designed alloy series with stepwise increased additions of Re and Ru at otherwise fixed atomic fractions of alloying elements. Results presented in this study are focused on the lesser-known topologically closed packed (TCP) formation of columnar colonies or so-called discontinuous precipitation. A detailed investigation of these colonies allowed for identifying compositional changes during the growth process and for providing a three-dimensional (3-D) illustration of the TCP phases within these colonies. The results were used to compare the colony growth process with existing growth models. Furthermore, the influence of Re and Ru on the appearance of discontinuous precipitation has been investigated by means of colony width and the effect on creep properties. Larson-Miller plots are given to illustrate the creep strength of directionally solidified samples with and without TCP colonies compared with single crystalline samples free from TCP colonies.  相似文献

Important environmental parameters in arctic periglacial landscapes (i.e. permafrost temperature, active-layer depth, soil moisture, precipitation, vegetation cover) will very likely change in a warming climate. The thawing of permafrost, especially, might cause massive landscape changes due to thermokarst and an enhanced release of greenhouse gasses from the large amounts of carbon stored in frozen deposits, resulting in positive climate-warming feedback. For the identification, mapping, and quantification of such changes on various scales up to the entire circum-Arctic, remote sensing and spatial data analysis are essential tools. In this study an extensive field-work dataset including spectral surface properties, vegetation, soils, and geomorphology was acquired in the largest Arctic delta formed by a single river, the Siberian Lena River Delta. A portable field spectrometer (ASD FieldSpec Pro FR®) was used for spectral surveys of terrain surfaces, and optical satellite data (Landsat Enhanced Thematic Mapper (ETM+), CHRIS-Proba) were used for the characterization, manual mapping, and automatic classification of typical periglacial land-cover units in the Lena Delta. Qualitative data from soils, vegetation, soil moisture, and relief units were correlated with the field-spectral data and catalogued for a wide variety of surface types. The wide range of micro- and meso-scale variations of periglacial surface features in the delta results in distinctive spectral characteristics for different land-cover units. The three main delta terraces could also be spectrally separated and characterized. The present dataset provides a basis for further spectral data acquisitions in the Lena Delta and for comparisons with periglacial surfaces from other regions.  相似文献

The effects of surface elasticity and surface tension on the transverse overall behavior of unidirectional nano-scale fiber-reinforced composites are studied. The interfaces between the nano-fibers and the matrix are regarded as material surfaces described by the Gurtin and Murdoch model. The analysis is based on the equivalent inhomogeneity technique. In this technique, the effective elastic properties of the material are deduced from the analysis of a small cluster of fibers embedded into an infinite plane. All interactions between the inhomogeneities in the cluster are precisely accounted for. The results related to the effects of surface elasticity are compared with those provided by the modified generalized self-consistent method, which only indirectly accounts for the interactions between the inhomogeneities. New results related to the effects of surface tension are presented. Although the approach employed is applicable to all transversely isotropic composites, in this paper we consider only a hexagonal arrangement of circular cylindrical fibers.  相似文献

A new potassium tetraamidoboranealuminate, K[Al(NH2BH3)4], has been synthesized by a mechanochemical reaction between KAlH4 and NH3BH3. The compound, K[Al(NH2BH3)4], crystallizes in a triclinic unit cell with space group symmetry P?1. The crystal structure consists of [K(NH2BH3)6]5? octahedra which facilitate the bridging between K+ in 1D chains, while also bridging K+ to Al3+ to connect the 1D chains in a 3D network. Thermal analysis reveals that K[Al(NH2BH3)4] decomposes in two exothermic steps at T ~ 94 and 138 °C and releases primarily hydrogen. The total gas release amounts to ~6.0 wt% H2. The decomposition products are investigated ex situ by powder X-ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy, and 11B and 27Al NMR and identified as KBH4 and amorphous phases, possibly BN3, N2BH, and/or NBH2 whereas aluminum is found in four-, five-, and six-fold coordination. Unfortunately, the decomposed sample shows no hydrogen absorption at T = 260 °C and p(H2) = 110 bar.  相似文献

Energy-efficient new cooking techniques have been developed in this research. Using a stove with 649?±?20 W of power, the minimum heat, specific heat of transformation, and on-stove time required to completely cook 1 kg of dry beans (with water and other ingredients) and 1 kg of raw potato are found to be: 710 (±24)?kJ, 613 (±20)?kJ, and 1,144?±?10 s, respectively, for beans and 287?±?12 kJ, 200?±?9 kJ, and 466?±?10 s for Irish potato. Extensive researches show that these figures are, to date, the lowest amount of heat ever used to cook beans and potato and less than half the energy used in conventional cooking with a pressure cooker. The efficiency of the stove was estimated to be 52.5?±?2 %. Discussion is made to further improve the efficiency in cooking with normal stove and solar cooker and to save food nutrients further. Our method of cooking when applied globally is expected to contribute to the clean development management (CDM) potential. The approximate values of the minimum and maximum CDM potentials are estimated to be 7.5?×?1011 and 2.2?×?1013?kg of carbon credit annually. The nitrile imine‐mediated tetrazole‐ene cycloaddition reaction (NITEC) is introduced as a powerful and versatile conjugation tool to covalently ligate macromolecules onto variable (bio)surfaces. The NITEC approach is initiated by UV irradiation and proceeds rapidly at ambient temperature yielding a highly fluorescent linkage. Initially, the formation of block copolymers by the NITEC methodology is studied to evidence its efficacy as a macromolecular conjugation tool. The grafting of polymers onto inorganic (silicon) and bioorganic (cellulose) surfaces is subsequently carried out employing the optimized reaction conditions obtained from the macromolecular ligation experiments and evidenced by surface characterization techniques, including X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy and FT‐IR microscopy. In addition, the patterned immobilization of variable polymer chains onto profluorescent cellulose is achieved through a simple masking process during the irradiation.  相似文献
