The basis of an efficient functioning of a power grid is an accurate balancing of the electricity demand of all the consumers at any instant with supply. Nowadays, this task involves only the grid operator and retail electricity providers. One of the facets of the Smart Grid vision is that consumers may have a more active role in the problem of balancing demand with supply. With the deployment of intelligent information and communication technologies in domestic environments, homes are becoming smarter and able to play a more active role in the management of energy. We use the term Smart Consumer Load Balancing to refer to algorithms that are run by energy management systems of homes in order to optimise the electricity consumption, to minimise costs and/or meet supply constraints. In this work, we analyse different approaches to Smart Consumer Load Balancing based on (distributed) artificial intelligence. We also put forward a new model of Smart Consumer Load Balancing, where consumers actively participate in the balancing of demand with supply by forming groups that agree on a joint demand profile to be contracted in the market with the mediation of an aggregator. We specify the business model as well as the optimisation model for load balancing, showing the economic benefits for the consumers in a realistic scenario based on the Spanish electricity market. 相似文献

The creation of links between schemas of published datasets is a key part of the Linked Open Data (LOD) paradigm. The ability to discover these links “on the go” requires that ontology matching techniques achieve good precision and recall within acceptable execution times. In this paper, we add similarity-based and mediator-based ontology matching methods to the Agreementmaker ontology matching system, which aim to efficiently discover high precision subclass mappings between LOD ontologies. Similarity-based matching methods discover subclass mappings by extrapolating them from a set of high quality equivalence mappings and from the interpretation of compound concept names. Mediator-based matching methods discover subclass mappings by comparing polysemic lexical annotations of ontology concepts and by considering external web ontologies. Experiments show that when compared with a leading LOD approach, Agreementmaker achieves considerably higher precision and F-measure, at the cost of a slight decrease in recall. 相似文献

Hazelnuts have been shown to contain different allergenic proteins. Amongst these, major allergens Cor a 1 and Cor a 8 and the 2S albumin Cor a 14 were selected as targets to comparatively validate three Real-Time PCR protocols. We investigated both on the choice of the amplification target, and on the matrix effect on different sample foods. Applying statistics on the validation parameters obtained from the three protocols, we showed a significant difference in Ct values. This could turn critical when a high sensitivity method is required for the detection of hazelnut traces, confirming how fundamental the choice of the template during primer design phase is. Concluding, statistical approach represents a useful tool for the identification of the best performing primer pairs in Real-Time PCR. Cor a 8 gene permitted the identification of hazelnut based ingredients in complex foods, providing a significantly higher sensitivity in the PCR amplification, when compared to Cor a 1 and Cor a 14. 相似文献

Abstract: The polymeric proanthocyanidins (PAs) composition of skins and seeds from different Vitis vinifera L. cv. was evaluated, sampling 37 cultivar, preserved in the grapevine collection of Grinzane Cavour (Piedmont, Italy). PAs were quantified using both spectrophotometric (n‐butanol and vanillin assay) and chromatographic (high‐performance liquid chromatography [HPLC]) methods, and the evaluation of their antioxidant activity was performed using the 2,2‐diphenyl‐1‐picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) scavenging assay. Results of PAs quantification with the different methods were significantly correlated. A strong correlation pointed out between anthocyans and PAs content (particularly regarding HPLC method; r = 0.9359, P = 0), and the antioxidant activity was not dependent on the polymeric PAs content, but negatively correlated with the degree of polymerization (r =–0.6102, P = 1 × 10?4). The hierarchical clustering on principal components analysis allowed grouping the samples in 3 different clusters, observing a direct association between the cluster classification and the anthocyans/PAs content. 相似文献

In this paper, we introduce the Minutia Cylinder-Code (MCC): a novel representation based on 3D data structures (called cylinders), built from minutiae distances and angles. The cylinders can be created starting from a subset of the mandatory features (minutiae position and direction) defined by standards like ISO/IEC 19794-2 (2005). Thanks to the cylinder invariance, fixed-length, and bit-oriented coding, some simple but very effective metrics can be defined to compute local similarities and to consolidate them into a global score. Extensive experiments over FVC2006 databases prove the superiority of MCC with respect to three well-known techniques and demonstrate the feasibility of obtaining a very effective (and interoperable) fingerprint recognition implementation for light architectures. 相似文献

Reducing food waste is a priority to move towards more sustainable food systems. Since agro-food by-products are often rich in healthy compounds, such as fibre, phytochemicals, protein, fatty acids, vitamins and minerals, the waste valorisation could move through their transformation into ingredients useful for the formulation of functional foods. Pasta is a staple food widely consumed all over the world representing an optimal carrier for nutrients delivery. The incorporation of ingredients of a high added value obtained by agro-industrial by-products in pasta can improve its nutritional value and provides several health benefits. At the same time, the inclusion of new ingredients could modify the physical, chemical and textural properties determining the change of the organoleptic characteristics of fortified pasta, affecting its acceptability. A training-needs assessment was conducted at California School of Professional Psychology, Berkeley/Alameda, on students' beliefs about clinical competence, past training in HIV issues, and future training needs at the school. They perceived themselves to be somewhat competent in providing clinical services to HIV patients and members of groups at high risk for HIV. A modest correlation was found between the students' total HIV training and perceived competence, but none was found between the multicultural emphasis in HIV education and their perceived competence. These findings suggest an ethical dilemma surrounding inadequately trained psychologists providing services to multicultural populations. In this paper, a low-pressure capacitively coupled plasma discharge sustained in an argonoxygen
mixture was studied in order to evaluate its properties in terms of inactivation of
Staphylococcus aureus. The plasma parameters as electron temperature and plasma density were
measured by the Langmuir probe (Ne ≈ 1015 m−3, Te ≈ 1.5 eV), while the neutral atom density
was in the range of 1021 m−3. In the plasma phase, oxygen radicals were taken as reference of the
reactive species with antimicrobial activity, and oxygen spectral lines, over a range of plasma
process parameters, were investigated by the optical emission spectroscopy. Optimal plasma
conditions were found, and a count reduction of 4 log in a few minutes of the bacterium proves

Catalytic properties of Ti-containing porous solids were compared in the oxidation of 2,3,6-trimethylphenol (TMP) with H2O2 to produce 2,3,5-trimethyl-1,4-benzoquinone (TMBQ, vitamin E key intermediate). Mesoporous titanium–silicates with di(oligo)nuclear Ti centers, metal–organic framework MIL-125 and amorphous TiO2 demonstrated 100 % selectivity toward TMBQ. Titanium–silicates prepared by evaporation-induced self-assembly revealed superior performance in terms of product yield and catalyst reusability.
