Sulphur volatiles are major factors in the perceived aroma of grapefruit juice, GFJ. The objective of this study was to develop a procedure to concentrate, separate, identify and quantify the major volatile sulphur compounds, VSC’s, in grapefruit juices. SPME parameters such as headspace atmosphere, fibre coating, extraction time and temperature were evaluated. High resolution capillary GC using ZB-5, DB-Wax and PLOT columns coupled with pulsed flame photometric detection, PFPD, were employed for separation and detection. Thirteen sulphur volatiles were identified including; hydrogen sulphide, sulphur dioxide, methanethiol, dimethyl sulphide, carbon disulphide, dimethyl disulphide, 2-methyl thiophene, 3-methyl thiophene, methional, dimethyl trisulphide, 3-mercaptohexylacetate, 2,8-epithio-cis-p-menthane and 1-p-menthene-8-thiol. Five additional VSC’s were tentatively identified. Canned reconstituted GFJ had more total sulphur volatiles and a greater number than fresh GFJ. Hydrogen sulphide comprised over 80% of total sulphur volatiles in fresh GFJ but only 5% in canned GFJ.  相似文献

The present investigation was to evaluate the antioxidant and antibacterial activities of hexane and methanol extracts from Origanum vulgare ssp. hirtum and Thymus vulgaris (Komotini, Greece). The methanol extracts of oregano and thyme against DPPH radical were more active than the hexane extracts (mean values 0.94 and 0.47, respectively) and oregano exhibited stronger activity than thyme (mean values 0.82 and 0.55, respectively). The results from the β-carotene/linoleic acid assay showed that all plant extracts inhibited linoleic acid oxidation up to 70.78±1.17%. The oregano extracts exhibited the strongest inhibition against Escherichia coli, Listeria monocytogenes, and Staphylococcus aureus using the disc diffusion assay. The chemical composition of the hexane and methanol extracts, by using GC-MS, showed that carvacrol, thymol, and p-cymene were the most prominent compounds. The methanol extract of oregano was found the most potent antioxidant with the highest content of total phenolics (138.92 mg GA/g extract) and carvacrol (76.7%).  相似文献

Testing safety-critical systems is crucial since a failure or malfunction may result in death or serious injuries to people, equipment, or environment. An important challenge in testing is the derivation of test cases that can identify the potential faults. Model-based testing adopts models of a system under test and/or its environment to derive test artifacts. This paper aims to provide a systematic mapping study to identify, analyze, and describe the state-of-the-art advances in model-based testing for software safety. The systematic mapping study is conducted as a multi-phase study selection process using the published literature in major software engineering journals and conference proceedings. We reviewed 751 papers and 36 of them have been selected as primary studies to answer our research questions. Based on the analysis of the data extraction process, we discuss the primary trends and approaches and present the identified obstacles. This study shows that model-based testing can provide important benefits for software safety testing. Several solution directions have been identified, but further research is critical for reliable model-based testing approach for safety.  相似文献

Abstract: Meatballs were prepared by mixing ground beef and spices and inoculated with E. coli O157:H7, L. monocytogenes, and S. enteritidis before packaged in modified atmosphere (3% O2+ 50% CO2+ 47% N2) or aerobic conditions. The packaged samples were irradiated at 0.75, 1.5, and 3 kGy doses and stored at 4 °C for 21 d. Survival of the pathogens, total plate count, lipid oxidation, color change, and sensory quality were analyzed during storage. Irradiation at 3 kGy inactivated all the inoculated (approximately 106 CFU/g) S. enteritidis and L. monocytogenes cells in the samples. The inoculated (approximately 106 CFU/g) E. coli O157:H7 cells were totally inactivated by 1.5 kGy irradiation. D10‐values for E. coli O157:H7, S. enteritidis, and L. monocytogenes were 0.24, 0.43, and 0.41 kGy in MAP and 0.22, 0.39, and 0.39 kGy in aerobic packages, respectively. Irradiation at 1.5 and 3 kGy resulted in 0.13 and 0.36 mg MDA/kg increase in 2‐thiobarbituric acid‐reactive substances (TBARS) reaching 1.02 and 1.49 MDA/kg, respectively, on day 1. Irradiation also caused significant loss of color and sensory quality in aerobic packages. However, MAP effectively inhibited the irradiation‐induced quality degradations during 21‐d storage. Thus, combining irradiation (3 kGy) and MAP (3% O2+ 50% CO2+ 47% N2) controlled the safety risk due to the potential pathogens and maintained qualities of meatballs during 21‐d refrigerated storage. Practical Application: Combined use of gamma irradiation and modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) can maintain quality and safety of seasoned ground beef (meatball). Seasoned ground beef can be irradiated at 3 kGy and packaged in MAP with 3% O2+ 50% CO2+ 47% N2 gas mixture in a high barrier packaging materials. These treatments can significantly decrease risk due to potential pathogens including E. coli O157:H7, L. monocytogenes, and S. enteritidis in the product. The MAP would reduce the undesirable effects of irradiation on quality, and extend the shelf life of the product for up to 21 d at 3 °C.  相似文献

Traditional cable driven elevators perform poorly in high-rise buildings because the weight of the cable limits the payload, and its elasticity degrades control performance. Further, it is not mechanically possible to include several elevator cars in the same hoistway because of the cable. However such multi-car elevator systems are desirable since they reduce passenger waiting time and reduce the space requirements of the elevator system. A promising solution is to use long armature linear motors spanning the hoistway to directly drive elevator cages. In such applications, the mover position sensing method must be explicitly addressed since most active position sensing methods require traveling cables, which are also an obstacle for multi-car elevator systems.In this paper, the linear-motor active position sensing method is formally introduced and the principle of operation, design and real-time operation methods are presented. The proposed method is used to measure the position of the mover of a long armature permanent magnet linear synchronous motor requiring no active components on the mover, thus traveling cables are eliminated. The principle of operation is inspired by linear variable differential transformer: A magnetic shunt positioned at a fixed distance ahead of the mover deforms the magnetic field created by one of the armature coils. The deformation can be determined by measuring the induced voltages on the neighboring coils, and the position of the shunt, and thus the mover, can be calculated.A design method for the optimal dimensions of the shunt for a given armature to provide long measurement range and small maximum position error is presented, accompanied by a real-time measurement algorithm that will enable the motor to be driven using the method. Finally the method is verified by simulations and experimental results conducted on a full scale linear-motor elevator prototype that was constructed in the laboratory.  相似文献

A novel data acquisition and imaging method is presented for stepped-frequency continuous-wave ground penetrating radars (SFCW GPRs). It is shown that if the target space is sparse, i.e., a small number of point like targets, it is enough to make measurements at only a small number of random frequencies to construct an image of the target space by solving a convex optimization problem which enforces sparsity through lscr 1 minimization. This measurement strategy greatly reduces the data acquisition time at the expense of higher computational costs. Imaging results for both simulated and experimental GPR data exhibit less clutter than the standard migration methods and are robust to noise and random spatial sampling. The images also have increased resolution where closely spaced targets that cannot be resolved by the standard migration methods can be resolved by the proposed method.  相似文献

In this study, we have developed a novel capacitive biosensor based on interdigitated gold nanodiamond (GID-NCD) electrode for detection of C-reactive protein (CRP) antigen. CRP is one of the plasma proteins known as acute-phase proteins and its levels rise dramatically during inflammatory processes occurring in the body. It has been reported that CRP in serum can be used for risk assessment of cardiovascular diseases. The antibodies immobilization were confirmed by fourier transform spectroscopy (FTIR) and contact angle measurements. In this capacitive biosensor, nanocrystalline diamond acting as a dielectric layer between the electrodes. The CRP antigen detection was performed by capacitive/dielectric-constant measurements. Our results showed that the response of NCD-based capacitive-based biosensor for CRP antigen was dependent on both concentration (25–800 ng/ml) as well as frequency (50–350 MHz). Furthermore, using optimized conditions, the biosensors developed in this study can be potentially used for detection of elevated level of risk markers protein in suspected subjects for early diagnosis of disease.  相似文献

In this article, a 4.5–5.8 GHz, ?Gm LC voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) for IEEE 802.11a standard is presented. The circuit is designed with Austria MicroSystems 0.35 μm SiGe BiCMOS process that includes high‐speed SiGe heterojunction bipolar transistors (HBTs). According to measurement results, phase noise is ?102.3 dBc/Hz at 1 MHz offset from 5 GHz carrier frequency. A linear, 1300 MHz tuning range is obtained utilizing accumulation‐mode varactors. Phase noise is relatively low because of the advantage of differential tuning concept. Output power of the fundamental frequency changes between ?1.6 and 0.9 dBm depending on the tuning voltage. Average second and third harmonic levels are ?25 and ?41 dBm, respectively. The circuit draws 14 mA DC current from 3.3 V supply including buffer circuits leading to a total power dissipation of 46.2 mW.
