Ca0.9Gd0.1MnO3 nanopowders with perovskite type crystal structure were synthesized by modified glycine nitrate procedure. Nanopowders were prepared by combining glycine with metal nitrates and/or metal acetates in their appropriate stoichiometric ratios. Modification of the procedure was performed by partial replacement of nitrates by acetates, in order to control the burn-up reaction. Obtained Ca0.9Gd0.1MnO3 powders were calcinated in the temperature interval from 850 °C to 950 °C for 10 min. Properties such as phase evolution, lattice parameters, chemical composition and magnetic properties were monitored by DTA, X-ray diffraction, SEM/EDS and magnetic measurements. Magnetic measurements performed at the sample with the smallest crystallite size showed that a 10% of Gd3+ substituted Ca2+ ions changes antiferromagnetic properties of CaMnO3 by the introduction of ferromagnetic interaction due to a double exchange between Mn3+ and Mn4+ ions. Presence of competing interactions and their randomness lead to a formation of a spin glass state below Neel temperature TN = 110 K. From the high temperature magnetic susceptibility measurements effective magnetic moment of manganese ions is determined which lies between the values for Mn3+ and Mn4+ ions.  相似文献

This study deals with total phenolic content, antiproliferative and proapoptotic activity of methanolic extracts from different Teucrium species and the effect on the prooxidant/antioxidant status in HCT-116 cells. The total phenolic content of the extracts was measured spectrophotometricaly and the obtained results ranged from 56.62 mg/g to 172.50 mg GA/g. The antiproliferative activity of methanolic extracts from different Teucrium species was determined using MTT cell viability assay, where IC(50) value was used as a parameter for cytotoxicity. The type of cell death was explored by fluorescence microscopy using the acridin orange/ethidium bromide method. MTT assay showed that all extracts significantly reduced cell viability in a dose-dependent manner, with very low IC(50) values. The highest content of phenolic compounds and the best cytotoxic activity on HCT-116 cells after 24 h of exposure was in T. chamaedrys extract, with IC(50) values of 5.48 × 10(-9) μg/mL. After 72 h, methanolic extract of T. arduini appeared to have the best cytotoxic activity on HCT-116, with IC(50) values of 0.37 μg/mL. Treatments caused typical apoptotic morphological changes in HCT-116 cells and showed a high percentage of apoptotic cells. The results of the presented research indicate that some Teucrium extracts are a very rich source of phenols, which may directly contribute to high antiproliferative and proapoptotic activity.  相似文献

Nanometric Bi2O3 powder was successfully synthesized by applying the method based on self-propagating room temperature reaction (SPRT) between bismuth nitrates and sodium hydroxide. X-ray powder diffraction (XRPD) and Rietveld's structure refinement method were applied to characterize prepared powder. It revealed that synthesized material is a single phase monoclinic α-Bi2O3 (space group P21/c with cell parameters a = 5.84605(4)Å, b = 8.16339(6) Å, c = 7.50788(6) Å and β = 112.9883(8)). Powder particles were of nanometric size (about 50 nm). Raman spectral studies conformed that the obtained powder is single phase α-Bi2O3. Specific surface area of obtained powder was measured by Brunauer-Emmet-Teller (BET) method.  相似文献

The sophisticated method for mathematical modeling of humanoid robots formulated in Part 1 of this paper is applied here to the dynamic task of keeping a posture under disturbance, which is equally important to humans and humanoid robots. The idea of this work is to develop and realize a simulator tool for dynamic analysis of human-or-humanoid behavior under disturbances. To show the potentials and verify this tool, we comparatively analyze the robustness of some postures to external disturbance. At this stage of research we do not conduct real experiments with humans/humanoids but try to verify our simulation tool by relying on available experience. Therefore, the postures for comparison are taken from everyday life and from sports: upright standing, squat posture, and three karate postures. As the external disturbance we choose an impulse and a permanent force, both with variable direction and magnitude.  相似文献

The prevalence of neurodegenerative disease (ND) is increasing, partly owing to extensions in lifespan, with a larger percentage of members living to an older age, but the ND aetiology and pathogenesis are not fully understood, and effective treatments are still lacking. Neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis are generally thought to progress as a consequence of genetic susceptibility and environmental influences. Up to now, several environmental triggers have been associated with NDs, and recent studies suggest that some cyanotoxins, produced by cyanobacteria and acting through a variety of molecular mechanisms, are highly neurotoxic, although their roles in neuropathy and particularly in NDs are still controversial. In this review, we summarize the most relevant and recent evidence that points at cyanotoxins as environmental triggers in NDs development.  相似文献

Enrofloxacin is a synthetic second‐generation fluoroquinolone used as an antimicrobial agent exclusively in veterinary medicine. To simulate the treatment of wastewater contaminated by enrofloxacin, four‐day long fed‐batch runs were carried out according to the Fenton process with an enrofloxacin solution as model, to which hydrogen peroxide and ferrous ion were added twice a day. The residual enrofloxacin concentration was practically coincident to that detected at the end of the batch tests. Hydrogen peroxide was almost completely consumed after each feeding period, while the total organic carbon (TOC) concentration decreased gradually within three days, corresponding to a reduction > 58 %. From the third day on, the TOC falling rate was quite low. A yellow sludge settled due to the precipitation of both Fe(OH)3 and a complex formed by ferric ion with adsorbed enrofloxacin and/or its oxidation products.  相似文献

The magnetic properties and hyperthermia effect were studied in a magnetorheological fluid (MRF) containing iron particles of $1 \upmu \mathrm{m}\, \text{ to}\, 5 \,\upmu \mathrm{m}$ in diameter. The measurements showed that the magnetization in the saturation state reaches a value of 171 $\text{ A}\cdot \text{ m}^{2}\cdot \mathrm{kg}^{-1}$ with very small values of coercivity and remanence. They also showed the ferromagnetic behavior in the system together with a value of the magnetic susceptibility of 1.7. Theoretical and experimental results of the calorimetric effect investigation under a changeable magnetic field of high frequency ( $f = 504$ kHz) in an MRF will be presented in the article. The sample was subjected to an alternating magnetic field of different strengths ( $H = 0$ to 4 $\text{ kA}\cdot \text{ m}^{-1})$ . It results from a theoretical analysis that the heat power density (released in the MRF sample) referenced to the eddy current is proportional to the square of frequency, the magnetic field amplitude, and the iron grain diameter. Experimental results indicate that there are some reasons for the released heat energy such as: energy losses from magnetic hysteresis and eddy currents induced in the iron grains. If the magnetic field intensity amplitude grows, the participation of losses connected with magnetic hysteresis is increased. From the calorimetric measurements, the conclusion is as follows: for a magnetic field $H<1946\,\text{ A}\cdot \mathrm{m}^{-1}$ , the eddy current processes dominate in the heat generation mechanism, whereas hysteresis processes for the total release of thermal energy dominate for higher magnetic fields. Both mechanisms take equal parts in heating the tested sample at a magnetic field intensity amplitude $H= 1946\,\text{ A}\cdot \mathrm{m}^{-1}$ . The specific absorption rate referenced to the mass unit of the MRF sample at the amplitude of the magnetic field strength 4 $\text{ kA}\cdot \mathrm{m}^{-1}$ equals 24.94 $\text{ W} \cdot \mathrm{kg}^{-1}$ at a frequency $f$ = 504 kHz.  相似文献

The province of Guizhou in Southwestern China is currently one of the world's most important mercury production areas. Emissions of mercury from the province to the global atmosphere have been estimated to be approximately 12% of the world total anthropogenic emissions. The main objective of this study was to assess the level of contamination with Hg in two geographical areas of Guizhou province. Mercury pollution in the areas concerned originates from mercury mining and ore processing in the area of Wanshan, while in the area of Quingzhen mercury pollution originates from the chemical industry discharging Hg through wastewaters and emissions to the atmosphere due to coal burning for electricity production. The results of this study confirmed high contamination with Hg in soil, sediments and rice in the Hg mining area in Wanshan. High levels of Hg in soil and rice were also found in the vicinity of the chemical plant in Quingzhen. The concentrations of Hg decreased with distance from the main sources of pollution considerably. The general conclusion is that Hg contamination in Wanshan is geographically more widespread, due to deposition and scavenging of Hg from contaminated air and deposition on land. In Quingzhen Hg contamination of soil is very high close to the chemical plant but the levels reach background concentrations at a distance of several km. Even though the major source of Hg in both areas is inorganic Hg, it was observed that active transformation of inorganic Hg to organic Hg species (MeHg) takes place in water, sediments and soils. The concentration of Hg in rice grains can reach up to 569 microg/kg of total Hg of which 145 microg/kg was in MeHg form. The percentage of Hg as MeHg varied from 5 to 83%. The concentrations of selenium can reach up to 16 mg/kg in soil and up to 1 mg/g in rice. A correlation exists between the concentration of Se in soil and rice, indicating that a portion of Se is bioavailable to plants. No correlation between Hg and Se in rice was found. Exposure of the local population to Hg may occur due to inhalation of Hg present in air (in particular in Hg mining area) and consumption of Hg contaminated food (in particular rice and fish) and water. Comparison of intake through these different routes showed that the values of Hg considerably exceed the USA EPA Reference Concentration (RfC) for chronic Hg exposure (RfC is 0.0004 mg/m(3)) close to the emission sources. Intake of Hg through food consumption, particularly rice and fish, is also an important route of Hg exposure in study area. In general, it can be concluded that the population mostly at risk is located in the vicinity of smelting facilities, mining activities and close to the waste disposal sites in the wider area of Wanshan. In order to assess the real level of contamination in the local population, it is recommended that biomonitoring should be performed, including Hg and MeHg measurements in hair, blood and urine samples.  相似文献

The surface texturing of ceramics is generally performed through acid-based etching and machining; however, laser texturing may be considered as a more precise, reproducible and eco-friendly process. Furthermore, laser ablation may be used to produce complex patterns on ceramic surfaces, thus offering new surface engineering opportunities. The studies so far conducted on this topic have mainly been application-driven, and since a wide variety of lasers have been used for surface texturing, it is difficult to have a comprehensive understanding of this technique applied to ceramics and ceramic composite materials. Laser texturing requires a great deal of knowledge of the material and the laser source parameters to optimise the process in order to obtain the expected results. It is therefore important to expand the research on the laser texturing of ceramics and CMCs in order to build a relevant amount of literature that can be used to identify the most appropriate parameters for each application. This review provides an overview of most of the technological aspects considered relevant for the laser surface texturing of ceramics and CMCs, and includes the fundamentals of laser-material interactions and a summary of the used equipment and parameters. Furthermore, most of the techniques related to the modifications of surface material induced by a laser are critically reviewed, and the new horizons that are opening up, in the context of the modification of surfaces to improve the performances of materials for several applications, are discussed.  相似文献
