In this paper, we propose an interactive character motion control interface that uses hands. Using their hands and fingers, the user can control a large number of degrees of freedom at the same time. We applied principal component analysis to a set of sample poses and assigned the extracted principal components to each degree of freedom of the hands (such as the hand positions and finger bending/extending angles). The user can control the blending weights of the principal components and deform the character's pose by moving their hands and bending/extending their fingers. We introduced pose and action controls, so that we can alter the standing pose and perform various actions with deformations. So that various types of actions were possible, we constructed a number of action models in advance. We introduced action model selection and action execution mechanisms. We developed methods for computing the feature vector, for applying principal component analysis, and for pose and action synthesis. In addition, we introduced a pose transition method for performing a step motion when necessary to prevent foot sliding. David Chalmers' dancing qualia argument is intended to show that phenomenal experiences, or qualia, are organizational invariants. The dancing qualia argument is a reductio ad absurdum, attempting to demonstrate that holding an alternative position, such as the famous inverted spectrum argument, leads one to an implausible position about the relation between consciousness and cognition. In this paper, we argue that Chalmers' dancing qualia argument fails to establish the plausibility of qualia being organizational invariants. Even stronger, we will argue that the gap in the argument cannot be closed.  相似文献

We propose a method of rapidly detecting radioactive cesium floating in the air for the purpose of alerting people active in the ‘difficult-to-return zone’ of Fukushima to changes in airborne radioactivity. With this purpose in mind, we set requirement specifications and created a new system concept. The targeted detection limit was 30 Bq/m3 and the mandatory level of measurement time was 48 min with a target level of 12 min, and these periods are 10 times faster than those of conventional air monitors. The system consists of a conventional gamma-spectrometer with a novel shaped shield. The targeted peak region of the measured energy spectrum is analyzed. After the basic design and confirmation of feasibility, we perform some experiments in the normal environment of Yokohama city and the difficult-to-return zone of Fukushima. Using the results, we conducted the design improvement and performance evaluation. As a result, the system performance is found to satisfy requirements. We thus conclude that this system is a promising candidate for rapid detection of airborne radioactivity in the difficult-to-return zone of Fukushima.  相似文献

The performance of polymer electrolyte fuel cell (PEFC) is affected by an interfacial property between a proton exchange membrane (PEM) and electrodes. Thus, to develop a well-laminated membrane electrode assembly (MEA), a hybrid PEM (FN) was fabricated by mixing a radiation grafted membrane (sulfonated FEP) with ionomer (Nafion® dispersion) which is applied to coat the interface of the PEM and electrodes.The obtained FN, sulfonated FEP and Nafion®112 were characterized in terms of water uptake, ion exchange capacity (IEC), polarization performance and electrochemical impedance. FN showed high IEC and water uptake, which would induce the highest ionic conductivity (IC) among tested PEMs. In terms of FN, the interface between the PEM and electrodes should have been improved because FN showed the lowest charge transfer resistance than other tested PEMs. The high IC and improved interface between the PEM and electrodes resulted in the best cell performance of FN in tested PEMs.  相似文献

The construction of optical access networks is one of key issues to provide new broad-band services and emulation of legacy services. Passive optical network (PON) technologies realize sophisticated and economical optical access networks for these purposes. This paper summarizes requirements and technical and marketing trends for optical access networks. It also presents advantages of networking by PON technologies for optical access networks.
