Nano-polycrystalline diamonds (NPDs) consist of nanosized diamond grains oriented in random directions. They have high toughness and isotropic mechanical properties. A NPD has neither the cleavage feature nor the anisotropy of hardness peculiar to single-crystal diamonds. Therefore, it is thought to be useful as a diamond anvil. We previously reported the usefulness of a NPD as an anvil for high-pressure development. In this study, some additional high-pressure generating tests using diamond anvils of various shapes prepared from NPDs were conducted to investigate the advantage of using NPDs for anvil applications. The results revealed that the achievable pressure value of a NPD anvil with a culet size of more than 300 μm is about 1.5 to 2 times higher than that of single-crystal diamond anvils, indicating that NPD anvils have considerable potential for large-volume diamond anvils with large culet sizes.  相似文献

Phasemorphology and mechanical properties of blends of high‐impact polystyrene (HIPS) and polycarbonate (PC) blends compatibilized with a polystyrene (PS) and polyarylate (PAr) (PS–PAr) block copolymer were investigated. Over a broad range of composition from 50/50 through 30/70, HIPS/PC blends formed cocontinuous structures induced by the flow during the extrusion or injection‐molding processes. These cocontinuous phases had heterogeneity between the parallel and perpendicular directions to the flow. The micromorphology in the parallel direction to the flow consisted of stringlike phases, which were highly elongated along the flow. Their longitudinal size was long enough to be longer than 180 μm, while their lateral size was shorter than 5 μm, whereas that in the perpendicular direction to the flow showed a cocontinuous phase with regular spacing due to interconnection or blanching among the stringlike phases. The PS–PAr block copolymer was found to successfully compatibilize the HIPS/PC blends. The lateral size of the stringlike phases could be controlled both by the amount of the PS–PAr block copolymer added and by the shear rate during the extrusion or injection‐molding process without changing their longitudinal size. The HIPS/PC blend compatibilized with 3 wt % of the PS–PAr block copolymer under an average shear rate of 675 s?1 showed a stringlike phase whose lateral size was reduced almost equal to the rubber particle size in HIPS. The tensile modulus and yield stress of the HIPS/PC blends could be explained by the addition rule of each component, while the elongation at break was almost equal to that of PC. These mechanical properties of the HIPS/PC blends can be explained by a parallel connection model independent of the HIPS and PC phases. On the other hand, the toughness factor of the HIPS/PC blends strongly depended on the lateral size of the stringlike phases and the rubber particle size in the HIPS. It was found that the size of the string phases and the rubber particle should be smaller than 1.0 μm to attain a reasonable energy absorbency by blending HIPS and PC. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. In order to advance quantum computer after successful synthesis of a qubit (quantum-bit) using a NV (nitrogen-vacancy) center in diamond crystal, the innovation of a NOT processor is strongly demanded. A candidate of it can be one NV center associated with an additional N atom, which is called a NV–N center. Making use of a classical molecular dynamics simulation of N ion implantation into pure diamond with an energy of 200 eV, we have examined the crystallographic structure of “NV–N” centers. However, at low temperature of 30 K, most implanted N atoms became interstitials, thus it was difficult to identify even NV centers.  相似文献

Improved synthesis and reinvestigation of the magnetic properties of triphenylamine bearing three nitronylnitroxide radicals (1) were carried out. Single crystal X-ray crystallographic analysis of 1 established that its molecular shape had a C3-symmetry. Our newly prepared 1 showed different physical properties from those of reported. SQUID measurements of 1 showed that each of the three spins of 1 behaved independently at room temperature. In contrast, the three spins coupled antiferromagnetically at lower temperature as low as ca. 1.8 K. These spin behaviors can be explained by a regular triangular antiferromagnetic model (J/kB = ?3.3 K) and interpreted as a spin frustration system.  相似文献

Catastrophic stress induced by Hanshin-Awaji earthquake seems to promote rheological deterioration associated with high blood pressure, increased blood viscosity due to hemoconcentration and increased fibrinogen level. These changes lead to prolonged endothelial cell dysfunction demonstrating high levels of von Willebrand factor, tissue type plasminogen activator and plasmin.alpha 2 plasmin inhibitor complex, and accelerate fibrin turnover as the result of a high D-dimer level from the post earthquake period until 4-6 months later. There were remarkable changes in biochemical parameters except for uric acid, BUN, triglyceride level. An increase in these acute changes caused by mental and physical stress might trigger obstructive thrombus in coronary arteries in the elderly after an earthquake. In conclusion, earthquake induced stress could be considered a transient cardiovascular risk factor.  相似文献

Rifampicin synoviorthesis has been empirically used for the treatment of haemophilic synovitis for some time. This paper reports on the experience of three Latin American centers with this treatment and compares it with radioactive synoviorthesis results. Chemical synoviorthesis with rifampicin is best indicated in younger patients (< 15 years) and small joint (ankles and elbows).  相似文献

Diffuse panbronchiolitis (DPB) in East Asia is a distinctive chronic obstructive pulmonary disease of unknown etiology. We hypothesize that the disease susceptibility is due to genetic predisposition unique to Asians. Association between human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-Bw54 and the disease was previously reported. In the present study, using newly developed polymerase chain reaction (PCR)- based methods, we directly analyzed HLA class I and II alleles in 76 Japanese patients. HLA-A, -B, and -C antigens were screened by the conventional typing method, and then B22-group alleles including HLA-B54 were genotyped by single-strand conformation polymorphism analysis. Alleles of HLA-DRB1 gene were fully determined by the microtiter plate hybridization method. Thirty-seven percent of the patients possessed HLA-B*5401 allele conserved predominantly in East Asians, as compared with 15% of 110 healthy volunteers (chi2 = 12.4, p = 0.0004). In addition, 4% of the patients possessed B*5504 also unique to Asians but a rare allele which was not found in normal control subjects in this study. Typing of HLA-DRB1 class II gene did not demonstrate strong positive association with the disease. A33, B44, and DRB1*1302 showed negative association with the disease. We conclude that distinctive molecular structure of HLA-B alleles or a closely linked gene in the HLA region contributes to genetic predisposition in diffuse panbronchiolitis. This may partly explain why this disorder is found primarily in Asians.  相似文献

In recent years, realization of a haptic system has been strongly desired in the fields of medical treatment and expert's skill acquisition. The bandwidth of force sensing and friction compensation are very important problems for reproduction of vivid force sensation. In this paper, an environment quarrier is proposed for bilateral teleoperation instead of force sensors. The environment quarrier is a novel force-sensing method that consists of a twin robot system. Two of the same type of robot are required and they are controlled in the same position, velocity, and acceleration by bilateral acceleration control based on a disturbance observer. One robot is in contact motion and the other is unconstrained. The purity of external force is obtained by subtracting the disturbance torque in the unconstrained robot from the constrained one. The environment quarrier can observe the external force with high bandwidth and friction compensation. In this paper, the idea of multilateral control is introduced for attainment of simultaneity. Furthermore, this paper shows the controller design of the multilateral control in the modal space. The experimental results show the viability of the proposed method  相似文献
