Distribution and biliary and fecal excretion of bile acids were examined in Wistar strain male rats of about 300 g body weight. The pool size of the rats on ordinary diet was 40 mg/rat, biliary secretion was 14 mg/hr, and fecal excretion was 10 mg/day. Bile acids were mainly located in the small and large intestinal contents, 87% and 10%, respectively; but a portion was found in the intestinal wall and the liver. Rats fed 2% cholesterol-supplemented diet for a week showed similar values for pool size and biliary secretion with the rats on ordinary diet, but higher values for fecal excretion and distribution ratio in the large intestinal contents. Cholic acid was a major component in the bile, small intestinal wall, small intestinal content and liver, while the bile acid composition ratios were roughly similar to each other, although a relatively large amount of α-muricholic acid was found in the intentinal wall and liver. Both the wall and content compositions of the large intestine were similar to that of the feces, in which lithocholic, deoxycholic, α- and β-muricholic acids were the main components, although the ratios of α- and β-muricholic acids in the large intestinal wall were larger than those in the intestinal contents or feces. The high concentrations of these bile acids may indicate a difference of transport velocity across the cell membrane, but the mechanism is not known.  相似文献

The effect of the IVa element addition to the niobium core and that of gallium addition to the matrix on the composition, growth rate and superconducting properties of the composite-processed Nb3Sn have been studied. The IVa elements added to the niobium core enhance the growth rate of Nb3Sn, and prevent the grain coarsening of Nb3Sn. A much larger amount of titanium is incorporated into Nb3Sn than zirconium or hafnium. Tc shows a slight maximum against the IVa element concentration in the niobium core. Jc at high magnetic fields is more significantly increased by titanium addition than zirconium or hafnium additions. The gallium substitution for tin in the matrix is effective for increasing Tc and Jc in high fields, except for the specimen with Nb-Ti alloy core. The simultaneous addition of hafnium and gallium is most effective for the enhancement of Jc in high fields.  相似文献

Molybdenum specimens prepared by two processes, powder-metallurgy (PM) and electron-beam melting (EB), were irradiated to a fast neutron fluence of 2.74 × 1024n/m2 (En? 1 MeV) at about 600°C (873 K), and their mechanical properties were studied in detail. It was shown that the degree of irradiation embrittlement in EB-Mo was smaller than that in PM-Mo, which might be caused by stronger grain-boundaries and probably smaller irradiation-hardening in the former. From the relation between the recovery of ductility and microstructural changes in post-irradiation annealed PM-Mo at 800 (1073 K), 1000 (1273 K) and 1200°C (1473 K), it was concluded that the recovery resulted from a decrease of irradiation hardening due to a rearrangement and a disappearance of depleted-zones, dislocation-loops and voids in order with increasing annealing temperature. An anomalous mode of fracture was observed in as-irradiated specimens, which consisted of inhomogeneous deformation, then brittle fracture not at the center but at the root of the deformation neck. This mode was observed in a narrow temperature range near the DBTT. A possible mechanism is discussed.  相似文献

A mesophilic, mixotrophic iron-oxidizing bacterium strain OKM-9 uses ferrous iron as a sole source of energy and L-glutamate as a sole source of cellular carbon. Uptake of L-glutamate into OKM-9 cells is absolutely dependent on ferrous iron oxidation. Thus, the Fe(2+)-dependent L-glutamate uptake system of strain OKM-9 is crucial for the bacterium to grow mixotrophically in iron medium with L-glutamate. The relationship between iron oxidation and L-glutamate transport activities was studied. Iron oxidase containing cytochrome a was purified 9-fold from the plasma membrane of OKM-9. A purified iron oxidase showed one rust-colored band following disc gel electrophoresis after incubation with Fe(2+). The Fe(2+)-dependent L-glutamate transport system was also purified 14.5-fold from the plasma membrane using the same purification steps as for iron oxidase. Fe(2+)-dependent L-glutamate and L-cysteine uptake activities of OKM-9 were 0.36 and 0.24 nmol/mg/min, respectively, when a concentration of 18 mM of these amino acids was used as a substrate. Both uptake activities were completely inhibited by potassium cyanide (KCN), suggesting that cytochrome a in the iron oxidase is involved in the transport process. The iron-oxidizing activity of strain OKM-9 was activated 1.7-fold by 80 mM L-glutamate. In contrast, the activity was noncompetitively inhibited by L-cysteine. The Michaelis constant of iron oxidase for Fe(2+) was 12.6 mM and the inhibition constant for L-cysteine was 41.6 mM. A marked inhibition of iron oxidase by 50 mM L-cysteine was completely reversed by the addition of 60 mM L-glutamate. The results suggest the possibility that iron oxidase has a binding site for L-cysteine and the cysteine first bound to the iron oxidase was replaced by the added L-glutamate.  相似文献

A radio frequency (RF) telemetry system with a shape memory alloy microelectrode was designed and fabricated. The total size and weight are 15 mm x 8 mm and 0.1 g, respectively. Since the telemeter is small and light enough to be loaded on a small animal such as an insect, the system can be used for the neural recording of a freely moving insect. The RF-telemeter can transmit signals by frequency modulation transmission at 80-90 MHz. The transmitted signals can be received up to about 16 meters away from the telemeter with a high signal-to-noise ratio. The neural activity can be detected without attenuation by using an instrumentation amplifier with its input impedance set to 2 Mohms at 1 kHz. The telemeter was loaded on a cockroach and the neural activity during a free-walk was successfully measured through this telemetry system.  相似文献

Over the past 15 years important advances have been made in the experimental study of the microstructural changes occurring during the non-linear steady-state creep of single phase crystalline matter at elevated temperatures. Curiously, although the results of these painstaking studies have gone a long way toward elucidating the mechanism of this phenomenon, they have been largely ignored in favour of some simple dislocation mechanisms that are not only inconsistent with these observations, but are also unable to describe correctly the known phenomenology. This review concentrates primarily on the recent experiments on microstructural alterations occurring during creep; however, it also surveys the many mechanistic models that attempt to describe this phenomenon, and finds them all deficient.On leave from The Institute for Solid State Physics, The University of Tokyo, during 1974–1975.  相似文献

The iron-oxidizing bacterium Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans SUG 2-2 is markedly resistant to mercuric chloride and can volatilize mercury (Hg0) from mercuric ion (Hg2+) under acidic conditions. To develop a microbial technique to volatilize and recover mercury from acidic and organic compound-containing mercury wastewater, which is usually produced in the course of everyday laboratory work in Okayama University, the effects of organic and inorganic chemicals on the mercury volatilization activity of A. ferrooxidans cells were studied. Among 55 chemicals tested, the mercury volatilization from a reaction mixture (pH 2.5) containing resting cells of SUG 2-2 (1 mg of protein) and mercury chloride (14 nmol) was strongly inhibited by AgNO3 (0.05 mM), K2CrO7 (1.0 mM), cysteine (1.0 mM), trichloroethylene (1 microM), and commercially produced detergents (0.05%). However, the strong inhibition by trichloroethylene and detergents was not observed when these organic compounds were chemically decomposed using Fenton's method before the treatment of the wastewater with SUG 2-2 cells. When 20 ml of water acidified with sulfuric acid (pH 2.5) containing ferrous sulfate (3%), diluted mercury wastewater (17.5 nmol of Hg2+) and SUG 2-2 cells (0.05 mg of protein) were incubated for 10 d at 30 degrees C, 47% of the total mercury in the wastewater was volatilized and recovered into a trapping reagent for metal mercury. However, when the organic compounds in the mercury wastewater were decomposed using Fenton's method and then treated with A. ferrooxidans cells, approximately 100% of the total mercury in the wastewater was volatilized and recovered.  相似文献

Characterizations of Ti-B binary oxide thin films by means of various spectroscopic measurements have shown that Ti-B binary oxide thin films are formed by ultra fine TiO2 nanoparticles. A dramatic decrease in the contact angle of water droplets to 0 degree under ultraviolet (UV) light irradiation and a return to only half of its initial value under dark conditions were observed for the Ti-B binary oxide thin films. Moreover, ultraviolet irradiation of these thin film photocatalysts in the presence of NO led to photocatalytic decomposition of NO into N2 and O2. Especially when the Ti content was low, the size of the primary nanoparticles of the thin films was smaller and the photocatalytic reaction proceeded efficiently with a high selectivity for the formation of N2 and O2 from NO.  相似文献

The temperature dependences of the velocity of sound in liquid Pb, Sn, Ge, and Si have been measured by means of the pulse transmission technique over temperature ranges of 610–1078 K, 608–1463 K, 1215–1443 K, and 1723–1888 K, respectively. In both liquid Pb and Sn, the velocities of sound decrease linearly with increasing temperature, which is the same temperature dependence as shown in many other liquid metals. On the other hand, the velocities of sound in liquid Ge and Si exhibit anomalous temperature dependences. In Ge, the velocity of sound has a distinct maximum around 1280 K and decreases linearly at higher temperatures. In Si, the velocity of sound increases monotonically with increasing temperature in the temperature range investigated. It is considered that these results predict that the coordination numbers of liquid Ge and Si increase with increasing temperature.  相似文献
