Recently, there has been a growing interest in the application of Fuzzy ARTMAP for use in building energy management systems or EMS. However, a number of papers have indicated that there are important weaknesses to the Fuzzy ARTMAP approach, such as sensitivity to noisy data and category proliferation. Gaussian ARTMAP was developed to help overcome these weaknesses, raising the question of whether Gaussian ARTMAP could be a more effective approach for building energy management systems? This paper aims to answer this question. In particular, our results show that Gaussian ARTMAP not only has the capability to address the weaknesses of Fuzzy ARTMAP but, by doing this, provides better and more efficient EMS controls with online learning capabilities.  相似文献

This letter considers a problem that arises in the context of statistical, state-dependent resource allocation in communication networks. Specifically, the problem concerns a single-server discrete-time queue with state-dependent probabilistic server interruptions. The system is analyzed for two forms of probabilistic behavior: exponential and hyperbolic forms. The analysis yields several performance metrics of interest, including average system occupancy, average delay, steady-state occupancy distribution.  相似文献

This paper studies the effects of tuning delay of transmitters in packet-based optical broadcast networks. We consider scheduling of random traffic with tunable transmitters and fixed-tuned receivers and obtain the degradation imposed by tuning delay using several performance criteria, such as schedule completion time, average packet delay, and session blocking rates. We show that for off-line scheduling the effects of tuning delay are small even if the tuning time is as large as the packet duration. We provide a lower bound to the expected completion time of any off-line schedule with an arbitrary number of wavelengths. We then describe a near-optimal schedule which is based on the principle of having idle transmitters tune to wavelengths just-in-time to start their transmissions. Stability and capacity issues in the transmission of real-time traffic are considered and a queueing-theoretic analysis of average packet delay is given. The packet delay is found to be insensitive to tuning delay under near-optimal transmission scheduling. Finally we extend the model to connection-oriented networks and evaluate the session blocking performance for scheduled circuit connections  相似文献

We demonstrate experimentally 4?×?10 Gbps wavelength division multiplexing repeaterless transmission system using non-return-to-zero differential phase-shift keying modulation format over 300-km standard single-mode fiber. The channels used were 1546.9, 1547.7, 1548.51 and 1549.2 nm with 100 GHz spacing. In this system design, a dispersion compensation module is used; multi-channel-chirped fiber Bragg grating was deployed with asymmetrical configuration with different compositions of dispersion values at the transmitting and the receiving sides. The transmission system was pumped bidirectionally with 1445 and 1455 nm wavelength in a forward direction, and three pump wavelengths of 1430, 1440 and 1450 nm are deployed for the backward direction. The total on–off Raman gain is 47 dB from total pump power of 1.862 W. The result for dispersion pre-compensation of ??2006.0 and ??2338.3 ps/nm has minimal effect on nonlinearity showing the best performance for 300-km repeaterless transmission system.  相似文献
