We consider a flexible manufacturing system with a number of workstations, a single material transporter, and a common storage space of finite capacity. The material handling delay times are explicitly considered in the model and assumed to follow a two-stage Coxian distribution. The material processing times on a workstation also have a two-stage Coxian distribution. The routing of parts within the system follows a Markov chain. An approximate performance model is developed and the results are compared with the exact or simulation results. We also investigate how this performance model compares to a simulation with deterministic routing and processing times. Finally, we study the effect, on the performance measures, of ignoring the material transporter or of modeling the transporter as a central server with aggregation of routing information. 相似文献

BACKGROUND: A large number of bacterial, fungal and microalgal species are able to bio‐transform steroid compounds. Among them, fungi from the Mucor genus have been shown to mediate hydroxylation, oxidation, and desaturation by the double bond formation and epoxidation of various steroid substances. Mucor racemocus has not been studied for its ability to modify androst‐1,4‐dien‐3,17‐dione, a pharmaceutically important steroid precursor. RESULTS: The filamentous fungus M. racemosus was applied for bioconversion of androst‐1,4‐dien‐3,17‐dione (ADD, I ) in a 5‐day fermentation. Microbial metabolites were purified chromatographically and identified on the basis of their spectral data as 17β‐hydroxyandrost‐1,4‐dien‐3‐one ( II ), 14α‐hydroxyandrost‐1,4‐dien‐3,17‐dione ( III ), 15α‐hydroxyandrost‐1,4‐dien‐3,17‐dione ( IV ), 15α,17β‐dihydroxyandrost‐1,4‐dien‐3‐one ( V ), 14α,17β‐dihydroxyandrost‐1,4‐dien‐3‐one ( VI ), and 6β,17β‐dihydroxyandrost‐1,4‐dien‐3‐one ( VII ). CONCLUSION: Observed modifications included hydroxylation at C‐6β, C‐14α, C‐15α positions and 17‐carbonyl reduction. The best fermentation conditions for production of hydroxysteroid‐1,4‐dien‐3‐one derivatives were found to be 25 °C at 150 rpm for 5 days with a substrate concentration of 0.5 g L?1. An association equation of state (AEOS) has been proposed for hydrogen-bonded compounds. To obtain this AEOS, the compressibility factor was assumed to consist of two parts: the physical part due to physical interactions of molecules; and the chemical part due to molecular association by hydrogen bonding of molecules. Tuned mass damper (TMD) has been proposed as one of the vibration control methods for rehabilitation of buildings. Because the parameters of TMD can significantly affect the seismic performance of structures, many researches focused on finding the optimum parameters. Because earthquakes are random phenomena and future earthquakes in comparison with past earthquakes may be more destructive, the optimum design of TMD subjected to selected earthquakes can be nonconservative. Hence, the main contribution of this paper is to present the optimal design of TMD for the seismic vibration control of a structure subjected to a critical earthquake that produces the most severe response of a structure. In order to achieve this purpose, the parameters of TMD are optimized through minimizing the maximum displacement of the roof. First, three optimization methods are used to obtain the optimal parameters of TMD for a 10‐story shear building subjected to the critical earthquakes. Finally, the responses of the controlled and uncontrolled buildings such as the roof displacement, strokes, transfer function, and different forms of energy are compared. Results show that the optimum designs of TMD not only effectively reduce the roof displacement but also improve the seismic performance of the building. 相似文献

The corrosiveness of bismuth telluride-based thermoelectric materials (n-type single-phase alloy and a nanocomposite with MoS2 nanoinclusions), in 0.1 molar solution of sodium chloride (NaCl), was investigated. The electrochemical impedance spectroscopy curves obtained after 1, 24, 48 and 72 h immersion time revealed the enhancement of the corrosion resistance of the nanocomposite specimen in a 0.1 molar NaCl solution in comparison with the single-phase bismuth telluride-based alloys, and the passivity increased by immersion time up to 72 h. The nanocomposite sample with submicron grains provided suitable nucleation sites for passive film nucleation that led to higher protective behavior. 相似文献

Oxovanadium(IV) Schiff base complex have been anchored onto the surface of purely siliceous MCM-41 and tested for its activity as catalyst for the oxidation of sulfides. This catalyst could alter this oxidation reaction extremity, exhibiting excellent yields with 100 % selectivity. The intercalation of the complex inside the silica matrix was supported by various characterization techniques like X-ray diffraction, differential thermogravimetric (TG-DTA), BET measurements, UV–Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). The stability of the catalyst during the course of the reaction was confirmed from its post catalytic FT-IR and XRD analysis. The catalyst could be reused five times without notable loss of its catalytic activity and efficiency which indicates that the metal-Schiff base moiety is intact and the coordination environments are not altered during the reaction. 相似文献

Au/TiO2/Ti electrodes were prepared by galvanic deposition of gold particles from an acidic bath containing KAu(CN)2 in the presence of a citrate buffer onto TiO2 nanotubes layer on titanium substrates. Titanium oxide nanotubes were fabricated by anodizing titanium foil in a DMSO fluoride-containing electrolyte. The morphology and surface characteristics of Au/TiO2/Ti electrodes were investigated using scanning electron microscopy and energy-dispersive X-ray, respectively. The results indicated that gold particles were homogeneously deposited on the surface of TiO2 nanotubes. The nanotubular TiO2 layers consist of individual tubes of about 40–80 nm diameters. The electro-catalytic behavior of Au/TiO2/Ti electrodes for the dopamine electro-oxidation was studied by cyclic voltammetry and differential pulse voltammetry. The results showed that Au/TiO2/Ti electrodes exhibit a considerably higher electro-catalytic activity toward the oxidation of dopamine. The catalytic oxidation peak current showed a linear dependence on dopamine concentration and a linear calibration curve was obtained in the concentration range of 0.5–2.5 mM of dopamine. 相似文献

AbstractFood contaminants are challenging the food industry due to the inefficiency of conventional decontamination techniques. Cold plasma as an emerging technique for the degradation of food contaminants attracted notable attention. The current study overviews the plasma-induced degradation of food contaminants, discusses the mechanisms involved, points its benefits and drawbacks out, highlights the research needed in this area, and explores future trends. According to the literature, cold plasma efficiently degraded many common pesticides (e.g. parathion, paraoxon, omethoate, dichlorvos, malathion, azoxystrobin, cyprodinil, fludioxonil, cypermethrin, and chlorpyrifos) and food allergens (e.g. tropomyosin, b-conglycinin, glycinin, trypsin inhibitor, and Kunitztype trypsin inhibitor). These degradations occurred primarily due to the presence of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and reactive nitrogen species (RNS) in the plasma that attack the chemical bonds of food contaminants. The type of pesticide degrades are highly dependent on the concentrations of plasma-generated ROS and RNS. Research showed that several parameters, such as plasma generation device, plasma exposure time, plasma power, and the carrier gas composition, influence the type and concentration of reactive species (e.g. ROS and RNS) and the overall efficiency of cold plasma degradation for a specific pesticide or allergen.

In this paper, a seasonal multi-product multi-period inventory control problem is modeled in which the inventory costs are obtained under inflation and all-unit discount policy. Furthermore, the products are delivered in boxes of known number of items, and in case of shortage, a fraction of demand is considered backorder and a fraction lost sale. Besides, the total storage space and total available budget are limited. The objective is to find the optimal number of boxes of the products in different periods to minimize the total inventory cost (including ordering, holding, shortage, and purchasing costs). Since the integer nonlinear model of the problem is hard to solve using exact methods, a particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm is proposed to find a near-optimal solution. Since there is no bench mark available in the literature to justify and validate the results, a genetic algorithm is presented as well. In order to compare the performances of the two algorithms in terms of the fitness function and the required CPU time, they are first tuned using the Taguchi approach, in which a metric called “smaller is better” is used to model the response variable. Then, some numerical examples are provided to demonstrate the application and to validate the results obtained. The results show that, while both algorithms have statistically similar performances, PSO tends to be the better algorithm in almost all problems. 相似文献
